How fortunate we were to young during the 80s & 90s. Looks like it’ll be a long time coming before the world hears the likes of this kind of musical expression again. Life seems to happen in cycles so I hope it one day does bless other generations. But at least that have these and many other timeless classics to listen to and savor.
That was their best time to me. Saw them 92 in a much too small venue in Berlin by chance. It was tight, smoky, loud...it was fantastic. I got stoned just by breathe in the air.😊
Wow. This happened exactly 28 years ago, to the day. I was a freshman in hs back then. 1993 was such a beautiful time in my life, and the music that influenced me was amazing.
I was in high school in the 70s when great rock and roll was everywhere. Then the 80s hit and many of my favorite bands that were still together went top 40/MTV. There was some good music but very little rock and roll. I was working in classic rock radio and I cried when I heard the Black Crowes. Real rock and roll. Love their new record!

If you had the occasion to see the Crowes in concert during this era, congratulations. You can die knowing that, for at least one night, you bore witness to what was the greatest rock band on the planet at that moment in time.
Some nights were hit or miss. The Oakdale in CT on the three snakes tour was off kilter all night. Luckily the 8 other shows I saw in the 90s were great
They were one of the best bands live for years.i saw them 23 times in the span of 3 years. Lol. So yea I was a fan. Never saw them in anything less than the 3rd row. THANK YOU FURTHER!
I wonder if Robinson is still doing anything? I never really hear anything about the Black Crowes touring? I guess I should look it up huh? I would love to see these guys again. I mean there's bands like Duran Duran and Bush, and Billy Idol and even Def Leppard, they're still out there trying it. He'll Deep Purple only has a couple of guys left and they are out there to ring just the last few months ago. LOL. But this stuff here was great music I would love to go see it live again
Wish I d be a 90's concert goer, but I feel I got the best of my decade too and I have had some unforgettable concerts. They really rock, I love their music, loud and calm, both very awesome.
What makes this performance so much better is the gift of time.... I was 17 when TBC SYMM came out ant it seemed like a storm of Southern Rock that needed to shake up the hair rock of that time - and they for sure did. Now, a full thirty years later, that effort totally stands test of time as the most influential sound of its kind. we spent so many hours at related concerts and Chris and Rich always bring a smile to our faces.
I vividly remember that weekend : most of the mid and lower east coast of the US was either abnormally chilly (i.e. Florida, where this is shot) and/or getting several inches of snow or heavy winds and cold: there was a Blizzard that blew thru Atlanta , where I was (Black Crowes home town ) - about a foot of snow , great times !!!
Saw them this week. Still amazing. Saw them last year… cried they were so good. Saw them at age 14 in the 90s (stepdad knew the manager of Lulu’s bar in Kitchener Ontario) ….good god.
The first number, No Speak, No Slave absolutely rocks and sets the tone. I like the studio version on Southern Harmony, but this live version is amazing...
1 of my aunts bought my cousin and I tickets for Xmas when they were opening for ZZ Top. Great show🤘🏻Aunt & cousin have both passed, but still have the memories🤘🏻
This was such a monumental show for MTV. I recorded the entire thing on VHS and wore it out. So glad this show in particular found its way here. Soul Asylum, STP, Living Colour, Lenny Kravitz, Black Crowes... every single one of them brought it like this was their one and only shot. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I saw this - and taped it (VHS) - when MTV first aired it. I was already a huge Crowes fan and had seen them once after Shake Your Moneymaker was released (awesome show). But when I saw this performance my jaw absolutely dropped. They took things to a whole new level from ‘92-‘97. During that 5 year run they were the greatest rock n roll band on earth. Unfortunately, they were never as purely great after ‘97 once Marc Ford and Johnny Colt left the group.
Their VHS/DVD "Who Killed That Bird..." is outstanding as well. They had some OUTSTANDING songs/albums, but "Southern Harmony and Musical Companion" is one of the most underrated albums Ive ever heard.

I remember me and my girl got tickets inside this really cool rock and roll Club North of Detroit. Their first album had just went crazy and they were still doing those clubs. There was probably a total of four or five hundred people in there, and we got a high bar stool table just passed the main floor so we're like the front row 3 feet above everybody else is head, literally only about 30 ft away from this stage and these guys came out and played every damn song on their first album. Even a couple of other covers. I think one of them was a Rolling Stones tune. Everybody thought Chris Robinson was channeling Mick Jagger big time. It was a great night various back when rock and roll needed a real jolt. The canned grunge style was already playing out by '93.
When music changed direction these guys came out straight like a 70s band nothing flashy no gimmick just good old rock n roll I had the privilege to see them on the anniversary of shake your money maker tour when dirty honey open one of the best shows I’ve seen
