The Doors channel is the official UA-cam home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.
“Whoever controls the media, controls the mind”
― Jim Morrison
Absolutely gorgeous! I love the tactile sensation of books made with such care as this... let alone the ideas contained within. Digital reading can't beat that, ever!
Wow so very cool.... Really wish I could afford it. This Saturday I'm going to see Robby perform!
“It may have been in pieces, but I gave you the best of me.” - Jim
I think Jim would be blown away by his reappraisal as a poet and a singer. He was a unique individual who had the gift of words with which to express his heart and soul. Gone too soon but never forgotten. R.I.P JDM.🙏❤️.x
Rest in Paradise Jim and Ray ❤️ i fucken love The Doors 🖤
And me
Golly, this looks gorgeous. When I was younger, listening to The Doors was one of the only escapes I could retreat into when things in my personal life got extremely bad. I owe them a debt of gratitude. This book looks like its something special. I'll never be able to afford it but I'm grateful for the opportunity to get a glimpse of it in this video here. Cheers friends.
when I still wrote poetry in high school and almost was published 6 times I really only had 3 poets for inspiration Jim Morrison is top of the list followed by Edgar Allen Poe and Jack Kerouac
Same. Except I would move Kerouac to 2nd place. All three completely changed my perspective on not only literature and art, but life itself.
@@sea_ohm11 still have changed our lives for the similar ideas of life and music

Es Enorme Jim Morrison
Excelent !!!! Graphics arts job.Saludos desde URUGUAY.
Considering the enormous success of fusing Morrison's poetry and Leonard Cohen's poetry into amazingly crafted songs, where are all of today's poets? ?
Theres an album like "An American Prayer" for Leonard Cohen?
Take up the prowling of bookstores, new and especially used, as a pleasant weekend hobby.
We’re too depressed to move
We're out here. I make some things, just sketch pad, not the highest production value, but just to get the ideas down- words & music. I don't have time to work things up to make it more packaged at the moment, so consider it lo-fi. It's often Gen X imagery, Americana & cultural touchstones highlighted by constant absurdities, violence & contrasts. soundcloud.com/voyager/bodies-in-barrels

Nanana de locos
Nice, but I can't get it. It's way too much.
Don't worry about it. You're not missing anything. This is in its entirety a way to milk the effects of the Morrison mythos, which are not real. The "larger than life" imagery exist in your psyche and only there. Now, I don't know what brought you here, but I've held The Doors in the highest regard possible throughout my very music interested life. Morrison was, for all his qualities, "just" a part of it and human. All too human.
@@QualeQualeson I don't know. At least I'd like to have the regular version. But, even that would cost a lot to transport it or pay import taxes to my country. I am aware of the mythos, but I like his artistic style and he was weird/strange, and that people see as either/or, but I find him relatable. Far from in his entirety, but his interests, philosophy, expressiveness, etc, I share it as well. I like Morrison on his own *and* The Doors as well, as something on its own league in music, it's more than that to me, feel it on a spiritual level.
@@ninaj6051 I know, I feel it too. But in my humble opinion, its not really about Morrison, but rather what he became a vessel for. He had certain traits, some relevant, some not. But I'm pretty sure none of it really came from him per se, as in it's all circumstance.
The point I'm trying to make is that there's a massive personality cult type industry going on, and I don't think it's the right thing to focus on. As such, you could spend your money wiser and still pursue the vital parts, whatever they may be.
A lot of people found him incredibly sexy though, so that's something I can get with. It's superficial, but also natural. I could see myself buy a handcrafted book visually celebrating a favourite female beauty. That I will admit.
@@QualeQualeson I don't find it that bad, as it makes him exist in public consciousness and culture still, and some people by chance or intuition or whatever make an effort to get to know him and discover different things that are obscure and not that "sexy" in a superficial sense, but still there's a value beyond it. I don't know how to explain it better. I think the situation is better nowadays, as there is less about perpetuating the mythos, but about getting to know more of a "real Jim", or I just don't care about the other. And I am aware most of the people who like "bad boy Jimbo" would hate it, and I had proof of it when I talked to some young women who didn't believe anything I said about how I see him, as for them that popular movie and his appearance are enough. I am just one of those people who tend to go deep on everything (many times too much), and I think real Jim was way better than the myth about him. And his sexiness isn't a thing on its own, it had many causes that made him so attractive. I know I may be a little biased since I do find his sexual energy magnetic as well, but I know it also wasn't about "noble" or socially acceptable and right for him or people around him in some parts. Maybe it's because he died so young. Actually, it is, I think. He still had yet to live things out (truly do it, not just continue on the shenanigans) and mature as well. He was in many ways still a silly child, though he tried to overcome his "demons" and mature just before he passed away.
@@ninaj6051 Agreed. Well said.
Soooooo why did you not use a Doors song for this video?
So who's getting all the money?
😢
Lol
why the outrageous price?Jesus Christ man!
