    I made this and it was a big hit.. I love mangoes and love this recipe. thank you. My sponge cake rose quite well that I was able to split it into two and make a layered mousse cake. It was delicious!
    do you think ill be able to make this in cupcake form (bake sponge cupcakes and then fill with the mousse)?

    I halved the recipe to fit a 6-inch pan (used 2 eggs) and it was SO GOOD!! Rather than using store bought jello, I dissolved 1 tsp gelatin in 1.5 tbsp water then added it to 1/4 cup mango purée. Just a minor thing I noticed though, the cake was a bit dry. Not sure if there's any specific cause, but I'll try soaking it in more mango nectar next time.

      Hi Judy! Yes, you can make it ahead of time but I recommend keeping it in the refrigerator. I'm not sure how well it would freeze but it will be great in the fridge for even 4 to 5 days. Just keep the cake in the spring form pan!

    Hello, I would like to do a twist please let me know if this will work fine. I want to use this recipe but make the mango cake the same way you did your lemon cake… should I stick to the sponge cake recipe or Vanilla cake you used in the Lemon cake recipe?!

    Hi Tatyanas, thanks for the recipe. It took me 3 times to get to perfection. Because you did not mention to add the hot gelatin into the batter. So I waited for some time and than added, it got lumpy.
    Than I watched the video 2nd time and u did not mention, so I added the hot gelatin and mixed it. Thanks it turned out good. I wish I could send you a picture.!!! 😊😊

      You can also use regular cream cheese or Mascrapone cheese, too :)

      I don't have a vegan version of this, but if it's the gelatin part, you can use agar gelatin in place of conventional gelatin.

      Glad you enjoyed it! For the top jello layer, you can use mango but for the mousse layer, I would stick with unflavored. The amount of gelatin may be different...

    Hey Tatyana. I am not fan of gelantine. Gelantine make a cake to look great but feel a cake like gumi I don't like. If I use less gelantine just one blat can this cake feel more like creamy and not like gumi? Is possible to work without gelantine or less?

      Hi! For this recipe, less gelatin won't work very well. The mousse layer might not set up properly. This mousse is very light and airy and not gummy like in some cakes. I think you'll find it delicious :)

    so I made the strawberry one and just wondering if it possible to freeze the mouse filling ran out time to make a second cake and want to be able to make it for mothers day

      Hi! Absolutely! I recommend assembling the cake and freezing it in the pan. Just wait to add the jello layer - add the day before serving.

    will you taste the cream cheese? most mango mouse dont have the whipped cream cheese. how come you use it? will it become sort of cheese cake like?

    Mango juice and gelatin...could you please temme how much gelatin should i add to set 1 cup of juice

      Hi! That would be delicious, too! I would go with 1 tablespoon of gelatin. Make sure to dissolve the gelatin in boiling water, or mix it with water, then microwave until dissolved (about 30 seconds)

    Hi, I tried making it and it turned out pretty good. however , the mousse part was too runny. I used agar agar instead of gelatin. I think my measurement for agar agar wasn't right. can you please tell me how much water and agar agar to use to get the right consistency. I want to try it again. thanks

      Hi! Sorry that your first attempt didn't work well! Try using 1 tablespoon agar with 1/3 cup water. You'll need to cook this mixture in a small saucepan until the mixture thickens, then add

      Can you find mango puree? That would work better. I think juice would be too thin

      The jello would soak right through the sponge cake. You could make it without the jello layer and it will still be good :)

      Hmm, that's a great question. I'm not sure how that would work but you may need to add more gelatin if you remove half of the cheese... Let me know if it turns out!
