One of the very few bands that deserve some attention of the last 2 decades. In this case, I would say, a very good one. Great sound, original enough, great tone, simple, to the point. Together with The Black Crows, probably the greatest band in the past 25 years.
Does the guitarist's on-stage style remind anybody here at all of Jack White? His tone is similar, all dirty and such, and he plays with a rawness that I find in a lot of Jack White's work.
I know your comments extremely old, but both Dan Auerbach and Jack White were inspired by the same artists and are from the same type of underground scene basically, it just took the Black Keys a hell of a lot longer to get recognized. Makes sense that they sound similar.
I agree. Anyone that thinks that disrespet to anyone that has paved the way for many musicans of any genra just needs to reflect on what is right. I don't like country music or rap that much, but there is value and art in the work. I may not like it but I don't disrepect it.
this is so true, I first heard and noticed their music just after they released Rubber Factory, I have thoroughly enjoyed their music, and enjoyed their quiet *except on stage* rise to fame
there are very few truly original songs on the planet. When you here one you know it instinctively. Any artist will tell you they cop a groof, rif or vibe from songs in their memory bank all the time. Sometimes intentionally but most times not...
This song is stolen from a romanian band named "Iris" and the song that i'm talking about is "Floare de iris". Just listen to it and you'll see I'm right. By the way , Iris is a band formed in the early 80's and "Floare de iris" was released in 1988.
I think you missed my original point, so here it is in terms you may understand. Actually, I'll pose it as a question... Do you think "Little Black Submarines" will be iconic in our culture the way "Stairway to Heaven" is/was? Cool, thanks.
+Susana Serrano If you watch a bunch of live videos, you'll often notice that he doesn't. As a former fan of the Keys, until seeing them live, this is because they're not actually that great at their instruments live, and/or wrote more complicated pieces than they are capable of performing in a live setting, and/or it seems as if they lack the confidence to play their own songs how they were meant to be. If you watch their oldest videos, Dan wasn't afraid to tear it up on guitar, but Pat has always been kind of mediocre at drums. Since they got popular though, it's like Dan is afraid to really try anything on guitar. Sometimes he'll do something fancy, but it's never as tight as the album version and he doesn't typically wander or improv at all. He sticks to the script and then moves on, but usually they omit/skip over the best solos which is a huge disappointment. Saw them live in St Louis a few years ago and it kind of ruined the illusion for me. They were lousy, and didn't sound tight at all. They are a studio band, and it was more than apparent that they didn't want to be on stage when I saw them. Some bands have an energy live, and a quality that makes them unique... The Black Keys is not one of those bands. They are a studio band first and foremost, and it really seems as if they don't want to be on stage at all half the time, which is really disappointing from the standpoint of a music fan.
+HCPwny It's disappointing from the standpoint of a concert fan. A real music fan cares about the final result of a record, not about live performances as much.
Rolling Stone magazine also called the Jonas Brothers the next Beatles and Justin Bieber the wonder kid. I've learned to tune their opinion out. Also, look at the bands that have been creeping up in the charts lately. The Avett Brothers - a country-folk group. The Lumineers - Indie-folk-rock. Adele - jazzy soul blues. Mumford and Sons - pure folk (They were also hanging out with Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan before they even put out their second album). Things are changing.
If its the same Key as Stairway, which I think it is, with a similar tempo, which it has, it's got every chance of sounding similar, it's blues rock. I like it!
Can't lie. First time i heard it i thought it sounded smilar to stairway to heaven. I consider that a good thing. I expect much greater things to come from these guys.
The contrast between the A and the A minor is truly awesome

Hands down the best version of this song, I never get tired of it
One of the most underrated sound and band of the last 20 years.
They, like, won a Grammy for this album...
It’s fine, they’re a gem to those that appreciate their music
They are nowhere near underrated lmfao what are you talking about?
SH HS oknlhun 😐👿👇
Wait, ask normal people who the black keys are and then ask them who Taylor swift is. They are over rated in your small conceited group of friends.
I listened to this song last week for the first time. Instant favorite
What I love the most about this video is how it makes you feel like you were there. It captured the energy.
They were absolutely stunning this week in Amsterdam!!!
fuck this is a brilliant performance
OMG, only sensitive souls truly comprehend this masterpiece ❤️🥰
I love the build-up in this song; guitar-vocals - bassdrum kicks in - all hell breaks loose
This is exactly what I wanted, I love this song, but I always wanted the softer intro to last a bit longer into the song.

That man is exactly where he is meant to be. Dan Auerbach is one of the greatest musicians of our generation.
if you like them I recommend you Red Can. Glad I found them a few days ago. Great lyrics and guitars. And sound really different.
Seeing these guys live for the first time in January, can’t wait!

Dude, I'm old, and old school metal, but these guy's are legit!! Oh yeah!
This in no way sounds like house of the rising sun or the musical genius such as tom petty . They are their own . The black keys
Outstanding!
pero todo el mundo sabe.. que un corazón roto es ciego.
That is one awesome looking guitar!
R.I.P. David Vanbuskirk SAR hero, this song will forever remind me of you and your heroic actions.
Is it just me or is this Stairway to Heaven minus half of the chording? I love it, but there is definitely a Stairway vibe
For sure. Many 'Stairway' moments in this one for sure.
I think it sounds more like behind blue eyes by The Who
@@raiannymagalhaes6813 in short. It has taken the vibe of quite a few songs I guess :-)
The major difference between Little Black Submarines and Stairway to Heaven is that Dan can actually play guitar
