Been in Vegas since 88, they used to be great even up to 2020 (even if the crowds were less). But as of a couple to a few years ago they sold it, or changed management and they changed the menu. Covid also changed things, They used to have a salad bar. Their go to was all you can eat catfish, shrimp or you could do a combo of the 2. If I remember Wednesday nights was all you can eat rib night, and they had crab legs...don't remember if that was all you can eat. Fried alligator as well, steak too. Since I learned of the place being sold and changing their menu, I didn't bother going. The reason why you went was the AYCE. I imagine this is why its not busy, many other long time Las Vegans were used to the old menu. Farm Basket down the road was sold too years ago. They haven't totally changed things but something was changed, when I have tried it since coming back to Vegas after some years away, it wasn't as good.
I was born and raised in vegas, I remember going there with the family when I was a kid, if I remember right the parking lot used to be dirt, Charleston was a narrow road, rainbow was a narrow road, matter fact Hush Puppy was just about the furthest thing out. I used to always get the fried catfish or the trout (not sure if they still have trout) even thru my 20's and 30's I used to go order 2 dozen hush puppies to go with tarter sauce, Bob you have to get them with tarter sauce, the only way to eat them IMO, that being said, I'm sure the quality has slipped over the years, I haven't been there in roughly 20 years, but it seems quality of food no matter where you go has dropped off a cliff. I will say one place that my wife and I have never had a bad meal or service at is the Silverado steak house inside the south point, also prices are very reasonable compared to other places, your steaks always come with a salad and potato ( mashed or baked) thanks for checking out the Hush Puppy, you make me want to go back and try it again !!
You are a Brave Man Sir Bob! " Im going in I don't care im going in" You are truly a friggin hero my dear friend. The family loved it Ty as we continue to need a bit of humour & a great view. Cheers to continued success, health and happiness 👍🤝✌️💫
Never heard of the Hush Puppies restaurant, I live in the south not from the West Coast I live in Louisville Kentucky lol of all places. Thanks Bob for sharing this, get see something new every time u post a restaurant to do a food review 👍😋 take care.
Been going there since 1988 when that was the "edge"of town. Lol They are empty partly because their Catfish prices recently went up Double. Used to be packed there... Great food though!
You should try the HEART ATTACK GRILL on Fremont Street, it’s a hospital themed restaurant where your required to wear a hospital gown, if you don’t finish your food you get spanked by the nurse waitresses!!!! 🍔
Hey V-BoB-M, you're right that it is extremely odd that a dining establishment as large as that is virtually deserted on a Saturday night. Sounds as if the "DRY" chicken was camped out under a warming lamp too long due to no customers. BTW - Many THANKS for showing the "Hush Puppies" sign. Interesting they were created to quiet noisy dogs hence the name. 😂 🔛 😂 --- 👌
Not the gay fish. Lol The Hush Puppy was a classic for those of is who grew up in Vegas. It used to be in the middle of nowhere with a great view of the city till they built the apartment complex in the 2000’s. The quality isn’t what it used to be but theres still nostalgia. Thru the 90s thru a few years ago there was a second location on Nellis north of Owens.
when i was 14 i worked the deep fryer at arthur treachers ,nothing imo was good there ,maybe the chips but way too greasy . one day out of boredom i made a soccer ball sized hushpuppy and gave it to one of the drive thru customers as a "bonus" -they took it ,probably weighed an ez 5 lbs
Hey Bob, It would be great to get your expert opinion on Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que, I know it's not the mom and pop's you normally do, but living in Vegas, not to many BBQ spots, to get your fix 😂

Hush Puppy is awesome , I remember when there was nothing west of Buffalo and the Pizza Hut was caddy corner .
I like how you pick places to eat at and review on the fly Bob. Also you’re a credit to the economy and local small businesses.
Only Bob walks around with $2 bills in his pocket hahaaa Keep the videos coming 👍
Manager probably watching the security cameras hoping you walk in... then yells at his employees "we got one, fire up the fryer"
Looks like a great spot for Car Meets ! Car Shows , Car Guy Gatherings ! Car Swap Shops !
Our Long John Silvers closed down! Miss it! Sweet potato pie looked delicious ❤

Just noticed almost 4 K Followers ! Been with you since the start ! Its Growing !
Like the table scene from curb your enthusiasm, when you wondered why they placed you away from everybody else.
Another good one Bob!
That place was great in the late 90s but no one has been there in decades. I’m surprised it’s still opened honestly.
Been going there since 1988 when that was the "edge"of town. Lol They are empty partly because their Catfish prices recently went up Double. Used to be packed there... Great food though!
I agree with you the to go menu should be available for sit down. And malt Vinger for the hush puppies would be good for me. Nice looking place
You’re 35-40 years to late Bob. Hush puppies used to be a drive out of town and was always packed.
True!!

Love your vids bro, keep exposing the Romanian Gypsies!!!!
I have lived 2 miles from this place and have eaten there once, and had no idea they had a drive thru.

Broaster is like a pressure cooker with grease.
They got rid of the fresh water cat fish that was my go to and therefore never went back
Glad you stopped. I've passed it many a time, was curious about it.
Come on man! Needed a LIVE. Tattooing and wanted to hear you spit some wisdom. 😂. Guess it’ll be the gay fish place. Much respect sir.
They probably put you on that room so you could video in privacy and have decent audio that other room was screaming.
Review that Heartattack place
YESSS!!!! On FREMONT!!! 🍔

Sadly, they closed the one on Sunset, in Henderson.
I would get the fried shrimp dinner on the to-go menu.
The server’s name is Asthma?
is texas not considered the south? they don't have hush puppies there? i've had hush puppies at all kinds of restaurants all over the south.
Texas is its own thing kinda like FL.
I'm from Texas. What country are you from?
The original location was on Nellis near Washington ? maybe
Yeah it was 1820 n. Nellis now it's a Hispanic restaurant
