    AWESOME, I bought my RK55 a year ago, little hobby farmer. From 30 year army vet to mini farm. I only have 70 hours on, but I've only had 1 issue. My Regen light came on and for the life of my could not manually get it into cycle... Had the field tech come out, hook up the lap top.. and boom good. I just learned several things from you vid, first the engine side panels come off😅😮.. That HELPS. and the switch for auto transmission breaking, I thought that was a 4 hi/lo thing.. thanks much buddy
    . I'm awaiting approval to get on FB ..

    I believe this will be the perfect fit for me. I overuse my L3901 Kubota.....I refuse to pay for a name in 50hp class tractor. The RK37 would have been a better first choice over the L3901...but I now see these compact 50hp tractors are a better fit for my farm and wooded property. I will check out the FB site.

    They should give you a little something. I just bought mine today and used this video as reference to what I wanted.

      Nice. I'm not sure if I would though now. If I receive something I'm sure there's a contract about keeping hush about repairs/break downs. Heard a few youtubers talking about they wouldn't partner up with a company because of that, like kubota.

      @@SwiftOutdoors it's heresay for me but from what I understand, RK never asked that from Outdoor with the Morgans. However it makes sense that those obligations exist. From what Mike said they approached him at about 10k followers. Speaking from experience the same thing happened to me at about 10k followers on different things I've been a part of. That must be the magic number. I wish you luck tho, you have good content that people listen to so tons of followers should happen in due time.

    good review thank you. I like the honesty showing the damage from operator "error",learning curve, leaks ect. Thats real world usage. Just a quick question what size batwing mower would the rk55 run comfortably for hay field use.

    • @SwiftOutdoors
      @SwiftOutdoors  3 роки тому

      Not sure haven't ran one behind it yet. But I've seen a 25 hp run a rhino 10 ft in medium grass. So I would think the rk55 would handle 12ft in thick grass easy enough. But a newer batwing is more efficiently putting power out vs an older one so that might be a factor too.

    Would you say that this is a Kubota copy or it’s own tractor?

    • @SwiftOutdoors
      @SwiftOutdoors  4 роки тому +1

      Kubota is a more premium brand. The rk is a tym copy. But went with rk mainly because it wasn't going to be a commercial piece and I don't like the toe/ heel hydrostatic kubota has.

    I have been looking at these tractors for awhile now, I like them.
    My only concern is will the Rural King stores survive.
    I now own a John Deere 110TLB but they have stopped making it, I also want a cab.

      I think rk is good to go. But incase not.... tym is definitely not going anywhere so parts will be available not matter what.

      RK has been around since 1960 and I never heard of them until videos like this. After going to the store for the first time today, I can't believe there aren't more of them. The place is amazing. It had everything from Carhartt shirts to live chickens and Tractors.

      About same as any other hydrostatic machine. Normally means its working hard and need to work in a lower gear. Should be good just make sure to check fuild levels and don't run low

    Have you had any issues with the 4wd disengaging by being bumped by the seatbelt canister?

      Huh. I'm taking mine in to RK at my 50hrs soon. Going to have them look at it. When I bounce down in the seat it pushes my 4wd handle down into 2wd and I've had a few scares on hills.

    Is your bucket level? There has been a lot of discussion on tractorbynet about that. Just wonder how they will hold up after the warranty runs out

    • @SwiftOutdoors
      @SwiftOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Mine is level. The biggest problem with unleveled loaders comes from lifting too much weight on one side of the loader(operator error). They all will twist some when you do that. The not recommended but easy fix is to lift something heavy via other side to twist it back level. Warranty is 1 year on loader so at time of this video it was already out of warranty and closing in on 2nd year now and will have updated review video.

      @donr4602 3 роки тому

      I'm the one that started the original post on tractorbynet concerning the tilted bucket. This has never been resolved and there are numerous owners with the issue. Odd thing is that there are two assembly site in the US and all but one owner have tractors assembled in Williston, FL. I have never lifted anything heavier than a 800lb roll of hay with a hay spear. Sometime in the future I'm going to try loosening the FEL mount on the tractor and see if I can adjust it there. Since all seem to be from one assembly site I think it's an alignment issue.

    I’m a newbie to tractors, but my RK55 hydrostatic cab has been fantastic. 🤔

  • @david7530
    @david7530 4 роки тому

    Thx for your helpful review - good job. I have about 110 hrs on my RK55HC. Problems thus far have been a leaking steering cylinder (replaced under warranty), and a leaking seal at the 4x4 drive shaft (bought the seal and plan to replace myself.) Also had a weird issue of fan blades hitting the fan shroud when the tractor is on uneven ground. Adjusted the shroud and that happens less frequently now. Loader bucket is about 3/4 of an inch higher on one side, not a huge deal. No issues with fuel cap area yet. Overall really like the tractor. Service is lacking at my store though so hopefully nothing major happens as I will be fixing everything myself, within reason.
    Any idea how to remove the smaller engine screen? The radiator screen slides out easily. The smaller screen appears to have something blocking it on every side.

      On my small screen I have two wing nuts on the top side of screen to remove screen.

    • @david7530
      @david7530 4 роки тому

      @@SwiftOutdoors Yep - same on mine. Trouble is, the screen is bracketed in on all sides by other components. While you can get the screen loose with the wingnuts, there's no way to actually remove it from the tractor without also removing some of the items around it. At least that's the way it looks to me. It appears to only be removable from the right side of the tractor, but there are two black brackets preventing you from doing so.
