for those saying it's not bad - It took about 10 minutes to finally get this thing connected to the iPad. The whole point of the magic keyboard is how easy it is to connect, all you have to do is attach it. The fact that it's battery powered means you have to charge it while the real magic keyboard uses the iPads power. The Magic keyboard gives you 2 USB-C ports, one you can use to power the device (wireless charge) freeing up the iPad's USB-C slot . I'll tell it over and over again. China has 3 qualities which are Best, Decent and Low depends on the price you offer to them. Want the same as original? Just pay more money. Don't have much but need the product? Get the decent one. Budget is tight and still want it? The low quality is also available. Lot of big company in US also manufactures product at China due to cheap production's cost such as Apple yet they choose the Best Quality.
Edit : based on what he got, it's the low quality one but overpriced due to shipping fee and US currency. I'm from Indonesia, the price here is around 15 bucks ( profit + tax included ), could be below 10 if you buy it directly at China.

@@vivalavivaldi there's a company that makes pretty good low profile mechanical keyboards and also sells a case that makes it attach to an ipad.
Still, if i were to do any type of writing, i would rather use a custom keyboard. Laptop keyboards are always absolutely garbage in comparison to even budget custom boards
@@your_average_cultured_dude so you always bring a loud ass custom keyboard to college lectures? I would have gotten kicked out in no time when I was in college. My Magic Keyboard does what it’s supposed to do, the keys have a quite nice slightly tactile touch comparable to MX brown switches. Plus it has a great touch pad, is nice and thin and does not require a stand in the back like all other keyboards. No way I’m switching away from it

1. They don't have to be loud. Quiet mechanical keyboards are way quieter than membranes.
2. MX browns are some of the worst switches you can possibly get. There are hundreds of better options for both tactile and linear switches. MX browns are a literal meme.
3. All of apple's keyboards feel and sound horrible, ESPECIALLY for their price. They're as good as dollar store keyboards. You can get so much more for way less money.
The only good things about this case are the battery and trackpad. And even then, with iPadOS, the trackpad is nowhere near as functional as it would be on a real OS.
Yes, i do always bring my 60% keyboard with me. Once you try a GOOD keyboard, you can never go back to regular ones.

It’s actually really good, great feeling keyboard for typing, almost as good as desktop Magic Keyboard, ideal stand, good case, the extra USB-C port is handy. Yeah it’s a little pricey but you know you’re getting Apple quality

I've got one too and I friggin love it. No connectivity issues or anything. Battery lasts long. I can't even remember the last time I charged it.

@@princesamontina138 I'm from India. I got my laptop from a brand called "Infinix" - it's a Chinese brand. The laptop itself is a 14 incher with a 10th gen core i3, 8gb ram, 256gb SSD, slim form factor and backlit keyboard. For the price, it's bang for the buck. There's even a cheaper version of the laptop with a celeron processor - that can be had for around $240.

I must have a cheaper version of the apple Magic Keyboard or maybe it’s only like that with the newer models of the iPad but I think mine was 200-300 dollars and doesn’t have those connectors he talked about

@@MrsDougiefresh07 Took forever to connect, and doesn't have any of the features the original has. The original connects instantly and you can charge both the keyboard and the iPad at the same time. It feels incredibly cheap and pretty much slams when you try to close it.

The Apple is in no way comparable to the Samsung. First of all, the Samsung still needs as stand in the back. Secondly, the Samsung sounds and feels like a plastic bomb that is about to explode any second. 100 $ is steep for that crappy thing and I would argue that Apple has a better price to quality ratio here

I got one at Best Buy that was on resale and that it couldn’t be return, description said it just didn’t work properly, I still have it, it’s an original I bought for like $60 and it was a steal tbh, I lucked out on that one!

Nothing, literally, I bought it for my iPad Pro 12.9 in and it works perfectly fine with no issues, the charging port works, the pins to charge the iPad works, the magnets, all the bachklit key, the keyboard buttons all work. Absolute perfect condition

Three-hundred dollars for magnets, hinges, a few pogo pins, and what's presumably a typical membrane keyboard. No doubt it's well made, but I have no clue where these companies got the balls to expect such extortionate prices for single-use accessories. Not just Apple, this includes Microsoft, Logitech, Razer, Corsair, SteelSeries, Roccat, and any other popular peripheral company expecting $150+ _minimum_ for most things released in the last couple years. Design, engineering, manufacture, they're all more efficient and less of a burden for these larger companies; and at how ubiquitous these names are, they're pushing sales numbers that quickly make up for product creation cost. I get that the whole point of a business is to make money, but the pricing of these things SAIL past the rate of inflation. It's been a test of the waters to see what they can get away with, and people just keep rewarding companies for playing greedy games. The romanized point of Capitalism is that competition drives innovation and keeps pricing reasonable, but these kinds of companies realized that if they invest enough in marketing, enough people will commit to buy without considering alternatives, therefore no need for competing for lower prices when they can just follow each other in raising prices.
Don’t forget development costs. Theres a report on those and they are ludicrously high, there’s a good reason why Samsung or Microsoft Surface don’t have an equivalent.

@@reahs4815 the shape of Pringles chips was 300 Million to develop, to have a shape that is stackable yet doesn’t fly away with a small wind gust in the factory. It’s not always the things that seem complicated that really are complicated.
As previously mentioned, there’s a good reason why Microsoft Surface or Samsung don’t have equivalents for their keyboards

I bought a fake keyboard from another manufacturer and it also connects via bluetooth, while also having its own, independent charging port. However, it connected instantly on bluetooth and the trackpad works quite smoothly, and it only costed 50$

i’ve had my magic keyboard since july 2020 and i use it everyday. it’s really held up and i’m not disappointed i ended up choosing it. well worth when you’ve got the ipad pro.
