    Learned about waterproof bladders from Dr. Decks video, we did that on our deck last year and love it! I really like the facia idea.

    Doc - i watch some of your video. Nice work!
    So I have a question being you do probably as many decks as I do. Which decking holds up the best out there? I'm in Pennsylvania- Trex is crap in these harsh winter/summer conditions.

    Do youse not mitre your corners? What’s your best opinion the deck I’m building at the moment I can’t stand how mitired picture frame are opening up

    We use lvl beams, longer spans, carry more weight.

    The most important tool I've learned to need as I've rebuilt my own deck from scratch is friends to help you build it. Def not a one man show

    I prefer not putting a border around the entire perimeter of the deck since it visually separates the deck from the house.

    Because this is an exterior structure, facia coverings prevent visual inspections. Not a fan.
