Carol Burnett is an American treasure, icon, trail blazer. The first woman to headline her own prime time variety hour tv show. Long before French and Saunders came along-carol was the queen of parodies.
Her parodies of classic movies is what made me interested in old movies. I have seen so many of them that I finally decided to watch the originals. Mildred Fierce was her parody of Mildred Pierce. Carol Burnett is such a talented woman
"Went With the Wind" parody had me on the floor laughing. Make sure you are familiar with the original Gone With the Wind movie before watching it and you'll totally get Carol's version. Hysterical.
Carol Burnett is in the series Palm Royale on Apple TV and she is 91. She is truly amazing, Canadian here and I grew up with the Carol Burnett show. My whole family loves her.
Carol was a character, for sure. Her 'Gone with the wind/Tara' sketch is my favorite. I grew up watching the show with my parents. LOL Good family fun.
Growing up in the 70s we needed comedy. Country was in recession. Being on a Sunday everyone dreaded the start of the work or school week looming on the Monday, but Carol Burnette made all of that anxiety totally melt away. Shame we don't have anything like that now.
Carol Burnett is an Absolute Legend! You really need to do a reaction to her skit called "Went With the Wind' (a parody of Gone With the Wind)! BTW, any of her skits called As the Stomach Turns is really funny! LOL
6:36 -- Can you imagine a show nowdays allowing such a magnificent slow burn? It took them over 5 minutes to get to this, and it's one of the funniest moments in American TV.
Excellent example of TV humor back in the day. We used to watch it as a family. She and her cast were brilliant. BP2 surprised us with his own award winning plea, LOL!!!! Cracked me up. Another great job guys.- Hawk
Thanks for doing more Carol Burnett Show!! In the Elephant Sketch Carol played the daughter Eunice who was next to Tim Conway. That entire sketch is worth a revisit. I've seen it so many times and I laugh hard every timeà😂 This one is good too. Another great one is a parody of Gone With the Wind called Went With the Wind.😅
Great reaction! My favourite sketch of theirs is called "Sorry!". Eunice (Carol Burnett), her mother (Vicki Lawrence), and Eunice's husband Ed (Harvey Korman) try to have a fun evening playing the board game Sorry! It hits my funny bone. :)
You can find all sorts of skits like this all over the place and yet when they cancelled the variety shows in the late 60’s or early 70’s the reason given was because no one was interested in that kind of stuff anymore. Another very funny comedian from that time, Red Skeleton, was cancelled so abruptly that he decided if nobody was interested in watching the show when he died his collection of shows would be destroyed. He was a truly amazing actor who started in vaudeville but because he controlled most of his material, there isn’t a lot of his stuff out there anymore. I still remember sunday evening we would watch Red Skeleton then Carol Burnett and the opening sequence of Jackie Gleason and then we would have to get ready for evening church.
This group of people have brought joy and laughter my entire life, I could never get tired of Carol Burnett and Friends! B2, your mellow dramatic interpretation of her desperation was spot on Dude! Loved it.
Check out Went with the Wind parody, from the Carol Burnett Show. And as the stomach turns. There is also a parody of The African Queen. There are so many. The show started in 1967 the year I was born. Ended in 1977. Where I'm from it came on Saturday nights at 10. Check out Carol Burnett Tarzan yell!
Gone With the Wind is the best. Her costume designer Bob Mackey is the best. What he can do with his mind and some cloth is incredible. You must watch this one. I know a lot of people said it. I wanted to say it too. Unbelievably hilarious!
The Rat Race Went With The Wind The Walnuts=Vincent Price is in that one. Sorry; The Family A Dog's Life-Tim gets injected with a dog serum. The Interrogater As The Stomach Turns-The one when Tim Conway is the oldest insurance man & climbs into the picture of the barn on the wall! Mother Marcus-Harvey Korman, this is the first time Carol sees him dressed as Mother Marcus. Vicki is Marian's thought to be dead daughter, (who Tim is looking for😂), returned as Jaimee, with bionics, (Bionic woman). Someone help me with the name of this one.😂 Can't remember the name but everything that Carol tries to open, (after returning home from grocery shopping), gives her "To Open" directions because she can't open it! Too many to name from this legendary show! All the movie parodies that they did were priceless! Carol playing Stella, the oldest woman with horn rimmed glasses! Omyheart! Hilarious! Carol, as Stella and Ruth Buzzy in the audience? Who remembers? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 What about when she plays snow white...😂😂😂😂
They would record the full dress rehearsal in front of a live audience. Once they had it on film as a back up, they could improv. Taping day episode was always bonkers.
You guys must do Carol and Tim doing the "Missus h-Wiggins" and Boss Tudball episodes. Tim is hilarious using a Romanian accent, wearing the "Japanese sportster model" toupee. ( his mother was Romanian in true life )
This skit was brilliant. Other than just being funny, it demonstrated the corrosive nature of exposure to celebrity for the wrong reasons and how the trigger of possible fame can turn normal people into phonies who are removed emotionally from human experience due to the shallowness and selfishness of the exercise. Leave it to Carol and that wonderful show. The humor was always based on real human psychology and experience. Fabulous.
I'd love to see your reaction to the All in the Family series, especially the episodes with Archie Bunker and George Jefferson. During its day, thee show made people laugh at the absurdity of racism by showing two extremes in a comedic way.
Of course, "All in the Family" was an American adaptation of a British classic, "Til Death Us Do Part," just as "Sanford and Son" was an adaptation of "Steptoe and Son" and "Three's Company" an adaptation of "Man About the House." It would be interesting to do a comparison of the American and British versions.
Two of the most popular recurring characters from this show were in the office sketches featuring Mr. Tudball (Tim Conway) and Mrs. Wiggins (Carol) Here is one of the earliest ones: ua-cam.com/video/KIZA7ghxWBQ/v-deo.html
Her "Gone With The Wind" parody is absolute classic comedy.
OMG! Preach it, that one is a must!
I think they called it “Went With the Wind”
Awesome, ❤
It was something I saw in the window...lol
"Thank you, I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist it!"
Carol Burnett is an American treasure, icon, trail blazer.

"Went With the Wind." However, those who have never seen, "Gone With the Wind," will not understand how hilarious it is.
Her parodies of classic movies is what made me interested in old movies. I have seen so many of them that I finally decided to watch the originals. Mildred Fierce was her parody of Mildred Pierce.

Carol is a fenius comedian. Lol
🫰🇺🇸
This unusually dark CB sketch predicted where our culture was going with incredible accuracy.
‘The Palace Guard’ is a hilarious sketch about The Queen and King attempting to enter Buckingham Palace.
Greatest Comedy Show.
Carol was a character, for sure. Her 'Gone with the wind/Tara' sketch is my favorite. I grew up watching the show with my parents. LOL Good family fun.
She's kind of the 2nd most beloved American comedienne behind Lucille Ball.
Her skits portraying the Queen with Harvey Korman as Prince Phillip were hilarious.
“ Let the old bat hit the boat with the bottle Artie”.
Growing up in the 70s we needed comedy. Country was in recession. Being on a Sunday everyone dreaded the start of the work or school week looming on the Monday, but Carol Burnette made all of that anxiety totally melt away. Shame we don't have anything like that now.

You two should see any clip where Carol Burnett plays "The Queen"!
6:36 -- Can you imagine a show nowdays allowing such a magnificent slow burn? It took them over 5 minutes to get to this, and it's one of the funniest moments in American TV.
Next video should be "The Interrogator", featuring Lyle Wagner, Harvey Corman & Tim Conway. Sheer comedy genius!!!😮😅😊
Yup, a wonderfully silly skit.
Well written and well acted. I don't remember this skit so it was a pleasant surprise.
Can't go wrong with a Carol Burnett skit. 😀❤️😀❤️😀❤️😀❤️😀❤️
Yes! MORE Carol Burnett sketches !
I grew up watching The Carol Burnett Show. Absolutely classic.
TheFuneral sketch with Robin Williams is also a good one.
The Elephant story and Went with the Wind were the best.
Excellent example of TV humor back in the day. We used to watch it as a family. She and her cast were brilliant. BP2 surprised us with his own award winning plea, LOL!!!! Cracked me up. Another great job guys.- Hawk

Find the bloopers reel of the hiring of Mrs Wiggins with Tim Conway and Vickie Lawrence. FUNNY!
Need to see the other sketch involving the 'King' and Queen, this time Tim wants a pony instead of a medal for heroism, very funny as well.
Do the sketch, THE OLDEST FIREMAN. Pick the longest clip they have.
Omgosh...I grew up watching this show . As a kid I would crack up. Just genius actors..so funny. Lol
The spin-off of this show is also very funny called "Mama's Family" very funny !
This was one of my favorite Carol Burnett show sketches.
We got to watch that every week; it was a riot. And they have nothing like that today.
I just adore Carol. Another '70s sensation was The Sonny and Cher Show, and the Vamp sketches are fantastic! 🥰😎🤣
This group of people have brought joy and laughter my entire life, I could never get tired of Carol Burnett and Friends! B2, your mellow dramatic interpretation of her desperation was spot on Dude! Loved it.
The 'pail' sketch is hilarious.

HARRY KORMAN (NEWS GUY) IS HILARIOUS IN MEL BROOKS FILM "BLAZING SADDLES" GENIUS COMEDY!!😃😄😆😅😂👍👍👍👍👍
I 'm partial to Carol Burnett's Mrs. Wiggins/Mr.Tudball skits. The door buzzer and intercom skits are 2 of them
You should look up the Undercover Cops skit with Tim and Harvey also. That one is gold! 😂
I've really been enjoying you guys watching these old favorites of mine, as a kid. The 70s had some great comedy shows fr.
Thank you
Went With the Wind is awesome!
Please do more reactions to the righteous brothers!

They would record the full dress rehearsal in front of a live audience. Once they had it on film as a back up, they could improv. Taping day episode was always bonkers.
Jowls is another good parody from the show.
Saturday Nite staple! Not Sunday night. Right after Mary Tyler More and then The Bob Newhart Show.
You guys should watch the elephant skit 😉😂😂😂
Good to see you again, Lads. I really enjoy your videos and your accents. Cheers!🙂
🙏 ❤ 🌹 Harvey 🌹 ❤ 🙏
Guys you also need to check out I love Lucy.

Do Went with the Wind
due to your desperate situation I put up a like.
I think Tracey Ullman is the British equivalent to Carol Burnett
I am quickly becoming a hater of UA-cam
