I’m so glad I have found your channel...there is so much complicated information out there... it can make you feel overwhelmed... I’ve been growing for personal use, but decided to start growing for Farmer’s markets, so I appreciate your easy approach.
You nailed it . I did everything wrong that you explained on my first tray . Massive dirt canopy lift . Seed hulls galore . 10 days under weight/ no water . 12 hour soak instead of 6 .
I Recommend using a slightly Thicker Holed Colander , Add Coir and Tap sides of Colander, In 10 seconds you can make the perfect Cover of soil on top 😉
This is a great demo so thank you. I was doing great when I started but this last year cilantro has really giving me a run for my money and I just can't seem to get back in the groove.
Been using Happy Frog Soil since it's organic and comes with its own nutrients, but seeing your beet grow do so well, I think I might have to try cocoa coir.
So... the weight is the key to removing the hulls? I finally got split seeds to germinate after 3 tries and now I have hulls stuck on every cotyledon. So how do I remove them now?
Hi, great content. Question is the nutrient you use the same as ocean solution 2 0 3? I've heard great things about ocean solution but it is out of stock on Amazon. What is ths npk of the nutrient you use?
I'm using a brick of 1.3Kg (2.8pounds) and I was thinking that it was already too much 😅. Do you think your Cilantro would grow like that and "recover" from the initial position if you used only water? Thanks
Hi, we love your video and information. We are just starting growing micro greens, we're newbies! We do have a few questions. Does the water need fertilizer for the everyday watering, or just in the beginning? Also, can we use sifted soil instead of buying the coir? If we don't buy the coir, can we eat the hulls as more fiber to eat? Thank you for your help! Signed, The Newbies!
We keep the dehumidifier at 40%. In the summer it’s on all the time, but in the winter the humidity stays around 35% on its own without any help of the dehumidifier.
Can't o just place the seeds in a tub similar to yourself here, then place good soil, then add the seeds but place on top a paper plate with weights on top? Will that work? Haha 😂🙏
You said "after 24hrs under light"....do you actually put them under light for 24hrs? And, love the channel, you've taught me so much! Getting my own biz off the ground in SoFlo
@@PrincetonMicrogreens wow I need to water mine twice a day, especially broccoli, radish and Sunflower they are completely dry in 12 hours. Is the trick more medium? (40% humid / 70-80 F)
@@christhebestest you might have a lot more airflow going that I do. I keep a very low airflow over the greens themselves but circulate the air more in the room.
@@PrincetonMicrogreens great point, that is true I remember you mentioning your air flow in a previous video. Thank you for the tips, time to experiment!
@@PrincetonMicrogreens do they save the trays for your next dropoff or is that a writeoff? Im new to microgreens. Your videos have been a wealth of knowledge.
@@PrincetonMicrogreens thank you, Im getting some grows in before taking on a business; were in N. Florida snd its nice to grow indoors during the opressive heat outdoors😅
I love flatleaf parsley, and to lesser degree cilantro ... but unless youre growing them outdoors they take waaaaaaaay too long, and tie up rack space better used on stuff with a far faster turnover and maybe multiple harvests (i.e., wheat grass, pea shoots, etc). Parsley dries fabulously well, and is more practical to just buy.
It looks to me like on his rack because if his low side trays he has space to stack these and it indeed appears he did stack the trays to the left where he placed his weighted/covered tray on the shelf but in any case to each his own I almost never use parsley and could literally use Cilantro many times a day in fact I'd put it in almost everything I eat including my kimchee! So I'd toss the parsley outside to fend for itself! Lol no offense.
@@lorenaroma Not to belabor a somewhat subjective point point, but i personally find flatleaf parsley to be a more versatile herb than cilantro because it adds a more neutral bitterness that blends well with a broader array of dishes, whereas cilantro has a more distinctive note - one that a statistically significant percentage of the public tends to find less pleasing because of a very specific gene that determines how their taste buds percieve it. I forget the actual number, but i think it's at least 1 person in 4 who flat out hate the stuff (and no, im not one of them). Also, parsley is like 5x as nutritionally dense, is far less perishable when fresh, and maintains its taste & color far longer then cilantro when dried. Personally, i like cilantro mostly for its stems and seeds (coriander), and less so the leaves. I tend to use it in conjunction with parsley, not instead of it. Anyway, im not really arguing ... just sharing. Cheers.
Hi, question please. If I want to grow only Cilantro microgreen, during their germination period till day 10th and while their seeds are buried and covered, do I need to maintain the room temperature and humidity in this period or doesn't matter? because they are already buried and covered. I am asking this question just to find out if I can save some electricity bill during the first 10 days of their germination. Thanks.
Great info, but count your "uhhs and umms" and you find you can slow down your presentation and end up with a more "professional" presentation. Otherwise...excellent!

Is there any problem with exposing the seedlings to natural sunlight under a 70% shade net after 10 days of germination?
I think it’s okay , i have once tried growing beetroot with only sunlight and they grew as once under grow lights , so it’s the same

Thank you for these videos! When you watered during the middle of germination did you bottom water or spray the top?
You don’t! It’s a myth that you need to water during germination. Make sure the medium is plenty wet when stacking and leave them alone!

Still wondering what you sell the live tray for at the restaurants and your 1 ounce container
Do you use tap water? Do you do any reverse osmosis?
So useful,thanks.
My only question I haven’t seen is how long do you leave your lights on for

What do you sell that for to restaurant?
Coconut Coir "Quar" say it with me. 😂 Your killing me Smalls
Nice grow! how much do you sell 1oz for in your market?
WHERE DO YOU GET THE PLANT WEIGHTS FROM?
how much do the restaurants pay for the live tray?
Love your videos! Can you teach us how to grow in jars or glass with soil?
How many 1 ounce containers do you get out of a tray of cilantro? I've also been wondering the same about basil beet chard and sorrel. Thanks so much
On my Shallow 10x20 trays I Yield around 300 grams / 10 Ounces. I can make 40 trays per 1 lb. of seed i use.

Hey, was wondering, how much do you charge for 2 oz of cilantro? Just want to get an idea
1oz - $6
How many oz do you get from a tray of cilantro?
3-4oz usually, and being that we package them 1oz for $7.... we can get anywhere between $21-$28 per tray on average.
How to you package full trays for your restaurants?
We dont. We just hand them the full tray! :)
