Don't worry, Jared. The only thing that changes if you actually reduce the final boss' health entirely to 0 is just a bigger number of years he stays banished for in the ending screen. Slightly disappointing, I know.
MotorRoach Also, considering that official MtG is played with 20 life by default, Jared taking out 88 life from the best cards in the game while he started at 27 is pretty fucking amazing.

Richard Garfields new card game KeyForge is amazing for people who like the idea of TCGs but not the deck construction and card chasing aspects those games have, by the way. It's also unique in that it isn't fundamentally about combat, but rather a resource race. It's also cheap!
1:58 Dude, you think that's pathetic and sad? I was a huge fan of the Pokemon TCG, except I had no one to play with. So not content to simply play against myself I made a "one player adventure game" where in a deck could do a sought of endurance run against "stages" based of locations from the show and games like Viridian Forest with randomly drawn "wild Pokemon" based on what you would might find in those areas. And ended in cities with a boss based one of the Gym Leaders and occasionally Team Rocket. Between Stages, when you got to a city, you could choose whether or not to go to a "Pokemon Center" which would reshuffle your deck, to get back trainer cards and KO'd Pokemon along with lost energy. The down side being your in play area was also reset so you lost all of your developed and powered up Pokemon. Which was a huge disadvantage for the upcoming Boss fight, because all of their Pokemon were fully evolved and full powered, with a preset arsenal of Trainer cards. I even went to so far as to make it feel less like I was fighting myself by actually coming up with how each opponent would behave under what circumstance, actually it was a lot like the Gambits from Final Fantasy XII looking back. That way I wasn't making any of my opponents decisions while doing battle against them. So yeah... compared to me, you're behavior was down right well adjusted and admirable. XD
***** I just have this idea to turn the magic card game into a table top RPG, and you gain experience through card battles but are restricted to use the weakest cards starting out and you start with one color, basically like this RPG styled magic game
This card game looks very interesting. But the whole "having to draw a specific mana card to even play any cards at all" thing kinda turns me off. I'll stick with Yu-Gi-Oh!. EDIT: Fuck YGO. MTG FTW. So glad I eventually switched.
It's not hard to draw mana. If you're not drawing enough mana per game, you didn't put enough in. If you have more than one color, there's multiple (and dirt cheap) ways of getting around that anyways. Besides, I like that way over summoning the most powerful card you can imagine turn one as you can in Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is quite easy to do.
Brandon Lyman 1. No matter what, no matter how balanced your deck is, even with mulligans, there will come many times when you get a shit hand and will be unable to use any mana. 2. If you're summoning all of your powerful monsters as fast as you can, you're not playing Yu-Gi-Oh! right.
I love how in this video and in the let’s play the footage is from he dogs on banding but in the let’s play it literally turned a loosing battle to an overwhelming victory multiple times, not to mention he didn’t actually use prodigal sorcerer all that much.
The best card game thing I've ever seen was when someone was selling a Playstation 4 on eBay. The buyer received 2 Playstation 2's and a Yu-Gi-Oh "Fusion" card. 😆

Ah my friends and I always play this at anytime we can at school. It's kind of like a symbol of skill and honor when you build the greatest deck in the school.
It sucks I have social anxiety. There are at least three places in my town that have weekly get togethers to play MTG. I don't really want to start buying the cards since I have no one to play with though. Guess I'll just keep collecting YuGiOh! cards until then. Mostly because they look awesome.
Sarru But YuGiOh isnt a card game anymore its just something like "If your enemy attacks your monster in def mode that is a magic pixie and has over 300 atk then you can activate a trap card and summon a monster/elflady card but if that card has over 1200 atk and has an effect you lose 2000 heatlth points need to drop all your cards and also do nothing until he killed every of your monsters on the field"
likeajon To be fair the effects aren't as backwards as you make them out to be. But they can be lengthy, though pretty much only for cards which are rather hard to play with some long combos you have to pull off. (I'm looking at you Ultimate Axon Kicker and The Creator God of Light, Horakhty)
You know, this video actually got me into playing Magic: the Gathering and now, every single time I watch this video, it makes me just want to run to a store, buy a load of Magic: the Gathering booster packs, and see the “lucky random cards” I got. How strange to think I used to hate Magic: the Gathering when I was younger, and now I’m hooked on it! Thanks, Jared!
Magic's super fun to play against yourself, but you quickly learn that you're the most predictable opponent you could possibly fight. So I often pretended to be totally different people with totally independent playstyles. I have too much time.
I could never get into Magic: The Gathering for the simple fact that I could never make or play a deck that could win, nor could I get anyone to help me enough to help me make or play a deck competently.
***** Then everyone that I have ever played has been a dick, because I have never won a game of Magic. And I've tried several times over the years. I've tried to get back into it about 3 or 4 times since elementary school, which was about 8-9 years ago, but I could never actually win against anyone.
***** But that's the thing, as it often is with this sort of thing and me: I never know what I am doing wrong, as I have no context. As far as I can tell, they just keep pulling lucky cards and beating me. That's obviously not the case, but unfortunately, that's how it seems.
I specialized in not winning. Instead I'd make the game hilarious. One of my decks made everyone else draw about 15 cards then get everything they drew for free. I called it "And watch the fireworks." Best played in 3-6 person games.
Okay, I have rewatched this video multiple times over the years. How is today the first time I noticed that ProJared had a cat appear in the corner of the video when he was showing off his cards?
Games like Hearthstone and Deck Heroes need to sell packs of physical cards. Each card could have a special code you could type in to get the card in-game. Opening virtual packs just isn't the same. Swiping through a list isn't as satisfying as sorting through a pile. AND THE SMELL.
Have you ever heard of the game Chaotic? It was just like that, had a tv show and everything, I used to love buying the cards since they all had codes to play online xD
Since posting this comment, I found out that the Pokemon TCG does exactly this with its packs/decks. Not sure how I feel about getting in to pokemon cards at age 23 though...
I have a MTG deck myself, but I've never had a chance to use it. There aren't many places in my neighborhood to play it so, y'know. That and I don't know anyone else who plays.
Jeremy Garner I have almost the exact same problem. The only people I play with are my brother and cousin, and the only local card store is very obscure; meaning few people know it even exists.
I did play a little bit of Magic, so I wasn't completely confused, but all the Magic jokes were lost for me (Except maybe the Leviathan, because, if I remember correctly, I think his ablility was that he couldn't do anything without discarding two mana, wich I remember being super inconvenient) But I agree with the fact that Yu-gi-oh master race! I mean come on! We have the Chouxvalier! img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131012171826/yugioh/images/9/95/MadolcheChouxvalier-REDU-EN-R-1E.png It's a knight... who's also a Choux à la creme. It bloody wins!
We need something like YGOPro but MTG instead with ALL CARDS ever made, Yeah in YGOPro you can use ANYCARD even Japan only ones, anime, Manga, ETC. Its so awesome.
TheLastRaven6 What he didn't mention in the video was that the old MTG computer game has a mode where you can construct a deck using ANY cards released up until that time. We need a newer version like this, where you can play against your friends!
I got into the game a few years back at a summer class. Played it a good bit there. When I got back I had nobody to play it with so I mostly forgot how to play. Now I find that one of my friend is a huge fan of it so... Time to relearn by watching ProJared.
I'm a Yu-Gi_oh! pleyr myself (even though I do admit Magic is superior, but it doesn't strike my nostalgia nerves), and all the old (official) YGO games are RPGs too, and I fucking love it Though the only actual good multiplayer game is unofficial
I could sit and watch those actors all day long...

It is.
Wait, really? I mean, considering the fact that the final boss will have the best cards of THIS age of MTG, it should at least be pretty hard

XD
Wow, I actually wish I could download that game right now and play it! Too bad it's probably in your head or written on a piece of paper.
That sounds quite amazing btw
***** I just have this idea to turn the magic card game into a table top RPG, and you gain experience through card battles but are restricted to use the weakest cards starting out and you start with one color, basically like this RPG styled magic game
IT'S TIME TO DUEL
+Adam Wolf (Pizza King) Close enough
We playin Solitaire.
+John Tiseo Oh my god. Your profile pic makes that comment so much funnier!
it's time to d-d-d-d-d-duel!
You played three monster cards in one turn!... Thats against the rules!...
Revisiting this video Makes me wonder if you play the commander format at all
Commander is fucking garbage

want a hit is right... MTG was why I could not afford to do drugs in university

Yeah, prooooooooobably just pay the gold.
2:07 Your cat looked so confused
Man, I remember playing some MTG back in high school.
It was awesome. Except when you draw nine fucking mana in a row...
Or if you get no mana for nine card draws in a row.
I usually either get every single mana for the entire game, or get 3 10/10s, 1 8/8, and 525425245245 5/5s, and never get mana.
There is no worse feeling than having seven mana in your starting hand.
Thatguy4077 Or no mana in your hand, and a 10/10 in your hand. That means you have to shuffle your hand into your deck. It really sucks. :C
I know right? I just use a lot of cards which let you shuffle your deck
This card game looks very interesting.
But the whole "having to draw a specific mana card to even play any cards at all" thing kinda turns me off.
I'll stick with Yu-Gi-Oh!.
EDIT: Fuck YGO. MTG FTW. So glad I eventually switched.
Or.... I could just go to my local card shop. It's even in walking distance.
But to have it delivered from where you live to me would take a while.
Also, I'm pretty sure you're trying to scam me right now.
2. If you're summoning all of your powerful monsters as fast as you can, you're not playing Yu-Gi-Oh! right.
My dad sold all his Magic The Gathering cards, and when he came back home he said "You know how I got all this money?"
*"MAGIC"*
I love how in this video and in the let’s play the footage is from he dogs on banding but in the let’s play it literally turned a loosing battle to an overwhelming victory multiple times, not to mention he didn’t actually use prodigal sorcerer all that much.
I want a big ol' buff tortle.....
Just go to a pond with some meat, a net, and anabolic steroids. :)
Just get the Giant Turtle card and the Giant Growth card, and BOOM, you get a big ol' buff turtle.

Iffy User Me too!! It was an awesome little Easter egg. :P
I had to stop and check the comments to see if anyone else recognized that 😅
"BAGOOM!! You're dead!"
I am SO gonna say that, sometimes, when I swing for lethal. xD
The best card game thing I've ever seen was when someone was selling a Playstation 4 on eBay. The buyer received 2 Playstation 2's and a Yu-Gi-Oh "Fusion" card. 😆
ProJared gives this game a Tim outta Ten.
6:45 That music sounds familiar........ Its the Extra History opening theme !!!!

+KaiserAfini It's the town theme from the SNES game ActRaiser.
Look it up, the game actually has a really good soundtrack

Why are you all going to where I can't follow?
Black INK.I.M They're ancient heroes, stranger.
They know many ways, ways that we do not currently know. Therefore, we cannot follow, until we've learned the same secrets...
If you so desire the knowledge, you may start the chant, for Hermaeous Mora... However, this can not be done, if thy know not of thee Dremora Lords... And the Dangers of asking those in Oblivion...
ProJared: “want a hit?”
Me instantly with no hesitation: “yes please.”
😂😂
Make more of these videos!! Also cute cat.
Ah my friends and I always play this at anytime we can at school. It's kind of like a symbol of skill and honor when you build the greatest deck in the school.
projared has like a 1.000.000 new magic boosters pack just for "that new card smell".
TheFailOrNot They were as backwards when you were a kid
likeajon Well, can't argue with that :D
+Sarru I gotta say, your profile pic is perfect.
Watching this video made me really want to play YuGiOh again.
I wish I had a PS4 so I could play the YuGiOh game on that.
ChazzzyF The best game of yugi made so far
ChazzzyF The old Yu-gi-oh from 2002-2006 was the best years. Wanna hear a joke? Equips. HA
Junkproductions Noble Knights.
New Card Smell is the BEST
I know that feel
I wanna hit....no homo
Wait....you play MTG, Ben?
Magic's super fun to play against yourself, but you quickly learn that you're the most predictable opponent you could possibly fight.
So I often pretended to be totally different people with totally independent playstyles.
I have too much time.
You should do a Let's Play of this game.
Aries watching his human playing a card game against himself: "My human is pathetic and sad."
The only winning move in MTG is not to play.
I specialized in not winning. Instead I'd make the game hilarious. One of my decks made everyone else draw about 15 cards then get everything they drew for free. I called it "And watch the fireworks." Best played in 3-6 person games.
magicbaron333...
It's so beautiful...
And all I thought was playable was,
"Land Go?"
I own like 8 (or more) decks, and have no one to play against. *sighs*
I have 7 decks
Céline .S. Sauvé I have at least 14, it's been at least 6 months since I've even looked at them
The original game is a lot like Magic Duels. At least the card game portion
Okay, I have rewatched this video multiple times over the years. How is today the first time I noticed that ProJared had a cat appear in the corner of the video when he was showing off his cards?
A pc game from 1997 is better than 2 console games released in the late 2000s. How embarrassing
True dat. I don't understand why the keep making new Duels of the Planeswalkers and don't focus on a new and improved MTG Online more.
Not sure how I feel about getting in to pokemon cards at age 23 though...
turtleman3651 Omigod Yes!
Bdat weed smell it's like weed
i really hate hearthstone
I have a MTG deck myself, but I've never had a chance to use it. There aren't many places in my neighborhood to play it so, y'know. That and I don't know anyone else who plays.
Go to ur card / comic book store
Tanner Lewis i dont have one.
Jeremy Garner If you live near Hutchinson, KS, the Hastings there has Magic matches every Saturday and Friday
Do what Jared did and get another one, and face yourself.
Jeremy Garner I have almost the exact same problem. The only people I play with are my brother and cousin, and the only local card store is very obscure; meaning few people know it even exists.
"Have you met my brothers? We're centuplets!" Goodness, their poor mother...
So, did anyone else feel lost while watching this video?
I only play Yu-Gi-Oh so none of this made sense to me, Blue Eyes White Dragon for life!
I did play a little bit of Magic, so I wasn't completely confused, but all the Magic jokes were lost for me (Except maybe the Leviathan, because, if I remember correctly, I think his ablility was that he couldn't do anything without discarding two mana, wich I remember being super inconvenient)
But I agree with the fact that Yu-gi-oh master race! I mean come on! We have the Chouxvalier!
img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131012171826/yugioh/images/9/95/MadolcheChouxvalier-REDU-EN-R-1E.png
It's a knight... who's also a Choux à la creme.
It bloody wins!
*MY BLUE EYES!!!!*
Black INK.I.M If you like that card look up "hungry burger" if you don't already know about it.
You can probably guess what it looks like.
Broly-Chan
Ooh, that's a good one, too bad Ritual Monster aren't that useful anymore
Black INK.I.M
not really, with the new anime, they've been really stressing on other kind of summoning, ritual included
We need something like YGOPro but MTG instead with ALL CARDS ever made, Yeah in YGOPro you can use ANYCARD even Japan only ones, anime, Manga, ETC. Its so awesome.
***** MTG is better.
***** Still more fun.
TheLastRaven6 What he didn't mention in the video was that the old MTG computer game has a mode where you can construct a deck using ANY cards released up until that time. We need a newer version like this, where you can play against your friends!
Z3N17H1U5 That's what YGOPro is more or less. though it doesn't have a reliable way to setting up matches with friends.
***** I mean, theres no real dedicated chat system or a friends list system.
Ahhh, that new card smell. It's like Comaneci for nerds.
The tutorial witch is Rhea Seahorn aka Kim Wexler from Better Caul Saul.
That's amazing.
glad i can watch this once again without feeling guilty!!
I wonder what PJ thinks of Magic Duel.
You should do a play through of this game on your other channel.
I got into the game a few years back at a summer class. Played it a good bit there. When I got back I had nobody to play it with so I mostly forgot how to play. Now I find that one of my friend is a huge fan of it so... Time to relearn by watching ProJared.
I'm a Yu-Gi_oh! pleyr myself (even though I do admit Magic is superior, but it doesn't strike my nostalgia nerves), and all the old (official) YGO games are RPGs too, and I fucking love it
Though the only actual good multiplayer game is unofficial
