Wear headphones! Please, don't let the "loud music" keep you from watching this video. So.much.information you don't want to miss. Wearing headphones helped me hearing his voice abundantly better than when I tried to watch on my computer. Thank you so much for the great advice! 🧡
I'm on my third fiddle leaf fig plant and have had this one for about two years with zero leaf growth. I panicked previously when I tried repotting it and several of the leaves went yellow and dropped off. After watching this video last week I felt courageous enough to try repotting it again and watered it thoroughly and gave it some fertilizer - now after only a few days it's growing a new leaf! Thanks for this amazing video and helping me finally understand this plant!!
Thank you for this! People kept saying not to over water my fiddle fig plant, so I stopped watering her, but the brown spots kept forming. After watching your video, I started water her more often and now new leaves are sprouting! Super helpful. :)
My husband who knows nothing at all about plants tried to be nice and surprise me with one of these. He didn't know what it was but he thought it looked cool. I could immediately tell something was wrong with it so I whisked it outside and depotted it. The soil was chock full of tiny little white spiders and the leaves had tons of edema. I blasted every grain of soil off with the hose, power-washed the leaves, wiped each one top and bottom with Neem oil, and put in some fresh sterile soil. I just knew it wasn't going to make it. Three months later it's thriving and I've grown to love it so much. I would never have picked it myself but you're right about their character. It's become one of my favorites now and I look forward to propagating it when it grows a bit taller so I can have more than one.
I've always been told that fiddles are super temperamental but mine has always been super agreeable. I've had it since December and have 6 new leaves and active growing buds making more leaves. No dropped leaves either. Idk maybe watching videos like this helped me avoid that initial struggle. Thanks for your tips!
I’m so glad I found this page. I have 3 fiddle plants. One totally lost all of its leaves. I did everything wrong with this one but I repotted it and I’m trying to nurse it back. The other two I just got. I’m terrified because I don’t want to kill them. However this video has helped me to understand better. I’m trying my best to be a good plant mommy.
This is absolutely the most informative video I have seen on the subject. No one else has discussed the red spots and the causes, no one else has explained what the colors of the marks on your leaves mean in terms of watering or sun. Absolutely excellent video except the music is entirely too loud. I know sometimes we want to be hip and treat our audiences to music, but your information was much more important than the background music. Please do a discussion on the Monstera and the palms that I see you have growing. You have an excellent knowledge base.
Awesome tips. I kept moving mine. I freaked out like you knew. Lolol. Also the explanation of different colors of browns and reds and their location was amazing. Best comprehensive video I've seen (of many). I'm a fan!!!
This is so amazing! Tq so much for the guide, I had over watered my plant, that's what the seller told me which clearly he's wrong. The leaves started to fall off, and that truly broke my heart. I'll repot the plant using new soil. Tq once again, God bless 😘🙏
2 yrs late.. but this one of the best videos I have EVER seen. On any subject. I'm a new Fiddle Fig plant dad. I'm trying my best to learn all the nuances of care. Your video was VERY informative.. AND the music wasn't as loud as folks claim. The music and tutorial had great symmetry. 🙏🏽
Such a nurturing attitude behind this video!!! It inspired me to keep my fiddle nice and happy and I’m excited to say my plant has been a part of my life for many months now. Thank you for making this!
He just gave this girl with a black thumb hope and motivation. No one has ever fixed the broken relationship between plants and me. Now I am willing to try. 🥺😢😭 God bless him!
Be very careful when misting leaves and don't do it too heavily. The reduced airflow indoors can cause leaves to stay wet for too long and promote fungus or rot. Make sure there's good airflow or set a fan to run for a couple minutes. As long as the leaves dry out within an hour, you should be fine.
I am new to plant care, and just took in a fiddle leaf fig not knowing anything about it. This video tackled EVERY point and EVERY question I would’ve had about my new plant rather than me having to search through a bunch of internet articles that tend to leave stuff out anyway. Thanks for this video it was so direct and now I’m not so afraid for my new fiddle leaf fig! Subscribed :)
OMG! I have had my FLF tree for a year and up until a month ago it only grew one leaf. THEN I put my coffee grounds in the soil and I have had a solid growth of 4 new leaves. FOUR! Thanks for the video now I can make it grow even more.
Thank you so much for this post! I have been scouring the net for this same information! I just put a kcup in there two days ago. The video said the brown spots disappeared after they put the kcup in the soil. I also have a banana plant that’s leaves are turning brown I put the kcup in that as well.. good luck on yours too. I hope my Chloe makes it, she looks happier!
OMG!!! THANK YOU!! Finally someone that really talks about the plant and not a product they are trying to sell!! You are the best! For real thank you becasue I just got my Fiddle Fig and the bottom leaf started to get the dark spots (just noticed last night) and I was already going crazy and was going to change her to another spot at home but thanks to you I know that’s normal so I’ll keep an eye on her the next 2 days and for sure watch more of your videos ❤
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I have 3 Fiddle leaf figs and one is over 30 years old! You gave great info, especially on watering, and encouraging New branches!!!! Thank you!
Thank you for ACTUALLY showing the notching!! I have watched other videos and they only tell you how and I know it seems self explanatory but I was always afraid to hurt my baby. Thanks!
Idk why this video made me cry!!? I think it was explained so well that it made me really see plants in a new vulnerable light (no pun intended) lol. New plant mama and this video really went into great depth on how a plant shows what it needs and DOESNT need and how they communicate their care to you. LUV LUV LUVED this video and the detail!!!
SAMMMEEEEE. I saw my mother in laws struggle with hers.. it died. So I was inspired to see if I could take on the challenge ...plus it was cheaper . Lol wish me luck
This was AMAZING! Not only did I learn so much about my beautiful fiddle, Hank, (specifically the edema) but your jungle gave me serious interior inspo ❤️ 🌱
Nice video! I love my fiddle! I remember when I tried to knotch and I went to deep and the stems broke off I was so sad but within 1 months 2 new stems emerged and im so happy!
Thankyou for the tips. I don't have a green thumb. Not even chartreuse! I'm fighting to keep my plants alive and with people like you out there I have a much better chance. Thank again and hugs, Sandi
Though I do agree with others about the background music being high, I loved learning about fiddle leaf with you!!! Your voice is so soothing and engaging. Thank you so much! :)
oh my Gawd!! Dude, I have 3. 2 of them are just stubborn as hell while the 3rd, I saw new growth, and I chopped the stem wayyyyyy down, and now a whole new plan is blooming. These plants are beautiful and I find as stubborn as they are I am becoming better at growing and maintaining them. Thanks for further insight.
Thank you for the video, finally a good explanation of what people mean by letting the top soil dry. Sounds like it should be obvious, but it isn't. I am a very anxious new fiddle leaf fig parent, and now I know how to treat it better!
I just got a fiddle leaf and was looking for a one stop shop video for information and wow, this guy covered it all..even things I didn't know to learn about. Thank you!
Your home is beautiful with all those pretty health plants thank you for explaining the fiddle plant. I just brought small one in march it is starting to grow now this is my first fiddle plant I am praying it will grow up beautiful like yours
Thank You or the tips. I decided to start buying indoor plants for my place and my first plant was the snake and Fiddle Leaf plant. I didn't view this video before I re potted my Fig Leaf plant. Thank you so much for the misting advice. I live in a very dry 6 months winter, aka Canada and just bought my first fiddle leaf fig, about a foot tall. I will definitely do those. Super thx again 🤩😘🤗
Very informative & visually engaging!!! Motivated by mi in-law's beautiful plant collection, I purchased my 1st plant a couple months ago. Did the research to find out I got a fiddle leaf plant. I've become dedicated to taking care of it & hopefully increase my indoors plants.
Hilton, I love the images and your advice. I think it would be great to edit the music out. It was very distracting.
Or at least quieter music
I was gonna say the same thing!
Andrea Anderson, PhD loved the music, edit was great! ✌🏾
Sometimes its an editing issue. It probably sounded ok on his end before uploading it
Agreeee
Thank you!! My fiddle leaf fig lost all but one leaf when I first bought him and with your guidance he's now a proud owner of 8 leaves and thriving!

I think mine was sunburnt - the leaves have dried and fallen off 🤦🏽♀️
I finally understand notching. There are so many online sources that mention it but never show it.
Oh and I could hear the sound okay!! :-) Please do more and more plant vids!!
Yes!!! I love that you name your plants!!!!! I just got my first plant last month, now I have 5!! (3 are succulents) but I want a fiddle leaf next!!
