they have the fuel turned down. that's why it's lagging, the old d6 we have done that a mechanic friend turned it up now it will out push anything we have
Busque hacen cinco años atrás uno para reparar ya que Hera el D6 en el que trabajaba mi papá de l siempre quiso tener uno propio. No podía , ,6 hijos no alcanzaba el dinero.
Man , there's nothing wrong with this ol' girl. ( most 'Cat's' are called 'she' aren't they ?) What a great find this is,....and the land to use it on too ! No smoke, no apparent clutch slippage,...this one's ready to go to work.
I want one! The tracks looks like replacements, not origional?, not forget fuel , hydro and oil filters change. Period of time they will breakdown and one will have a disaster to fix
That may be true. My 1950 D4 has a electric start, used to start the pony motor (gas), which is then used to start the diesel main motor. There is also a flywheel that a rope can be wrapped around to manually pull and start the pony motor, which then, again, is used to start the main diesel engine.
@@tylerjackson4168 Third gear forward on the right terrain is ok. Reverse 3rd even forward for that matter with cause chains to stretch and become out of adjustment. Can raise he'll on other components as well.
Needs to up the fuel pressure. To smooth out engine rpms. Sort of like surging of a gas engine. With its age it's mechanical adjustment (wrench it) new stuff it would be computer diagnosis to locate electronic failure.
I dig it. No battery box covers and a spare battery or two riding on the operator's platform. Seems familiar. ua-cam.com/video/HLdHpOdpXVg/v-deo.html The old straight stick 6s are slow, but easy to start when the batteries are dead. Have had my D6B wide gauge for over 20 years.

After watching a number of these video's I've come to the conclusion , that you'll don't OWN any of this equipment ! Nor do you own the ranch where the equipment is parked . So , it seems you'll just operate the equipment that the old rancher decides to buy . After all it looks like the only work you do is on the old man's ranch , or some other ranch who needs a tank cleaned , a road built , or brush pushed . I wish you would clarify this situation so those of us who enjoy watching these vids can understand the context of your working relationship . Thanks !
That's a fine dozer. Good tight undercarriage and blade. No blue smoke either from the cat engine. A great purchase all round. Enjoy.
I have a identical model D 6 sat for ten years and it started with little work amazing machines
good strong ole 6 and an operator who's not afraid to drive a machine that's got that many levers
That is the kind of toy I want for Christmas!!
A new paint job it will like new ,got to love old iron. Good find!

Nice score! Those tracks look good and sharp; runs good too.
congrats guy, that's a nice little dozer, enjoy !!!!!
Love the videos! I prefer watching cool unrestored equipment. It has character.
I had one of these for 10 years good old machine. then found a 6 b they were both good machines...............
oh I see the pup motor on the back crossways the 9u we had only had pup motor start good machine
they have the fuel turned down. that's why it's lagging, the old d6 we have done that a mechanic friend turned it up now it will out push anything we have
I don't know if you will see this, but the levers on the right. One raises/lowers the blade, one is forward/reverse, whats the other for? A hi/lo?
One lever is blade control, then the transmission has 2 levers. 1 lever does forward neutral reverse and 2nd lever is 1-5 speed.
I started out on a 9u D6 series. it was a rope start pony engine, You stood on the tracks to pull the rope
Looks like a nice Ride!! Got some time on it though however looks like it's working pretty Goood Still huh?? Good luck and have a nice Day!!
Grousers look great for a Cat this age. And, what would this world do, without the ol' standby, "Marvel Mystery Oil"...!☺
Sehr schönes Video, sehr schöne Maschinengeräusche, danke, weiter so!

I suppose if I had a new to me D6 I would push over some trees too!
Boy, that`s a sweet l`il doggy.
that's a nice cat there like the duel start option. electric or pony motor.
run that by me again!
Lee Watkins some of the cat's you could use the pony motor for cold starts but you could also have a electric starter motor for quick start up's

yes you can have electric start on your pony but i was meaning for the diesel engine

why the jug of Marvel Oil? is Marvel Oil just transmission fluid?
It's not ATF or it would foul spark plugs in gas engines.
Are ya located in Texas cause that looks like Texas brush what I'm watching👍
How To Work With Texas maybe near Jack County. The emblem said Jack County Precinct 3.

chevydiesel350015 damn right
How bout a little throttle
yea..seems VERY weak
Why waste fuel using full throttle when you can get the job done with half?
There made to run at full throttle best results.
