The Velvet Underground were artistic and also dark at times. Both The Doors and the VU counteracted all that hippie flower power music of the late 60's. Then there's The Stooges.
@@SkyNetGeneral- And The Velvets' influenced so many punk, post punk and alternative bands. And John Cale is to this day, at 80, an amazing singer, songwriter and can play multiple instruments. He played 12 instruments on Nico's album The End. With the Velvets' four albums there was no loss of quality and musical diversity. Even when Cale left after White Light, White Heat. Squeeze was awful but Lou was gone and it was basically Doug Yule and session musicians. Love me some Lou Reed solo as well. The Doors did have a down turn in quality with The Soft Parade and Jim's drinking didn't help but they did get it back big time. Also The Stooges were a proto punk holocaust that was needed. I love intense music as well. Iggy was influenced by The Velvet Underground and The Ramones definitely were into The Stooges and the MC5.
@@SkyNetGeneral- One final analysis: I will give Ray a lot of credit for the outstanding production work he did on the first four X albums. My particular favorite is Under The Big Black Sun but they are all great.
@@SkyNetGeneral- I'm into Pink Floyd, but I love the pre Dark Side albums (and DSOTM). After that their music bores me to tears. And Iggy is a survivor. Still going.

Venyl and a needle are said to be better quality than mp3.
@@Wuei108 You need a very good set up for vinyls with a diamond stylus. The amazing...Technics SL -1210 Direct Drive.....players are just perfect and like I said you will need a good set up( cables, amplifier etc..) but they the original and best.✌️🙌

Funny thing. The original U.S. 7" 45 rpm single version of "Hello I Love You" was STEREO. The only original U.S. MONO 7" 45 rpm single version was a special radio station promo. Many of the MONO radio stations actually received and played the STEREO version, as it was compatible. There is also a rare MONO LP version of the album this single was taken from, "Waiting For The Sun". The MONO LP was a poor seller in the U.S. with most copies sent back to the record distributors and destroyed. Some went out as cut-outs, but those didn't sell very well either. Nobody wanted MONO anymore and it was very unusual for a record company to release a MONO LP in 1968. That was the whole point in introducing the STEREO-MONO Compatible format, of which Elektra Records was a pioneer.

Crosley is a company that sells mutiple record players. So i do not expect that a replacement needle will be a problem.
@@Wuei108 since when would you not need to replace the needle? Although this is a gimmick so it’s not meant to be used. Just purchased and placed in your closet
It will sound awful because the groove on record will be extremely close together, there it will no depth whatsoever, be tinny as hell.

I grew up listening to them before nirvana and oasis.12 i was .You couldnt beet the authenticity of them early videos like dance on fire live at the bowl ect.Because unfortunately i got into em from the film but i remember my dad saying he had the lps as a older teen and the real jim was much better looking then val kilmer .

This is just my opinion, but this represents everything wrong with record store day.
The Doors are legends, but this player is crap! Don´t waste your money. Tipp: Do you like The Doors? Then have your favorite The Doors-cover printed on foil (note the dimensions), plotted and apply the foil to your record player. Now you have your own unique player.....
