About time, a GOOD review with some hours (550 in Two years)with some "real world use". Not just a "Dumb" 50 hour fluid change,or a loader &or backhoe removal vidio--- all instruction in the operators manual---no brainers!!. Seems like you are getting your money's worth. THANKS for the great Video Sir and happy safe tractoring .
Thanks for being kinda rough on it to me it shows the durability of RK tractors , Thats for sure some force to fold those loader arms forward just wow , Thanks for a honest review i have the RK25 with only 89 hours , Good vid and subd !
Thanks for the input. 110 hours on mine after 2 year. I've watched what you've done with yours and if these are the only problems you've had it makes me feel good about mine lasting.
Yeah seems to be a great tractor so far. No regrets and handles everything I do.
Ive had my RK55 shuttle shift for 3 years.. 800 hrs. I've changed fluids when supposed to per manual. It has been awesome tractor..my only complaint is the muffler location. When it gos into regen it smokes me out of cab because it stinks
You basically just abuse it....no greasing...no washing....no pride in owning a nice piece of equipment...and in the end you will have problems because of lack of general maintenence. Great Video and honest assessment!!!
It gets maintenance and grease, that's why there was grease on the loader... but I don't wash it since it's dirty again within few hours/ next day. Gets washed right before maintenance/ a repair or I just happen to be washing already.
Ive had my RK55 for 3 or so months now.
The only problem I am having problems with is the front loader. I had to tie down the bucket attach/detach levers. I was moving some cut brush and the unlatch lever arm and before I noticed it the front loader square horizontal frame twisted. I was able to man handle the bucket and front loader arm to fix it.
My second experience is when I was getting myself unstuck by using a wire rope, I passed the cable under the bucket to attach it to the frame. The cable was touching the bucket. When I pulled it out the bucket is now twisted. I know this isn't a commercial front loader but it should be capable of normal farm used. I tied the bucket levers down with a cargo strap.
Other than that, it has been an incredible value for the bucket. Just don't use it past it capability which is hard to predict sometimes.
where you get tilt link? i have a 2022 tym n same thing. my paint held up well. a cutting edge on bucket made huge difference. im very happy with mine
All paints fade in the sun but, red is probably the color that fades the most. How did you bend the drawbar? I would put it in a press to straighten it out.
Thanks for doing the review. I'm considering what tractor to buy and this one is in the running, but you always wonder how it lasts over time.
Considering the paces I've put it through so far I'd buy another atm. I do have a good connection with regional tech manager too so that helps him being based out of my hometown vs few stores away.
Any problems with the ac my pump is kicking on and off even when cool I have cleaned radiators out may just need a charge what type of freon
No problems with a/c besides when bush hogging tall stuff and it gets clogged but that's every tractor. Should be the standard freon in stores.
how do you get the a/c cooler screen out to clean , radiator screen slides right out a/c is blocked on all four sides , and can you pull a tag along right ft brush hog ?
Isn’t RK the same as TYM? We don’t have RK around central Georgia.
Yes it is.
Travis. I think Mahindra tractors had a problem with paint fade.
As far as you not babying the tractor, you wouldn't have an interesting channel if you did.
Thanks for the update.
I'm really looking forward to you using the mini excavator on the tree line around the fields.
Yeah tym also makes Mahindra I believe. I'm ready to work on tree line too but it'll be November before they do our fields.
Hello. RK 55 hydrostatic cab owner out of Kentucky here. The switch for the hazard lights on mine will not stay on. I do not remember if it is supposed to stay clicked on or not when you press it.🤔
Yeah they should stay on when you press it. Should be a quick easy fix. Should be able to contact rk mechanic to get one ordered under warranty. But in But in meantime it's normally only needed at night by law on the road. Daytime only need triangle around here.
My fuel cap has messed up three times the screen breaks then the cap leaks fuel out pretty bad
Thanks man for the review. I have a TC40 DA New Holland now. But I want tractor with a cab. I looked at the RK but wasn't sure. I'm thinking I might try one. Anything else I need to know please tell me. Thanks again.
I'm pretty rough with it and besides operator error/ tough stuff. It's been mint performance wise.
I had heard about the paint fading quickly. Pink tractor is no bueno... but, hey, my hair completely faded away LOL. Did you attempt to address loader brackets under warranty or was the one year for the "attachment" already expired at the time? I don't think a cab would survive my trails. Good review! I've seen good reviews where the overall machine is very tough but a few little things outside the drivetrain just haven't been the most durable. I would say RK is still young, but they are really TYM, so the little things should have been figured out by now.
Well I knew it was over the 1 year and I messaged the mechanic to ask how much the new brackets were because of that. He was the one who insisted he try for warranty So we did that and it was warranted 2 ½ years old. And the paint doesn't bother me I'm thinking about getting it linex.

I just bought an RK 55 with a L110 front loader. There is a push button on the bucket control lever. It is suppose to be the bucket leveler. Mine does nothing. Is this an option on the RK55/L110 loader?
That button is for controlling the 3rd function/ diverter valve to control hydraulic functions like a grapple, angle blade, pole saw, etc
@@SwiftOutdoors Thank you sir! I really like this tractor. It was very affordable and well built. Best if all, it is not from China. I was leary about buying a Rural King brand tractor until I found out they were made by a major tractor manufacturer and the fact that my RK is in Waverly, Ohio where they assemble them.
How on earth did you bend the hitch??
No clue. Don't recall even hitting anything 🤔
I wasn't aware they upgraded the braces. I took delivery of my tractor a few weeks ago. Is there anyway that I would be able to check?
Yes. There will be a brace on the topside of the big round piece connecting the thick metal piece the loader mounts on.
@@SwiftOutdoors thank you ill definifely check this weekend
@@SwiftOutdoors Yes I see them and I see it in your video. I believe I do.
Do you keep the tractor outside at all times?
99% of the time. It's normally loaded up in dump trailer ready to head to next job.
Do you get water from your ceiling vents while running the AC? I do.
Nope. Never had that issue. Sounds like you might take top off and double check that the tube for the condensation is on correctly.
@@SwiftOutdoors so many screws! Lol
I believe someone mentioned 4 bolts and the red top will pop off. But yeah the headliner is a pain.
The paint faded on my 2018 Rk-55 also
