Thank you very much. Good demonstration. I want to use muscle wire for my robot projects because servos are way too loud, and become annoying very quickly. Thanks.

Those flexinol wires are very strong they are better than brushless servos and with no sound but can't spin an axis 360°C they work just like the human muscles.

how do they work? human muscles use sliding of actin fibers over myosin and that consumes ATP, how do these fibers contract? what is their mechanism?

    Very biological motion, great work!

すごい although... i would like to see a demonstration of how strong these wires are, compared to how much electricity is used.

The back and forth, it that be reverse on one wire or using two wire pull and pull?

about how much current are you using in the wire and what size wire?

Bought 3 of these TOKI servos around 2007, they are a bit pricey but works well compared to magnetic actuators (more torque & holding power, no magnetic interference when using near another Toki). They tend to slow down in higher temperature which matter less in indoor R/C!

compared to motor servo, this is perfectly silent?

Where do you get those "muscle wires"..?

    Great work and great idea.
But you shouldn't be showing this on UA-cam if you haven't applied for patent. You will loose a serious amounts of money in royalties.
    Good luck.

Yeah. And you can even have fun driving to the store.
It is way more fun to buy things that to use your brain, apply your skills and imagination to create something... right?

this is not using a standard servo found in RC cars, this is using muscle wire

thats crap. better just buy a futaba S9650, and a receiver and Tx, and you get 3 kilograms of torque, and an impressive speed!

it's showing muscle wire doing the job instead of a servo, it's not pointless
