Correction: The mod author did credit me in the credits.txt file. I missed that. Apologies if I sounded pretenious in the video. I didn't mean to sound rude about the credits thing.
Great Video Rad! ALSO I want to point out that the reason why the citadel was so shiny is due to the lighting being Baked into the texture itself (They put the lighting in the texture itself) which is why it’s so shiny and the lighting doesn’t change on it. I don’t know why valve did this BUT someone recently did a version of this citadel without all the baked lighting on gamebanana and it looks legit! But yeah that’s about it. That’s your Daily Bogi Fun fact of the day ( GUITAR RIFF)
Thank you for mentioning my mod, 2002 Edition. Though it’s in active development now, I would be glad if you will play the RC3 version. As always, great video, like the old dark and gritty days))
i remember playing "Half-Life 2 Beta-Aesthetics 3.0" last year. it's decent and actually give me this weird déjà vu moment. where i felt like two realities are merging and we somehow got retail and the beta as the final product. i definitely recommend it for people who are already familiar with the series and want to just see how will the beta work when it got more HL2 DNA in it.
I do belive that the citadel model is shiny because of the texture itself. I remember exporting that same exact citadel model somewhere else and if i remember properly there were these shiny effects on the texure sheet. Correct me if i'm wrong!
I like that the author used your music for the mod, I can't blame him for that, it's awesome and it fits the beta aesthetic very well but not crediting you it's pretty bad, not cool at all.
Kinda unrelated, but people seem to only remember 2001-2003 era of the beta, and some even remember the 1999 era, but what happened in the year 2000? I guess nothing notable because nobody talks about that development year.
Very nice! Also, do you plan to make video about Half-Life: Absolute Zero - Post-Mortem Demo? This update is only available on Steam page. It will be really nice to see it.
Man about time 14:09 they used your amazing unmatched beta music (In my UA-cam music wrapped it's like from 2 years you're my top artist btw, and hazard funk it's the top track. I gotta stop listening to that track somehow it always manages to be the top one regardless of my 2000 tracks playlist which is only the main playlist like... I listen to a shit ton of stuff and you're anyway the top artist.)
I believe the creator did credit you for the music if I'm not mistaken. He packed a "credits" text file that contains more credits than what is on the Gamebanana page, there is a soundtrack section in the credits that features multiple people.
UA-cam glitched and said that this video had 276k likes. I like to imagine that this video actually has that amount of likes, because you deserve it. :)
The gun that you said was the earlier version of the MP7 is actually a different gun entirely... the H&K SMG II, which was a real prototype submachine gun.
Hello Radiation Hazard, took me a while to make this mod but I plan to change this up a bit because a lot of this is still currently using 2003 and 2001 Aesthetics Textures. As you mentioned with the city textures being disproportionate. I'm glad you reviewed my mod. I'm as siked as ever that you have reviewed this. I'm planning to get Sgt. Stacker to voice Odell in this mod and he also sent me the map files so I can editing the lighting, which I will get to and edit the lighting to capture the overhaul you were mentioning. And most of the credits are actually stored on the "Credits" text file packed in the mod if you were looking for the credits for your music. I could also start working on a Hyper Aesthetics mod. Solely based on 1999-2000 and Concept stuff. Since you suggested that I think it'd be a great idea if I could pull it off lol
Tbh I think this deep down is what all people really want from the HL2 beta. The story and worldbuilding is pretty obviously better in the release version, but the designs in the beta were really cool.
I love this feeling! I do wish I could use these props and textures along with the normal HL2 assets in Hammer. Image the GMod maps! Edit, I like this style of video! If you do more I would be excited!
I dig this style but I also like the more traditional radhaz videos. Maybe they can co-exist. (Random name suggestion for this type of video; Casual Hazard?) Time to chug that milk btw.
Best thing about the old HL2 aesthetics is that they can somehow make me feel nostalgic for a game that never came out. Dark n gritty for life brother!
Still loving your work, very happy with your growth from a small 800 subscribers to over 54k, keep up all of the great work radhaz, 1m is just down the road
Seems like a very scripted video, yes, yes. Also, I do like the Civil Protection models, they are just nice. Also, for anyone wondering, the "XCCR" sign is actually Cyrillic for "ХССГ" which would transliterate to "HSSG". 11:43 Minor correction: it is actually an MP5k. The K of course meaning Kurz or "short" in English. What I find most interesting about this video is just how much knowledge about the HL2 beta you have off the top of your head. 14:04 Genuinely, not remembering it was yours I thought "that is some pretty good music choice". So, uhh, good job! Also, since this is a live reaction you would not have seen this, but the credits folder does actually credit you for the music.

what the hell skibidi toilet came out in 2002??
Naaa the darker one from 2001 looks much better but this one is good too
good to know where this mod falls on the dark and griddyness scale
Dark and gritty always comes back
Hope we get to see Conscripts with helmets in this mod.
All the conscripts are replaced by the rebels from 2003.
2002 was when the Conscripts died out and got replaced with rebels.
Conscripts weren't really part of 2002, though I still kept them in my mod. I plan to replace them with 2002 rebels in the upcoming update
@@iamjjanimatesNah, no changes. Conscripts better when rebels

It’s where the Old European era takes place…
i think half life 2 beta would took place in America, possibly Washington or Chicago, but they decided to make east europe style

I need a HL2 mod with your music in it, just vanilla Hl2 with your music, that's all.
Btw i made a unofficial 4.0 of beta aesthetics that has 1999-2000 stuff and some leftovers from 3.0 but i never added that one in gamebanana either.
This video felt a bit more disorganized compared to your normal stuff.
Kinda unrelated, but people seem to only remember 2001-2003 era of the beta, and some even remember the 1999 era, but what happened in the year 2000? I guess nothing notable because nobody talks about that development year.
