  • It snowed quite a bit and had a bit of trouble getting into the field with the truck and trailer.

    tire chains are wonderful in the winter. i was saying to my self you better clean the snow off the palet forks before you hook up. it dose not take much snow and it will not latch right. beautiful looking cows . it bring a smile too my face when you post a video. thanks.

    Tyson, you can KEEP THE SNOW ! 70* F yesterday Jan. 11 and 67* today in Connecticut with only races of old snow plow piles ! BEEF, IT"S WHAT"S FOR DINNER ! I love to watch my sirloins pack on the protein. sdh in CT

    I keep a short piece of pipe in the skid steer cab and use it to assist closing the lock levers for bucket or forks. Makes it less jarring to the body and you don't need to stand on it trying to break an ankle lol

    We got hit with lots of snow here in Manitoba as well. I am in the process of bringing the remainder of our hay bales from field still making it hard with all the snow we’ve gotten lately. Man Im a slacker. Anyways love the videos and all the best from your friends in Manitoba 🇨🇦🍻

    À guy can really load bales in a hurry with the skid steer. Makes all the difference in the world when you can see the bale right in front of you. That's why I like the bi directionals. Great visibility.

    Chains really make a difference on skidsteer. What model is it? Just use one fork when unloading wagon faster than heck,Im sure your bales are tight enough. I have an old Vermeer baler and cant get bales tight enough for me to stab with one fork. lol

    Really Tyson??? No knife.. LOL
    We don't use pallet forks for bales much, just Spears. When we used to do rounds, no one had pallet forks anyway 😂 they work for big bales, but you get into the ground a bit.

    Everytime I see snow I am so glad that I retired in the Philippines. Originally from upstate NY with years spent in Maine and Wisconsin.

      Yes My Taal volcano but at least the lava is not cold. Actually it has started to subside. Most of the damage was in about a twenty kilometer radius around the thing. We are located about 250 miles from it on another island.

    All in a day's work, eh? Yeah, that was definitely a snowy experience. How much work is it to angle the blade on the 8? Good to see the cows were more than ready to eat that hay. The look on their faces was likely how we all look when we smell steaks cooking (but don't tell them that.)

      It can be hard..if you balance it just right you can do it by yourself...but pretty much need 2 people to swing it over

    You do know that there are warm cows grazing in still growing pasture in the southern US today. Yall could sell your million acres up there and buy 500 acres in South Alabama and feed the same number of cows without a baler or a D8. But I love watching you make it work. Thanks for sharing.

    Tyson, what do you consider to be cold? I noticed the cows have a thick coat of hair I never noticed that before. I thought they had short hair so I am sure they stay warmer than I thought they would up there. I am sure they still like the straw.

      I consider it cold when it's in the negative 30s like it is this morning. Minus 34 c right now. No the cows get a thick coat of hair for winter time. They shed it off in summer.

      @@Northern_Farmer I never knew that cows got winter and summer coats. That is very cool. I am pretty sure minus 34c is the same as minus 34f so yea that is super cold. Today here its 73f today.

    Need a spear for the ole bobcat! I like to unload and load with the skidder too it’s so much easier to maneuver and nice to be able to transport the bucket and spear together cause you never know when you’ll need one or the other haha

    I use a utility knife with a hook blade really works good for me last longer than a straight blade.

    Could you by chance do a review on your skidder?
    I’d love to know the make the model how much it cost to purchase what attachments you’ve had what jobs you use it for. Advantages disadvantages of it.
    I’d love to get one for myself but I’m starting to think that it would be pretty limited to what it would do.
    But could very easily save me traveling to the fall calving yard 7 miles away with the big tractor and allow me to just do the limited chores down there leaving me with way less traveling time for a year

    Hey if you don't want those 30s we'll take them In Mississippi USA. I am getting tired of hearing them complaining about it being cold at 40° F. I think a nice shot of -30° C should be a nice wakeup call to them.

      I'm surprised how well it gets around... Mine does great pushing snow in the yard, but out in the field, not so good... But then, when we get snow, it's the wet shit that turns to ice as soon as you drive on it... And the ground usually isn't frozen very well....

      I picked up a Takehuchi.....Takachoochoo......Take a chachee.....one o them skidsteers but it didn't have a door so not using it too much but it has tracks, great in the field but not on the road.

    Where's your gloves ?? Do your hands not crack and split ? I always keep the super glue handy and glue mine back together. The snow looks fluffy. We hardly ever get snow, but if we do you can bet it's heavy and wet :( It's supposed to be in the 70's here several days next week. Until next time stay warm :)

      Wow, seriously ?!?! I wonder why ? I don't know anyone here that it doesn't happen to in the winter. I wonder if it's because of humidity ? If you find out what the secret is please let me know first :) I really do super glue the splits back together, if you don't they hurt !!

      Yes they are outside. We have shelter for them here but they dont go inside...its bad if they are inside because they start to sweat and then they get sick if they go back out in the cold

    Think I would rather some snow than the 2 " of rain we had yesterday in west of Scotland. Same again forecast for tomorrow. Just about impossible to feed cows outside in this weather.

      same here in midlands ireland .......wet .........ground very wet now ........slurry ban lifted tomorrow , ground waterlogged .......during the last days of dec ground was dry enough , but was during the closed period ..........

      Cause it's to hot..you dont freeze on cats because the fan blows all the engine heat back at you. Very warm
