I've been eagerly awaiting this video for the past 3 days! Very good advice! One thing to remember about self-help videos is that often, the person making them is trying to sell you something. One sales tactic (which you don't use, and neither do the people that we both gravitate to) is to convince the viewer that they're a mess, but if they just sign up for what's being sold, they might be redeemable. So there can be some subtle (or not so subtle) manipulation going on, to deliberately make the viewer feel bad about themself.

So true Rebecca, one of my best friends (an ISTP) is always beating himself up because he's not yet where he wants to be. It's like there's a dark cloud of shame hanging above him. The big question is: How to find the path to escape the self-improvement trap? I think we should appreciate the progress we made so far, even if it feels like we are moving towards our vision in turtle speed. And if it's like we are not making progress at all, we can still pat ourselves on the back for not giving up our quest for self-improvement. The Reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark :)
Aww please tell your friend to go easy on himself! Seems to be an ISTP theme. They are so hard on themselves, and yet they are such magnificent creatures. 🥹 Yeah, that is the million dollar question! I think it all boils down to radical acceptance mixed with the knowing that we will always strive for better, so we don't have to push so hard.
