With the shift points on the speedometer, a tach largely isn't needed. This unit isn't as good for real time sampling but it is a cheap alternative to try out.

I don't know a thing about how to design for a 3D printer. Could you design a mount for an 85mm instrument pod that I could use to house a gps speedometer and tach combo using the acty clock location like you've done? I'd pay you!

Thanks for showing the locations for all the necessary contact points! I plan to install a traditional tach in my ‘93 Acty. You said the 3-cylinder setting on the tach won’t work on the Acty? And why is your tach’s reading so jumpy?

On this particular tach, the impulse signal works best for the Acty on the 6 cylinder mode, but this may differ for other tachs. The “jumpy” effect has to do with the the tach I’m using as well. If you were to look at a 50’s era race car it’s just as jumpy even though it’s an analog dial tach. The smooth movement on tachs is achieved artificially, by being liquid filled or programming.

Finally got my GlowShift 2” tach connected. Would have been super easy, but, of course, you run into problems that cost you tons of time. In my case, the most difficult thing was, I mounted the tach on the dash (above the speedo cluster) using a GlowShift tach mount and had to drill a hole in the dash (although I didn’t want to) to run the wiring through. The problem was that right below the dash is a very tight space, and I didn’t want to take the dash apart.The hole didn’t just lead to an ope area below it. So, I had to get a hanger and try to fish for the wiring and pull it out of the tight space. After idk how many tries, I finally got it out. Other than that, it was pretty easy connecting everything else thanks to your video. Wish I could post a pic here of it.
