- Extinct Chuck E Cheese Animatronic Characters! Chuck e Cheese Pizza Time Theatre had become known for its animatronic characters. Since the first Chuck E Cheese opened in 1977 many animatronic characters were removed and have become extinct from the family pizza restaurants so today we'll be taking a look at the history of the Chuck E Cheese pizza time theatre restaurants and counting down the Top 10 Extinct animatronics that you can't find in the restaurants today. The Chuck E Cheese restaurants were bought by Showbiz Pizza Place in 1984 with the full merger happening by 1992. It was recently announced that Chuck E Cheese would undergo their first major renovation in 20 years and will remove the animatronic band. Munch's Make Believe Band will eventually become fully extinct and go down in Chuck E Cheese history.

Even though they're kinda creepy, I was always fascinated by the animatronics. Sure, the movements were klunky and awkward, but I can forgive that.

Been yeas since I went to my local Chuck E Cheese but last time I went they had only one animatronic that was only used during birthdays. Now that I think about it they really didn't care bout the kids. I remember actually getting on stage with the damn thing
The Animatronics may get a bit Quirky at night, but do I
blame them? No! Singing the same old songs since the seventies and haven't been washed since then either.
I heard some animatronic fans say that the reason kids stopped looking at the animatronics was because of the fact that they were relegated to being mere side show attractions.
The animatronics were the very reasons why Chuck E. Cheese stood out amongst all other pizza place. Once the animatronics go extinct along with whatever magic it brought, CEC will just be another pizza place. Which is ironic to say the least. CEC used to have an old slogan that said "Without magic, it's just another pizza place."
No one really looked at them cuz only chuck e gets actual proper repairs and even on the last moments the animatronics won't perform they just move
But still everyone loved the animatronics who said ppl stopped looking at them
i think it's also bc it's honestly not impressive anymore. now, i love any animatronic and CEC holds a very special place in my heart but if we're being honest animatronic figures just don't have that WOW! factor anymore since anybody can make them with minimal coding knowledge and new age programming, that's how people are able to reprogram old animatronics and how people create their own FNAF animatronics at home. when Showbiz Pizza and CEC was first introduced it was a pretty impressive concept that just hasn't held up over the years. same goes for other things like CGI.

@@shimmeringscales Imagine if CEC had Disney's expertise in animatronic technology. You say animatronics aren't impressive now to you, but what about back then I wonder? Children at young age are impressionable and whatever memories they had back then can exacerbate into that particular magic they want back when they eventually get much older.
If I could revive a Chuck E. Cheese animatronic character, I’d probably bring back the first guy, crusty the cat. Think he deserves some more show time after only going through one year.

The king is back. They stopped producing king animatronics in 1985, a very good man found the remaining King Animatronics and redesigned them into something better. There's one animatronic that was a king animatronic which turned into an Endo skeleton named four.

Fun fact! Wilmington nc closed in 2020/21 and munch jr was sold to a private collector. 1 year later, in pineville nc, in 2022, munch jr is brought back in a new look. The new can kind of looks like a bucket and munch jr is missing his propeller cap. Stay glad cec fans!

Sometimes while i was eating the pizza there, i would just stare at the animatronics and i would zone out from the conversation i was in. I never liked the idea of a dance floor that much though (socal anxiety always prevented me from dancing or presenting infront of others). Whats your opinion on the animatronics/dance floor?
yeah i think thats the same with very other kid and i think it was a bad idea to get rid of the animations because you don have to be in front of everybody you can watch from your seat or walk up to the stage the thing that sucks is that before they got rid of the animations at my location the already had the "cool dance floor" and then like 2 years later the stage was gone replaced with a wall with old band RIP munches make believe band
When I was a kid, we only had one animatronic, Chuck E himself. All the kids would surround him, and never the dance floor. I went back recently, and noticed that the kids cared more about the games than Chuck E. Even more than in the past. It’s really a shame… I miss the good old days, haha.

I have never been to a chuck e cheese restaurant but i love animatronics and Five nights at Freddys, It is sad to see the animatronics going, 😢hopefully we can save them.
By the time I was old enough to enjoy Chuck E Cheese bdays, the animatronics were gone and costumes were in. It wasn’t until I was traumatize by FNaF to really enjoy it.
What is fnaf? I was a 80's baby so my whole childhood of chuck e cheese was animatronics. I have a kid now and feel like he is missing out on the Old school real experience......but I still was seeing the fnaf comments and wanted to know what it was?

There’s a store called jungle Jim’s in Ohio that took the king animatronic and is used in. The candy department still singing Elvis songs. It’s a cool look at for people who know about chuckie cheese.
This right here is the video that got me into Chuck E. Cheese’s as a whole. This will sound extremely corny, but I cannot thank you enough for even making this. I wouldn’t have met the people I have today and had as much fun as I have had in recent years, proud to say that CEC is a special interest of mine and has been for 7 whole years now. I was a kid with unrestricted internet access for the most part, and stumbling across your CEC videos really awakened something in me. My biological dad used to take me to Chuck E. Cheese’s all the time, he’s no longer with us (he left because he’s a loser tbh) and this small series of videos really got me through it. CEC saved me, your videos saved me. Rewatching this 7 years later feels unreal. I’m finally seeing Pizzacam for the first time in a few weeks, I’ve seen the rock-afire explosion perform countless times now, and I’m so so happy to say that my special interest has changed me for the better. I appreciate this series of videos, even if it’s small. :)

Foxy Colleen, Sally, Mr. Munch, Billy Bob, later 80's Chuck E., and The King (Elvis) animatronics would be amazing to own. But to also restore and maybe give them new homes where they'd never get tossed. I wish I had the job and money to own (mostly) the King animatronic. He is very adorable and I've looked up to that animatronic (literally) the past several years.

If I had to resurrect/bring back a character it would be Foxy Colleen & Crusty the Cat.
Harmony Howlette, Madame Oink, Dolli Dimples, Sally Sashay (recreated), and surprisingly B.B Bubbles were already saved.
Foxy Collen on the other hand hasn't had that same attention yet. I know there's at least 1 Crusty left, but he isn't fully operational.
Id never took my eye off the animatronics unless i was playing a game i love thos animatronics its the only thing that keeps up the five nights at freddys in my heart.

3:24 I remember this set up when I was very young. In 1988 I had my 6th birthday at chuck E cheese and remember my friends and I trying to jump up by the stage ledge, as if we were tall enough to grab it and pull ourselves up to see what was under them.

ZOOM OMEGA I just went to one of the locations in Virginia just yesterday and they still have the Chuck E. Cheese animatronic there so maybe they didn’t get rid all of them.

Personally I hate the change. Animatronics are so cool and I always watched them as a kid I wish they could bring back some of the old ones they had and fix them up instead of everything being electronic

I would only go to Chuck E . Cheeses with friends or for birthday parties (counting my own) . I can remember being weirded out / afraid of the animatronics , but now I wish I appreciated them more ! The Make Believe Band animatronics were awesome ! They interest me more than ever ! I hope some of the animatronics were saved from when CEC locations closed !

I don’t want the company to just forget about the animatronics that’s the point of Chuck.E.Chesse’s it’s so nice just to Eat your pizza and watch the gang perform!! The kids in the front are taking pics with Chucky himself and having a blast waving to him and such..also I think it would be a good idea to leave the animatronics and instead of Chucky coming out by himself and just dancing with the Kids handing out tickets they should bring the Whole gang!! That way we have both

I would probably save Helen henny and madam oink. But in reality all the characters hold a special place in people’s hearts. I’m glad that their doing walk around characters for all the animatronics now. I think it would be cool if they did a cabaret style show where each character has a small stage decorated to theme. Then they all sing a set of songs with audience interaction like they do with mr. potato head at Disney world. They just need a hidden cast member to choose the lines.
I just want to go back in time to see all of them again
