Thermodynamic Equilibrium is 4/4 but its base is quintuplets (so 5 notes per beat). Other time signatures are used at various points in the tracks.
there are many authors whose names are marked on me for their amazing creations, like john williams, hans zimmer, and mick gordon. but there will never be a name that marks my heart with the memories of playing a fun game with friends and having the time of my life while listening to awesome music fitting to the stage as much as chris christodoulou. i love this guy, his music, and i can't wait to see more of him on that new expansion.

Whenever I play this game, I sit with a tryhard face trying to stay alive. Yet, when this song goes 100% full power around 3:42, my face only expresses transcendence.
If I'm playing serious, the solo is my go to marker that I should have activated the teleporter already, so it's the perfect "you done fucked up son" mark.
I can't count the amount of times this song has made me think I'm hearing sirens in real life somewhere in the distance. Taken my headset off more than once because of it.

(I’ve heard it in Into the Doldrums and . . .con lentitud poderosa as well) I was thinking you’d mention it in the album commentary. Either way, I think it does a really good job at making the songs feel a little more connected. The melody hits the hardest in . . . con lentitud poderosa, as it harkens back to this first stage theme. It might be in other songs, but i don’t think i’m listening hard enough to hear it.

Moister Deficit, reminds me of that one just a bit. That song got me hooked in with RoR 1 and THIS song hooked me for RoR 2. Music grabs me before the actual gameplay for games, thanks for making the experience dope with sweet tunes good buddy :D
@@spindocks See, it WILL sound differently in-game, because there exists a thing like specific in-game mix. I think Hopoos sound engineer took OST and kinda mixed it with huge amount of plugins (multiband compression, side-chain, eq). Because when we play, all these roars, blasts, explosions and interactions are generating in real time, and they must sound correctly with the music. Listening to OST here - is another type of experience. As a matter of fact, I can hear details much better than in the game. So OFC composer would made those changes, making music a little more interesting to listen. :)
in my opinion, the music of risk of rain 1 & 2 is like the music of minecraft; one cannot work without the other, and if you switch it with something else, it changes the feel entirely.
Hey chris correct me if im wrong coz maybe i just have tinnitus but uhhh there's this "high frequency" noise or ring I hear in a couple other songs, such as "The Rain Formerly Known As Purple" just kinda droning about in the background, and I hear it here too on a second listen to the crescendo (I think thats the term) of the synth solo, I think the high frequency noise I hear is actually a left over from the intense reverb that the synth is subjected to so it can fade out smoothly tbh I wouldn't put it past you to put in those high frequency noises in other spots coz it sounds very, uhhh, y'know, for lack of a better description, I guess it sounds like radio interference? or an incoherent or pretty unstable radio. Or maybe a geiger counter. I say I wouldn't put it past you coz to me those background high frequency noises sound like the call for help of the crashed ship. Y'know, left-over radio signals from back when the chaos was at its peak. Or something like that. its neat anyway I like whatever's going on in the background between 2:50 and 3:16 its a very ethereal synthy noise I emjoy
