This track is a cover of a song by the legendary Dismember, from their first album "Like an Everflowing Stream", a hugely influential band and album for me. All rights and credits go to their respective owners, I'm simply paying tribute to a song that I love!
I've been sitting on this one for a while, I had initially recorded it all a couple of months ago, and wasn't sure if I'd ever get around to uploading it, but I picked up a Left Hand Wrath pedal from Lone Wolf Audio, and thought I had better use it for this. So I ended up re-recording the whole damn thing. All the guitars are through the LHW. Bass was a DI processed through plugins inside Studio One.
Guitar signal chain is as follows:

This video brings back memories of a simpler time. Nailed it, my friend, as always.
Damn, dude you killed that. Bass sang and guitar. Thats one of my favorite songs. Can't believe it's been over 30 fucking years, what a trip.
That entire album still sounds like it could be brand knew. again, well done.
Thanks a lot!
Dude! Spot on! Hopefully in the future there will be another Demisery album.
I'm still expecting it to happen someday!
That would be sick, I bought the original Demisery album, fuck knows where I put the files though. Sad times.
@@dimeraRaven You can send a message to Gord or myself and we can send you another copy. Cheers!
Guitar are simply amazing roaaar
Dude, you have a great voice! Nice cover🇸🇪
Thanks man!
Have watched this several times now, sooooooo good.
Gord never disappoints.
Whenever he does something with vocals I'm always torn in what I like the most, the precise guitar work or the tough as fuck vocals.
Man, I miss Dismember. Absolutely nailed the sound! Good cover, bro.
They're back together, my man! They reformed back in January.
@@metalmatt1396 Damn, didn't know that! Thats good news. Thx . :D
Awesome, will check out your discography the coming days
I go back and forth whether this is my all time favourite death metal album, but it's definitely in my top five regardless and this is easily of my favourite songs of theirs.
Great cover dude.
For me, Everflowing and Indecent & Obscene are both in my top 10 for sure!
Tone is so gnarly, you nailed it. Love the vocals too! \m/
You nailed it, especially that vocal.
Thanks!
What dedication to an incredibly beautiful song.
EXCELLENT.!!!
Is that this dude's normal growling vocals? Nice mix of Matti and Marten van Drunen. Great sound.
Thanks man! I was trying to put some extra Matti into my voice for this cover, but yeah both of those guys are big influences for me. As for my "normal" voice it's hard to say lol. My normal voice in Darkened is more guttural, with basically no vocal chords involved at all, but in AngelBlast I sing in a similar voice to this, with vocal chord engagement. And in Ye Goat-Herd Gods I sort of bounce between those two styles.
Thanks for watching, cheers!
this is awesome man!!
Thanks!
Great work! 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Thanks!
GREAT job Thank
cover for "of fire", is posible ? congrats for the great Work. 👏👏👏👏👏
It's possible, but there's other bands I still want to cover as well. We'll see! Thanks man
This cover is like Spring Break all the time!!!
I bought this cassette when it came out "brand new".ahhh hell I'm getting old but still LOVE it and the HM-2 along with the LHW PEDAL.damn fine pedal I must say.i want one.
Amazing cover!
LHW and Dismember for the win!
God Damn Gord.... super sick!
massive killing cover! ;) \m/
TodericoArt Thanks brother!
This is killer brother! The tone is on point!! Great cover!!
amazing /m/
fucking brilliant!!!!!
Sounds Badass Left Hand Wrath \m/
Amazing sound, feeling and production
Fuck Yes!!!!!
Great cover! I grew up listening a lot to Dismember in the early/mid 90-s. IMHO, they’re at the top of the old Swedish death metal scene. Hopefully they release some new music now when they’ve reunited for a couple of gigs. Never tried that pedal but it sounds like the old hm-2 and you nailed that sound.
Thanks! Me too, I grew up listening to 90's DM as well, and Dismember were a huge part of that! I'm also hoping for new material from them!
This pedal, it can do the HM-2 sound perfectly, but it's a little more controlled and easier to use I find. Plus it will do some tones that the original HM-2 can't do. Awesome pedal!
@@GordOlson Thanks for the tip, I will look for it. HM-2 (MIJ) in good condition are getting a bit difficult to find and are often pretty expensive, at least here in Sweden. Boss should re-release that pedal.
@@anders2077 I totally agree. I'm hoping for a Waza Craft HM-2 soon!
great cover man, and great vocals!!!!! what cabs have you used for guitars?
Thanks! I think... I'm pretty certain, I was just using a standard Marshall 4x12 cab with T75 speakers for this one.
@@GordOlson Ok, thanks, beautiful guitar sound!
You absolutely nailed it! \m/
I need to know your setup bro as this is fantastic. Just a single guitar left, right and another in the centre? Or did you double track?
Thanks man, it's actually just two guitar tracks, one left, one right. that's it!
@@GordOlson Much appreciated fella, I'm gonna crank my HM-2 the moment I get home and get writing.
This sounds so good! What pickups are in that guitar?
Thanks! They are the EMG 57/66 set.
perfect cover bro i likeeeeeeeeeeeee from france !!!
YEEEEAAAAAHHHH I LIKE YOU SCREAMS
BRUTAL!!!!
Sick!!
Killer man. Do you mind sharing your Amp and pedal settings with me ??
On the pedal, everything was maxed except the gain was at 50%. The amp, I'm not sure, I don't remember. But it was on the Orange (crunch) channel, I know that. Not a lot of gain on the amp, but some. lol Sorry can't be more specific!
@@GordOlson thank you anything is a help . Much appreciated
killer
WOW that's a awesome video and great 🎸 Playing and soloing . Gord Can do one every three weeks man it's been some time now . 👍🎸🤘. LoL TroyFrost / Troyster 😎 CoolRiffs 😎 Cool 🎸 🤘🤘 🤘
Amp and cabsim settings?
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Guitar in drop?
No, it's C standard.
@@GordOlson perfect, good cover. Excelent
Sounds cool but I couldnt possibly give my money to a guy who seems to be pretty nasty online. Plus youre paying 300$ for one sound
Cole Lewis Thanks man, and I get that, but let me say that in all my dealings with Joe, he has been nothing but super cool to me, and he even explained what was going on with that online stuff, and there's definitely a reason for it. Two sides to every story, for sure..
And besides all that, I personally don't really care if someone's personality isn't exactly aligned with my own... nobody's an angel! haha You're buying a great piece of gear, that's all! And actually, this pedal is much more versatile than the original HM-2, with the extra diodes and blending option, you can get more than the standard HM-2 tone. Even though that tone is utterly glorious! And a good quality MIJ HM-2 can go for almost that price in some places. There are other options out there, but personally, I'm super stoked on this pedal, and that's all that matters to me in the end. Cheers!
Beautiful in all the ways beauty is not.. Love it. Awesome brings me back to 1991 and being 19 again
The first half of the 90's was a magical time!
