Yo, Chance! I said if I was doing my exhaust this winter I'd use your video and man thanks for making this. Me and buddy got it done in a couple hours this afternoon and this video helped soooo much. She sounds so rowdy! And will spit flames!
Great vid. Didn’t know if anyone else pointed this out to you but you installed the cylinders/spacers wrong on the bracket on the bottom of the frame. That last cylinder does not just act as a washer. It is tight but it fits on the inside space with the longer cylinder and the black bracket. Just FYI
He did it right. The way you tried to explain to do it leaves no room for everything. I literally just installed this exhaust and tried it your way and didn’t work. I did it the way the video showed and voila
The smaller cylinder goes on the inside, it is not a washer. I just installed the exhaust yesterday and it does fit. Thinking of it logically, the other two pieces are free floating with the small gap. You would also be applying torque to the oem bracket with nothing to compress on. If you over torque, you could snap the bracket. There is another video on UA-cam that shows it done correctly or the yoshi instructions.
@HyderMirza12 I've tried everything and that smaller piece barely fits in that spot without the bracket. I can't for the life of me get it to squeeze in with the bracket. Any tips?
Thanks for the great vid! Just installed this on my 2024 Ninja 650, the sound difference is incredible! Went from sounding like a supped up lawn mower to a racing beast. Next up is ECU flash, Moore Mafia looks like a good choice to help max performance.
@@CHANCE_MOTO That's good to hear, I may wait a while and just see how it does before flashing. Don't need the extra performance, just wasn't sure if anyone had mechanical issues by not flashing, which a local dealer recommended.
@@CHANCE_MOTO So curiosity killed the cat and I went ahead and had the ECU flashed by Moore Mafia (recommended by my dealership). WOW! What an incredible difference, the bike not only sounds better but it feels way more responsive and for some reason smoother to shift. For me the bike is absolutely perfect now, couldn't be happier!
Very good point about the wearing of gloves. Not until after your first few rides that the exhaust starts looking terrible form all the burn human oil :)
Perfect start to finish video. Very well done and thanks for explaining all details. Would it be easier to install mid pipe to exhaust springs before installing midpipe? Just seems really tight and awkward pulling those springs in tight area
Would love to install one on my '09 Ninja 650, but the Yoshimura website only goes back to 2012. Not really sure if some other year would be compatible. Enjoyed your video. Changing out mufflers is not as complicated as I assumed it would be before watching.
Kinda sucks that they don’t but maybe call their customer support to see if it’s compatible. Although it dis take me a while to get these because it was on back order for some time. Glad the video was helpful, ride safe! 🤙
I forgot to mention the torque for the 4 header nuts is 12-13 ft lbs. The audio doesn’t fully capture how loud the Yoshi actually is but it does come with a baffle if you ever want to put that on 😅
Hi Chance, Did you flash your ECU yet? If you did, where is the ECU and how difficult was it to get to the ECU? We appreciate your videos. Thanks! Mark
@@markvidensek960 Hey Mark, unfortunately I did not get a flash or remove the ECU to get it tuned yet. I most likely will in the future but it is underneath the tank. Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for being here!
I found my exhaust pipe stuck out to the side quite far. Would be vulnerable in a tip over. Is there a way of aligning it so it runs alongside and closer to the swingarm Did you get decel pops? I also changed out the stock air filter for a DNA high flow. I blocked the Pair valve to stop the decel pops. I also sent my ECU to MAS CYLCE SERVICE here in BC Canada. He did the flash Haven’t had a chance to ride it yet due to weather but I’ll send an update. Should be awesome.
The only way I can think of is to see if the end pipe is fully seated and turn it in a bit but I think even mine would take a dent if it tipped over on the right. Also, I do have decel pops and that's awesome that you get a tune, definitely keep me updated!
Man this is what I was looking for, I got my 650 at the end of last year, first bike, looking to mod it up this summer and I'm by no means a mechanical guy. So when it comes to exhaust systems and specifically how the 650 is designed not being able to use a slip on in 5 mins I get worried ill buy the wrong shit or fuck up some how.
Hey Chance thanks for the video! I had a few questions that im struggling to find answers to. Did you have to tune your bike at all after installing this? I just bought a 2023 Z650 do you know if this would fit?
Glad it helped! No I did not tune my bike and imo it does not need to be tuned unless you want the most optimal performance for this exhaust. I’ve had no issues with it not being tuned. As for the fitment, it should fit since they really haven’t changed the engines but I would check check with the place you order it from.
You might be able to pull it slightly or turn the mid pipe at a different angle but I had this issue when I was first riding and just relaxed my foot on it. Idk if I ride different or picked my foot up, I don’t have that issue anymore riding on the balls of my feet
