  • Took to the mountains to chase a subspecies of Smallmouth known as the "Little River Bass" which is endemic to the Little River Drainage in the Ouachita Mountains. Mostly used a crawfish imitation, but later swiched to a Golden Retriever with some interesting results!

It’s the Echo Bad Ass Glass 6wt, enough backbone to throw a heavy crawfish fly but limber enough to still have fun with some sunfish!

I’ve caught smallmouth in almost all of the larger rivers (Caddo, Little Mo, Cossatot, Ouachita) and several of the tributaries. Anywhere should be good! My recommendation would be to check the water levels, if it just rained a lot and the big rivers are high, try a creek or tributary, if it’s been dry try one of the main rivers. Good luck!
