I honestly don't think that it was the he got over her, but circumstantially, he was screwed. To them, family comes above everything else, so it really does fit with the character.

Well to be fair, the Michealson's did tell him that he was one of them. Klaus was basically his mentor and his father. At the end of the day, Marcel was second class. olts yo yeah that's what I'm afraid of, this season only has 13 episodes. so the story line goes much faster, and there are too many interesting characters to fill one episode. Elijah, Klaus, Hayley, Freya, Marcel, Vincent and Hope are the main characters so the focus is more based on them. Such a shame because Kol never really had a regular role as original vampire. People in USA need to watch the show, otherwise there is no season five.

camille Lloyd it wasn't peaceful before the mikaelsons showed up. Marcel had it peaceful for his followers and the witches and wolves lived in fear. Marcel is no different than klaus. Had marcel lived for a thousand years he probably wouldn't have hurt as many ppl as klaus but he sure would've hurt a huge amount of ppl. The only difference is they'd all probably be witches and wolves and not immortal ppl who can hold a grudge. This season they seem to have somewhat more of peace between them but if it wasn't for the mikaelsons showing up marcel was as much a tyrant as the mikaelsons. Not to mention marcel being merciful is no different from how merciful klaus has been to marcel. He could've killed marcel anytime he betrayed him but didn't. Because klaus did think of marcel as a son. The mikaelsons are bad don't get me wrong but marcel isn't much different with how he was. This season he may be doing things more peaceful but so is klaus so he's not much any different from him whether he thinks it or not.

The only thing I like about Marcel is that he won't kill children. He will not kill a child for the mistakes of the parents. I also like the fact that even after having all the Michelsons gone and knowing Hayley is trying to wake them up he doesn't go after her or her kid knowing they might be a danger.

The mere fact that Marcel saved his niece from death as a baby when his niece was literally a hair line a way from being sacrifice and still technically saved her and her mother especially her mother when she was a baby deserves the Medal of Honor for his bravery. Marcellus character development had been outstanding throughout the series. I remember when Camille looked at him puzzled when he offered that Indian female vampire woman blood and he didn't take it for himself and be selfish.

He needed like 2 thousands of years to finally get his wolf back and after all these years he finally killed his father. And when Marcel got his powers, he almost blindly wanted to kill every vampire there is except Klaus vampires just to get his little revenge. This scene was breathtaking; Klaus and Marcel's peace negotiation was perfectly acted by both Joseph and Charles, but is it just me who wonders every time when Marcel talks in that moment that the little boy he used to be more than a hundred years ago is still in there saying the same thing and feeling the same emotions as he is now.
Tbh Marcel has a point when he says "I managed to beat you without turning into you", he doesn't do a Klaus and just kill anyone he happens to disagree with or feels threatened by, he's willing to listen and come to a compromise which took Klaus years to learn that that's actually a good way of doing things, not everything has the solution of "just kill them"

Marcel has the first kill on this entire series when he executed Jane anne Deveraux for practicing magic , cursing an entire pack of wolves bc he was annoyed with them also banning them in the quarter, these things that he did is what makes him a hyporcrite and self righteous for saying he beat them w/out turning into them🤷🏽♀️ he done things the way Mikaelsons would do all through out the earlier seasons. I'm just going to go ahead and say it. The originals are cruel, manipulative, bloodthirsty, and have no regard for the life of anyone that isn't a Mikaelson, a lover/friend, or anyone essential to one of their plans, and a lot of the time, the problems they encounter are of their own making or are the result of what essentially boils down to family drama. In short, its generally agreed that they are horrible people, but I love how they always choose to stick together in the end. Even after over a 1000 years. Most people would have probably went their separate ways after so long and after everything they put each other through (especially Klaus' treatment of his siblings), but they stick together anyways. Always and Forever. And if there is one thing I can respect them for, its their dedication to family, and their willingness to do anything, commit any atrocity, for each other.
I don’t agree completely, I think anyone who would choose a random stranger over your family is a bad person. If someone I don’t know kills me for someone he loved I would have more respect for him than when he chooses me over his family. You know why? Because it proves your humanity. The originals aren’t ment to be the best or pure characters. They are the most real and the most human. They embody experience and built up mental traumas. Suffering of life and life itself. If you choose objectively in a personal choice, that’s not “good”. And for many of us they are relatable, I lived a very extreme world with extreme people around me and a lot of ultimatums. See what that does to a person. I lost a lot of people in my life and if I would have cared for every last one of them I would be dead right now. If they did the same for a thousand years they would be far far far more broken then you see them now. And if you have gone through hell, it starts to become hard to feel empathy sometimes. After I lost my mother, do you think I still felt bad for people who lost their pet? I wish I could but I just didn’t. It felt like such a minor thing now.

Vampires killing, robbing, stealing, torturing there was no end to their destruction. They did these things for fun, food, shelter. For them feeling compassion, remorse, or empathy was foreign. I like Klaus's explanation to their "over hyped senses" was because of their long lives. They forget how to feel, so in order for that not to happen vampires feel more deeply than humans. Chaoticblaze27 Davina Broke the sire line which nearly killed the entire Mikaelson family. Plus the witches made Kol kill Davina and it was also the Mikaelsons (Freya ) and Vincent that brought Davina back from the dead. Davina put the entire family at extreme danger after she broke the sire line and Lucien came to kill them off. So yea it's all pretty much Davina's fault. And let's no forgot that Marcel released Michael years ago to kill Klaus and so did Davina....

yes it is the spin off. Their story starts in Season 4 ep 18 of the vampire diaries where Katherine sends them off to New Orleans. Stefan, Tyler, Caroline and even Elena's doppelgänger Tatia makes an appearance in the Originals.
He reminds me somewhat of the Red Hood aka Jason Todd from DC comics which is part of the reason I like him so much. They are both bad*sses, both have a love/hate relationship with their respective adoptive fathers, ultimately had their lives ruined by said adoptive fathers, both had their butts whooped by their fathers, and devoted a lot of time to getting revenge on their fathers. All of this coulda been avoided, keep in mind. Marcel has every right to be the way he was at the time. Guy lost his daughter-figure, and was killed when attempting to offer peace by the only people he considered his family. I love the Mikaelsons, but I'm also with Marcel in all of this. However, here's an argument. Marcel did betray them first, when he brought Mikael to town.(though it was Rebekah's idea). He did send his first army of vampires after Klaus before pledging allegiance(1x8). Though Marcel has justifiable actions rn, he is not innocent. I'm aware of that. But neither are the Mikaelsons.
I understand why Marcel.is angry, Davina was like a daughter to him. But considering everything he didn't had to do this. Considering everything that happened they didn't have much chance, besides if Lucien did not die, everyone would. And the witches they would have also prevented them from raising Davina back. I can say much about this because it was a hard decision. I don't think they feel good about it either. But from day one Marcel treated them as his enemy. He said he didn't want originals in town and two originals were too much. Then kept Elijah in a box. He said that they didn't treat him as family. I think from the moment they left when Micheal came, Marcel was probably happy. He ran the town as his. He made their house his own. Then treated them as invader. Marcel may have been born in new Orleans but I think he forgot that he was a bastard child that his father abused and didn't give a name. He forgot that the place he call home, was made a home by Klaus. Marcel not only betrayed them but he wanted to kill them. He actually had Davina studying on how to kill an original. Sorry to say, but I think the grief that he feels for Davina death was just a means of getting rid of the Michaelson. And he got the serum to do it. From the moment that he took the serum which he didn't even hesitate was the final confirmation that he was going to make them his enemy, because he knew then that he could kill them. So all this talk about family his spilling right now was just to justify his decision. Marcel taunted them on the bridge and had the heart to.say that they made his decision when they killed him. He literally told them that he was going to kill them.all.and as long as he was alive their family would not be safe. He wanted probably Klaus to kill him himself. If he wanted to test them, he wouldn't have vowed to be their enemy, while he was holding the one thing that could kill their entire family. He wanted them to kill him, so he could say that they're not his family.
Well when he called mikael he was trying to free himself and rebekah from klaus When sending his vampires to fight klaus he was trying to defend the city he had built Marcel was minding his business before the originals came and demanded what he had built, he was mostly reacting to them

olts yo yeah that's what I'm afraid of, this season only has 13 episodes. so the story line goes much faster, and there are too many interesting characters to fill one episode. Elijah, Klaus, Hayley, Freya, Marcel, Vincent and Hope are the main characters so the focus is more based on them. Such a shame because Kol never really had a regular role as original vampire. People in USA need to watch the show, otherwise there is no season five.

camille Lloyd it wasn't peaceful before the mikaelsons showed up. Marcel had it peaceful for his followers and the witches and wolves lived in fear. Marcel is no different than klaus. Had marcel lived for a thousand years he probably wouldn't have hurt as many ppl as klaus but he sure would've hurt a huge amount of ppl. The only difference is they'd all probably be witches and wolves and not immortal ppl who can hold a grudge. This season they seem to have somewhat more of peace between them but if it wasn't for the mikaelsons showing up marcel was as much a tyrant as the mikaelsons. Not to mention marcel being merciful is no different from how merciful klaus has been to marcel. He could've killed marcel anytime he betrayed him but didn't. Because klaus did think of marcel as a son. The mikaelsons are bad don't get me wrong but marcel isn't much different with how he was. This season he may be doing things more peaceful but so is klaus so he's not much any different from him whether he thinks it or not.

This scene was breathtaking; Klaus and Marcel's peace negotiation was perfectly acted by both Joseph and Charles, but is it just me who wonders every time when Marcel talks in that moment that the little boy he used to be more than a hundred years ago is still in there saying the same thing and feeling the same emotions as he is now.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it. The originals are cruel, manipulative, bloodthirsty, and have no regard for the life of anyone that isn't a Mikaelson, a lover/friend, or anyone essential to one of their plans, and a lot of the time, the problems they encounter are of their own making or are the result of what essentially boils down to family drama. In short, its generally agreed that they are horrible people, but I love how they always choose to stick together in the end. Even after over a 1000 years. Most people would have probably went their separate ways after so long and after everything they put each other through (especially Klaus' treatment of his siblings), but they stick together anyways. Always and Forever. And if there is one thing I can respect them for, its their dedication to family, and their willingness to do anything, commit any atrocity, for each other.
I don’t agree completely, I think anyone who would choose a random stranger over your family is a bad person. If someone I don’t know kills me for someone he loved I would have more respect for him than when he chooses me over his family.
You know why? Because it proves your humanity. The originals aren’t ment to be the best or pure characters. They are the most real and the most human. They embody experience and built up mental traumas. Suffering of life and life itself. If you choose objectively in a personal choice, that’s not “good”.
And for many of us they are relatable, I lived a very extreme world with extreme people around me and a lot of ultimatums. See what that does to a person.
I lost a lot of people in my life and if I would have cared for every last one of them I would be dead right now. If they did the same for a thousand years they would be far far far more broken then you see them now.
And if you have gone through hell, it starts to become hard to feel empathy sometimes. After I lost my mother, do you think I still felt bad for people who lost their pet? I wish I could but I just didn’t. It felt like such a minor thing now.

All of this coulda been avoided, keep in mind. Marcel has every right to be the way he was at the time. Guy lost his daughter-figure, and was killed when attempting to offer peace by the only people he considered his family. I love the Mikaelsons, but I'm also with Marcel in all of this.
However, here's an argument. Marcel did betray them first, when he brought Mikael to town.(though it was Rebekah's idea). He did send his first army of vampires after Klaus before pledging allegiance(1x8). Though Marcel has justifiable actions rn, he is not innocent. I'm aware of that. But neither are the Mikaelsons.
I understand why Marcel.is angry, Davina was like a daughter to him. But considering everything he didn't had to do this. Considering everything that happened they didn't have much chance, besides if Lucien did not die, everyone would. And the witches they would have also prevented them from raising Davina back. I can say much about this because it was a hard decision. I don't think they feel good about it either.
But from day one Marcel treated them as his enemy. He said he didn't want originals in town and two originals were too much. Then kept Elijah in a box. He said that they didn't treat him as family. I think from the moment they left when Micheal came, Marcel was probably happy. He ran the town as his. He made their house his own. Then treated them as invader. Marcel may have been born in new Orleans but I think he forgot that he was a bastard child that his father abused and didn't give a name. He forgot that the place he call home, was made a home by Klaus. Marcel not only betrayed them but he wanted to kill them. He actually had Davina studying on how to kill an original. Sorry to say, but I think the grief that he feels for Davina death was just a means of getting rid of the Michaelson. And he got the serum to do it.
From the moment that he took the serum which he didn't even hesitate was the final confirmation that he was going to make them his enemy, because he knew then that he could kill them. So all this talk about family his spilling right now was just to justify his decision. Marcel taunted them on the bridge and had the heart to.say that they made his decision when they killed him. He literally told them that he was going to kill them.all.and as long as he was alive their family would not be safe. He wanted probably Klaus to kill him himself. If he wanted to test them, he wouldn't have vowed to be their enemy, while he was holding the one thing that could kill their entire family. He wanted them to kill him, so he could say that they're not his family.

Marcel ruin Davina and that's the truth. He was the one who put her in the cross fire with Klaus. If Marcel didn't take Elijah as some twisted way of keeping the originals in place, non one would know about her. He used her as a tool to stabilize his power. Marcel was not good, he said he loved Davina but he still manipulated her. He poisoned her mind against Klaus. And Davina caused her own death, she was hell bent on fighting a war that wasn't hers. She went against Klaus for what? She thought she could beat Klaus, and her ego was as high as Marcel. She caused the witches to hate her. And she was always dead, they just lost the chance to bring her back. I was sad about Davina death mainly because of her and Kol. But Davina and Marcel annoyed me alot.

Davina thinks the worst of Klaus and wouldn't blink if he was dead. She won't mind killing him herself, along with all the Michaelson. Joker Snipez he isn’t better them in the slightest he is exactly like them except he deludes himself into thinking otherwise. You make it sound like Marcel valiantly fought off Mikael after the rest of them ran which isn’t true (I’m not saying that’s what your trying to say but it comes off like that). While the Mikaelson’s were in New Orleans they were able to unite all of the factions in peace while Marcel cursed the crescent pack and held the witches in subjugation and used a glorified magic detector to keep them in check. All of the Mikaelson’s were utterly horrified of Mikael not only was he stronger them all of them (Minus Klaus when he uses his hybrid nature which he didn’t have access to at the time) he also had the only weapon capable of killing them.
I love Marcel in this season everything he said was on point. I hope this will finally teach the Mikaelsons some humility.
I love Marcel no one realizes how much of a sad story he had.Marcel was tortured and beat and forced to work all because of the color of his skin until Klaus saved him.
And klaus didn't save him they saved each other he found his family klaus fell in love with marcel the moment he saw him and that's where klaus redemption arc started in TO father and son bonded through the hate they had for their fathers
