At the bare minimum, I nod my head in acknowledgment of people when I pass by them. Completely ignoring them is just rude. If I saw someone like you smiling at me as we passed, I would nod my head to you and give a smirk while wondering if she smiled because she found me attractive or was just being friendly. I would probably not get my hopes up and think the latter lol.
A nod is nice! Yeah, it's strange when people don't do anything, but then again, maybe they've got a lot of their minds. Just seems to be the majority of people are like that when it used to be the opposite. And about the attraction, hey, you never know! But to your point, yes, my smiles are generally a friendly acknowledgement of a fellow human (although, it definitely could open a conversation and something could build from there...but people rarely want to talk beyond the acknowledgement).

Actually people here in Seattle are pretty apt to return smiles, unlike the stereotype. Maybe it's just they're in a really good mood when the sun finally comes out!? I'm reminded of the saying (which I'm sure you've heard) "Keep smiling--it makes people wonder what you've been up to!"

No, it’s not just you. “It’s America baby. . .” We are a house divided. Political tensions probably don’t help either. Then again, I’m a politics junky. So maybe I’m projecting. Maybe it’s better framed as uncertain times. And people are feeling insecure. I’m sorry this happened to you. Given your positive disposition, that reaction must be frustrating. Perhaps it’s even hurtful. Personally, I always return the smile. But I do l in a very small town. Where cordiality is not yet completely dead. But I would not be honest, if didn’t admit that I would have been shocked,. When you did not solicit me in one way or another. So I wonder that prejudice might have had something to do with how people responded to you. It’s a shame when a random act of kindness, even giving grace, is met with suspicion or hostility. 😊 🕊️➕❤️

Today, we live in a society that takes offense to anything, or is uncomfortable with simple things that used to make this country great. I say “Hello…I hope you have a wonderful day!” to random people I cross paths with at the grocery stores, or if I’m riding my bike on the Little Miami River Scenic Trail, as I’m passing people. I don’t expect them to respond, but most of them have, which is nice to hear. Anything to lift people up with a simple message to make them feel noticed. “We don’t know one another, but I see you, and I wish you well!” Sometimes, conversations are born out of those moments, at the grocery store. It’s cool when that happens! In today’s society, we just never know who might take offense, feel uncomfortable, or who will accept, receive, and respond with their kindness. Keep spreading the sunshine you have within you.

Of course! This is more my shock at the amount of people and times this has happened. I can tell the world has drastically changed from the one I grew up in and it makes me sad. I am forever giving without expectation and will continue to do so. Blessings. 🌟

Politics is ruining human nature
It is, unfortunately, divisive, so I steer clear of it on my channel. I want this to be a safe space where we are brought together through our collective humanity despite all of our differences. There are so many things affecting us and our humanity, and yes, politics is definitely one of them.😮💨

I grew up in the 80’s and never heard of Sylvester before either. I just listened to several tracks. And I really wouldn’t describe it as 80s music. Maybe he was still recording new music in the 80s. One track perhaps was a fusion of Disco and 80s Tina Turner. If I heard any of it on the radio at the time, I would have thought it was 70s disco. By 81 or 82 disco was more or less done. Perhaps there was some holdout for it in clubs. But I’ve never heard anyone describe disco as 80s music before.
I meant the album came out in the 80's. Mutual Attraction was released in 1986. I added a comma to my title (Disco, Synthpop...) so people knew I meant anyone interested in disco *or* 80s Synthpop might enjoy my rant. Yes, disco is 70s, Synthpop 80s... Sylvester had success with disco in the 70s but this album was released in the 80s, hence my inclusion of both decades and genres. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Perspective is everything, isn’t subjective reality alllllll the fun?! I look at blame like a grappling hook. Many times, people assign blame to themselves or others because they have an avalanche of various feelings they are processing and it’s like trying to scale an emotional building, so to speak. Blame is a tool in their toolbelt to grip on to the building, to feel like they are making movement. Think of what a grappling hook does. Throw it out, it anchors and holds, and you can move. Up, down, side to side. And you’re right, blame often isn’t helpful, but it feels like progress and movement to assign it. Unfortunately, we humans aren’t great at “no fault” situations, takes us a bit to get there. Keep spreading your love and light, beautiful spirit sister. ❤

I wonder if connecting is a female way of resolving issues. Most guys withdraw to their man-cave or anpother place to spend time alone. When I'm down, I prefer to go to the river nearby and row in my single to become zen again.
