    your teeth is razor sharp rod; reminds me of the northern pike I lost last week (cut through the leader)

      Not recommended of course, as it is not the best habit but it's convenient. I've done it my whole life and it shows on my teeth.

    Nice video. I like to use spiderwire or miracle thread to tie roe on the hook

    Videos would be way better if the camera was focused more on the hook and leader or line otherwise, there still good videos

    Hey Rod, God bless you and yours. I've never fished with Roe before, but being from the south i have fished for catfish using a bait i call catfish balls a friend makes of dog food and some other odor filled things he blends into a thick paste. If this stuff was put onto a hook it desalve in a minute. So he uses either an old pair of stockings or cheese cloth to help it last longer. We would make a few dozen the night before. Could you use stockings or cheese cloth for roe to help it last longer on the hook?

      Thanks Victor, we do use stockings similarly to your catfish fishery. We often tie roe into big sacs with stockings for our sturgeon fishery.

      Yes, with some modification it can become a hair rig.

    When demonstrating how how to tie a knot it would be much better if the camera stayed on your hands all the time. When the camera pulls back to show your full body it is easy to get lost when learning. Maybe I need a bigger screen

    What trip of fishing rods do u use for salmon

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  5 років тому

      what rods do we use for salmon? Depending on the techniques being used, typically a 10'6" baitcasting or centerpin rod for float fishing, or a 9' spinning rod for casting lures. Shimano Clarus and Gloomis IMX or E6X are our favourite brands/series.

    What is average trout size for Fraser?

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  5 років тому +2

      For cutthroat trout, the average size of a feeder is between 10 and 14 inches long, you'll find fish up to 18 inches or more from time to time. For bull trout, they tend to be slightly bigger. Biggest bull trout I've encountered in the Fraser River is around 8lb.

    You have a bad camera man. Wanted to learn this hook tie but...Why isn't he your camera man zoomed in at alL times. It's one thing to explain but w your camera man going in and out makes your video inconsistent and confusing and hard to follow. Fire your camera man🤣
