Elvis was inducted into every hall of fame Rock, R&B, Gospel, Country&Western and Pop.
Yes Elvis did country too...Just Pretend, Make The World Go Away, lots, and they are of course done his way!
Country music used to be called “Hillbilly” music, and early in his career Elvis was called “The Hillbilly Cat”. “Trying To Get To You” is a country song. So is “Love Me”. Elvis is in the Country Music Hall Of Fame, as well as the Rock & Roll, R & B, Gospel, Memphis, Mississippi Musicians,…. Halls Of Fame.
Elvis always my favorite, beautiful generous soul
The sit-down segments of the 68 Special are the purest Elvis you'll get. Just him and a guitar, with a few friends, are how he did things regularly. After shows, sometimes 2 a night, He would have his back up singers, The Sweet Inspirations, come sing with him gospel songs until early in the morning hours. Elvis ALWAYS practiced his craft. He sang two songs at his piano, the morning he died. One of them Unchained Melody, the other Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.
He also used this song to open his 1970 Las Vegas concerts.one of my favorite records by Elvis is called "Elvis Country".
Make The World Go Away. Is a great country vibe by Elvis!!!!
Elvis is in the Country Hall of Fame as well as Rock and Gospel Hall of Fames. The only one in all 3.
Have you watched his Vegas Performance of, Just Pretend? I think all his 1956 and early 1957 performances on TV are historic because it was his first year of fame, and it was historic fame. He handled it so well, given his age, background and all the negative publicity he was receiving. None of the established older singers didn’t know yet that he was an excellent singer or that his fame would last.
A great song on Elvis country is “ Just Pretend.”
He did many country songs and yes you are right This is Rockabilly from 2954!!!
When they were recording the Jam Session for the 68 Comeback Special, Elvis did 2 different Preformances before Live Audience's, They just kept the Camera's Rolling, So Elvis and his guys would go from one Song to another and sometimes just mess around for the fun of it, Tigerman was just a filler Jam in this preformance.
This is a List of Some of the Songs, Make sure the time stamp matches to get the right version.

1968 in black leather is awesome. But most of his 1970 live performances are also very cool! And yes, Elvis did country music, as well as blues, gospel, pop etc
Love your reaction! Elvis Presley admired a rhythm and blues singer Named Rüfüs Thomas Jr. who, like Elvis, was born in Mississippi and moved to Memphis Tennessee. Rufus Thomas what the first musician to record 'Tiger Man (King of the Jungle)' in 1953 for Sun Records.
Elvis himself stated that the first thing he saw was the Grand Ole Opry. He also started out at the Louisiana Hayride. He started out in the country charts.
Elvis was into Rockabilly genre earlier in his career. Actually Rockabilly is just another term for " jacked up hillbilly music lol.
Totally agree man, be sure and check out the opening number from this history making performance, "Trouble/Guitar man", will blow your mind. Thanks you rock.
Elvis was inducted to 5 different hall of fames
1. Rock
2. Rockabilly
3. Gospel
4. Country
5. R & B
PS: He is the only artist to ever do that.
You're sharp so you've heard enough Elvis to know he transcended genres. When he started out he'd record Blues songs with Country instrumentation and Country songs with blues rhythms. No one knew what to make of him. Rock n Roll started out as a mixture of RnB, Gospel and Country. RCA packaged Elvis LPs with a mixture of genres. You can often tell a Country song by it's title. One such song with performance is Make the World Go Away by Presley, Vegas '70. My own music request, however, is still from the '68 Special. That's for the stand up medley of 3 songs featuring Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, and All Shook Up. You haven't yet taken the full measure of the Special.
Elvis recorded, and transformed many original country songs right from the beginning of his career. The country song “Blue Moon of Kentucky” was a hit by him very early. This song “Tiger Man”, was not actually part of the original broadcast, but is an outtake. Thanks for sharing!
Elvis country suggestions- From the 68’ special “gentle on my mind”, “Blue Moon of Kentucky”, “I forgot to remember to forget” and “make the world go away” and “im so lonesome I could cry”.
Edit- I think you meant square dancing btw 👍
His country is awesome. Try "washed my hands in muddy water"
Elvis actually made country music sound cool!
This would be more Rockabilly genre, fused with Rock and Blues abs Country! haha You just cannot pin Elvis to a music genre. He just DOMINATED music genres. I would of LOVED to see him in the hip hop genre. He would have been in there too. Listening to Guitar Man and Trouble its clear that he would have done incredibly well.
Elvis had a huge country repertoire. He was actually voted 12 greatest country singer of all time (I'd put him higher).
PS: a great country song is "Tomorrow never comes," a 4 minute studio recording.
Moody Blue is an Elvis recording that most people are not familiar with but it's one of my favorites. Check it out. Ya never know...
Elvis sang rock n roll , rhythm and blues ,country ,gospel , rock a billy,,and he is in all 5 hall of fames, no one else is in so many hall of fames. Plus he has sold more than a billion records .and starred in 31movies.
Actually it's 6 he is also in the Pop Hall of Fame
It's got a rockabilly feel.
Elvis did country albums. Check out the live performance -1970 I think-song called make the world go away.
Elvis actually made it in the country hall of fame in the later 90's Awesome reaction my man 💪🏿
LONG BLACK LIMOUSINE) FIND THE VIDEO THAT SHOWS
PART OF HIS FUNERAL
WHEN YOU WATCH THAT IN 1977 ITS STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN IN THE HEART. GONE TOO SOON.💫
He was truly one of a kind... pitch perfect... looks, personality he had it all...
It sounds like a country song that Elvis jacked up
He could literally sing you the "Poisons Warming Label" on a laundry detergent box. And it'd be pure joy in his delivery. A rare, rare ability. 😂🥃
That's so true 😆
You picked up on the Fifties vibe correctly. These are the same musicians who were on the Sullivan show with him a dozen years earlier.
This is the first what they call unplugged . MTV started unplugged in the 80's. This special already did it in 68. The same special if you can react to the Gospel number and Memories
I just adore Elvis in this black leather suit... I would have been screaming too if I were sitting right there next to Elvis performing 😆. This comeback special really showcased his personality and his generosity as a performer, it gives me goosebumps...
Yes, Elvis does country. Two of his albums “Elvis Country” and “From Elvis in Memphis”. There are more, my mind just isn’t working right now.
Listen to Lawdy Miss Clawdy, which is also from the 68 special. A great tune!
Knowing How much you love Elvis and his Backup Singers and Big Instrumentals, I can't believe you haven't done Elvis Presley
"AMERICAN TRILOGY"

The 68 comeback special era is my favorite too. Thanks great reaction
LOVE YOUR TALK❤❤
Great reaction! Now check out “Mystery Train/Tiger Man” live, Las Vegas 1970! Phenomenal!
Yes, This is the Version every one Loves.
He covered so many genres of music he truly was iconic one of a kind amazing as always thank you for your reaction and review
Oh he’s Country! He sang 100’s of songs and if he wasn’t crooning he was crying! With so many genres he sang gives him the title they call the *King*.
Yes he has a country album too its called Elvis country check it out also check out Susan when she tried great song
Rufus Thomas originally recorded Tiger Man on Sam Phillips’ Sun Records label. It’s rumored Elvis recorded Tiger Man back when he was at Sun. There’s documentation of the song being recorded. Most likely the tapes were lost.
Name the genre and Elvis most likely sang it. Check out some of these if you'd like to react to some of his country songs:
"Kentucky Rain" - Elvis Presley (3:22)
Elvis Presley - I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water (Official Audio) (5:22)
Elvis Presley - It's Your Baby, You Rock It (3:04)
Elvis Presley - A Hundred Years From Now (1:43)
And for a couple live performances:
Elvis Presley - I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry (Aloha From Hawaii) (2:06)
There Goes My Everything - Elvis Presley (That's The Way It Is) [CC] (2:59)
Have you heard, JAILHOUSE ROCK?
Have you reacted to his performance of Jailhouse Rock, in the 1957 movie Jailhouse Rock? They let him choreograph the dancing.
Country? Elvis has a great version of "Green Grass of Home"
I love every Elvis performance, as he could do no wrong in my eyes from a musical standpoint. However I always felt Tiger Man was missing something and Elvis being the musical genius he was added Mystery Train to Tiger Man and that created Mystery Train Tiger Man. My favorite version is from 1970, not sure if you’ve reacted to it yet, but it’s amazing. Great reaction!
☮️✌🏽🤲🙏🇺🇸
I love the Comeback Special too! ❤
Please react to Elvis- American trilogy live in honalulu
Great reaction..have you heard any blues yet? If not you should check out..Stranger In My Old Hometown x rated..if you don't mind a few cuss words. I'm 72 and I love it !! Thanks ✌️
Please check out * 1970 live in Las Vegas ELVIS: That’s The Way It Is Show ( Mystery Train/Tiger man 3:21 ) a much different vib goes crazy!!
This might be slightly off topic but Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a huge fan of Elvis.
During his wrestling days he bit off some of Elvis's style and swag.
He added some of it to his own personae.
The sideburns. The Smackdown Hotel catchphrase. The leather outfit and guitar.
Their leather outfits were 🔥
The Rock was definitely influenced by The King.
Please react to elvis trouble/guitar man 68 comeback Special opening number
It was suppose to be like a jam session
He was just jammin’!
Try Just Pretend Vegas 1970...a great Elvis Country Song.
Elvis in black leather soooo sexy. React to If I Can DreM My Wzy, American Trilogy if you haven't already
The thing is with ELVIS, genres are ALWAYS FUSED. Country/BLUES/ROCK and splashed with GOSPEL. EVERYTHING has gospel in it. That was the true genius of the man. He was AUTHENTIC in each genre. No other performer can say that. And that's why someone who can't stand the blues or gospel or country music can LOVE ELVIS. Chances are he dominates in a genre or two YOU DO LIKE, and you wind up opening up a bit more to the genre you previously never listened to. Its his VOICE and PASSION and AUTHENTICITY. Noone had that. Hell even Michael Jackson didnt master that many genres. Prince was I think the closest you can get since he was blues, rock, Pop and he could play the guitar too, so a LEGITIMATE MUSICIAN like Elvis. So its REALLY tough to find a PURE COUNTRY song from Elvis where he doesn't fuse other genres. One of his very best: "Help Me Make It Through the Night" ua-cam.com/video/OwgFmM0krb8/v-deo.html
Another Beautiful Elvis Country Song
"Gentle On My Mind"
ua-cam.com/video/qskjLOhl3us/v-deo.html
Thanks for all the great reactions. You get how unique Elvis was and is. I hope you’ll consider watching and reacting to these videos. I only watch Elvis reactions on UA-cam and I see a lot of reactions to these songs but not these versions. Hope you appreciate them. God bless.
ua-cam.com/video/PU0kuKPDMkc/v-deo.html Fever live 1973. You had a laugh at love me tender this one will make you laugh as well. He sure knows how to play an audience.😍
ua-cam.com/video/Qp81bXvrl7w/v-deo.html mystery train/tiger man. This is such a great version of tiger man and I’ve only seen one person react to it.
ua-cam.com/video/aNYWl13IWhY/v-deo.html hound dog from October 1956. Another one that will put a smile on your face just because he knows how to get the audience going.
ua-cam.com/video/WoqVFEE1UBY/v-deo.html this is a clip of him, breaking down in laughter while performing live. It’s only audio, but it is hilarious.
It sounds like it may have been a request. He didn’t know the words.
You can tell that it's hard for him to be still. He needs to move.
Square dancing?
Shake a Hand by Elvis is a great song. Don't think there are any live performances of the song
