Never expected for the largest Chuck E. Cheese to have no animatronics, insane how one of the most memorable attractions of the company is missing in the largest store. At least the security guards don't need to worry about them at night, not to mention if they even have security guards at night.
Yes it was quite a different beast back then. People were in costume and the animatronics were in every store. Over time though many kids got scared of them. That combined with the upkeep and the fact that many employees would not apply for the job of giant character in a suit led to all the Chyckie cheeses being taken out. This also sparked a rebranding/redesign of Chucke himself into the much smaller early teenage looking CGI rat. A few stores had a animatronic of that version of Chucke behind a plate glass design but even that didn’t last long. I do miss those old days. In fact, many of the locations around the US have closed down. This location is probably one of the few remaining period.

I never knew that they had all of that stuff still on the third floor! It has the potential to be some form of museum exhibit but knowing CEC they’d never do something like that. And as a fellow mid-Michigander I really miss the Flint location. It was smaller but was well kept.

Awesome!! Memories unlocked!! So I’m 46, and from Gilroy (30 miles south) I had at least 2 birthday parties here in the early 80’s!! Let me tell you, they had WAY more animatronics, especially upstairs! There was a huge stage too! The games used to be better too! Thanks for making this video!
Yes this store had the most animatronic characters on the first floor and second floor I believe the second floor was home to the king the main floor when you first walk in had all the characters and somewhere around the corner I believe on the first floor there was also Dolly dimples and the beach Bowsers all the noise this location along with all the others was way better back in the 80s to early 90s and they had real arcade games
@Alphabet Lore Family wdym, it was a joke, the building looked like the pizzeria in fnaf Security breach, obi I don't play it, but chiiiill it's a joke mann.
I enjoyed seeing some of that 3rd floor history, because most of the modern Chuck E. Cheeses I've seen just make me sad. I have such fond nostalgia for the 80s version. My single (at the time) mom worked at ours and I spent many hours there basically having free run of the place. I ate my dinners there, always had pockets full of tokens I didn't have to pay for thanks to the awesome managers, I used my game tickets to buy packs of baseball cards, and i even got to do a "junior" version of one of the costumed characters for an event once. It was a magical time, and an amazing escape from the realities my family's economic status at the time.
Sad that they also got rid of the animatronics. For such an iconic Chuck E Cheese location I thought they may keep them around. But their selection of games is better than most Dave n’ Buster’s I’ve been to so that’s really great to see.
I don’t think many if any still have animatronics. I wish they did! I know my local Chuck E. Cheese is a sad sight inside. Everything’s just screens now, white and grey modern and cold.
@@Bea56601 there's around 190 something locations that still have animatronics. I have a spreadsheet that I update frequently but it's difficult to keep track when people say a location is remodeling one month and they delay it for several months later, plus the locations that are actually remodeling it's unknown when they actually remove the stage until somebody says when they actually removed it.
I grew up in San Jose and I thought every chuck e cheese was this big, was really bummed out when I visited my local chuck e cheese for nostalgia's sake
San Jose native. I spent my childhood here in the 80s. Some of my absolute best childhood memories are at this location. I still went pretty regularly for the games until they remodeled it. I miss the old one with the animatronics and everything, even though as a kid the animated taxidermy on the wall gave me the creeps (still does.) This place was _AWESOME._ The first floor was all the ticket games and rides. The second floor was a whole 'nother classic arcade! You essentially got two different arcades under one building. It was insane. And boy oh boy was I disappointed when I went to a different Chuck E. Cheese's. They were downright pitiful in comparison. This one had a great redemption area, too. They had a large display of every rainbow of flavor of candy canes. They were only 1 ticket if you got just one. So if you didn't have enough tickets for anything, you could always get a candy cane. They also had a really cool automated balloon machine. One of the few things there that took quarters instead of tokens. We had two rumors as kids: one was the classic "kid died in the ball pit," the other was that a kid died in Mr. Munch's under the animatronic area. I wonder if it had anything to do with the other rumor about a kid dying on the 3rd floor? All I know is that 7-year-old me was too scared to go into Mr. Munch's. This location used to have a sort of secret area. Just after the row of Bowlarama, they had a really narrow staircase; it was a tight fit to have more than one person through at the same time. At the top of the stares was a walled off eating area with two Portrait animatronics on either end, and a smattering of tables. My folks would make a b-line for this area because there was no foot traffic from anyone else, so it was nice and (relatively) quiet. You also got your own little show. The two characters would occasionally talk to each other, or serenade each other with songs. I think it was Pasquale and Helen, but I don't quite remember. In hindsight, I wonder if it was a private party area that just happened to not be used when we went there. When I went back there a few years ago, the secret staircase had been closed off. However, when I went there last year (I was morbidly curious to try out their new pizza) I was happy to see the staircase was back. It's a bit wider, and they took one of the walls down so it now joined up with the arcade.
@@cerinaduckie Oh, I forgot about the circle chair. :D That was next to the balloon machine. Seemed to go really high when you were a little kid. Nice to see someone who also went there. :)
I’m so glad they allowed you to edit and reupload the video! I saw the original and was so sad when you had to take it down. I’m always here as soon as you upload and appreciate your videos they make my day! Thank you for the dedication you put into the history and going to all the locations and stages before they gut the magic. Keep being you!
i grew up going to this chuck e. cheese because my elementary school hosted fundraisers here all the time. i'm so glad they decided not to close it after covid lockdown because i hope more kids will be able to experience these kinds of places while they're still around.
Fun Fact" the Franchisee that owns this location *ALSO* owned the location I grew up going to in Fairfield, CA. he closed Fairfield in January of 2021 to keep SJ open during the pandemic. Fairfield reopened in July of 2022 under corporate ownership after an independent filled the void.
There’s an obscure animatronic The concept was based on the Awesome Adventure Machine, a device that was used in showtapes from 1996-1997. The stage featured a single Chuck E. Cheese animatronic at center stage, with a large monitor on each side. The setup also utilized special showtapes that used different audio tracks to make use of the stage's unique features. The footage used in the showtapes made use of articulated costumes with animatronic mouths and eyes, which were introduced in the August 1996 show, which also introduced the AAM itself. From a technical standpoint, the show operated using laserdiscs, with sound provided by a Dolby integrated seven-channel surround sound system. The video monitors were rear-projection.[1] In late 1997 - early 1998, the Awesome Adventure Machine was replaced with a Studio C Alpha at Montfort Drive[2], and then they relocated with a Studio C Beta in 2001, the relocated location tested the Star Stage in 2010, and then was later replaced with a Circles of Light stage in 2012 and months later the animatronic was removed.
13:28 - The room you're entering now was the "Smoking Lounge." It was walled off from the rest of the place, and practically opaque with smoke in it. You could barely see the glow of a TV in there somewhere. As kids we would hang out next to the door. We thought it was so cool when the door opened, smoke would creep out like fog.
Yep, 3rd floor was haunted. My friend shared this with me while working there. This place is bigger than usual locations. Hope everyone gets to check it out at least once. Love their pizza and subway sandwiches.
Was that the two stage set of animatronics? I know the Chucky from that two stage was on display in the front of the store window for years and was actually at the store when it first opened with a balcony stage in in late 81 or early 82 I believe
I remember going there as a kid. I'm 40 now. I have pictures of my kids there now. Thanks for the video. Never knew the history. That carpet on the 3rd fllor is hella cool. 😎✌️
This is the only CEC that I've been to. I don't recall the last time I've been there (late 90's) but just remember b-day parties, elementary school field trips, the ball pit, and putting time on X-Men Arcade. Also, agree with the comment above about turning the third floor into a museum or at least offer tours. And if the manager is reading this, know that there is so much potential! And pls get that carpet cleaned!
If someone from the future had told the 7-year-old version of me in 1983 that in 2023 the animatrons would be replaced by cartoons on a screen, I'd have laughed so hard in their face. What a shame.
For whatever reason, this place's mystery ghost story intrigues me so much that I keep looking up new content about it at least once a year. I'm so glad someone finally showed some 3rd floor treasures! I would like to see a complete walkthrough of the 3rd floor but idk if that'd be possible. Great vid thanks for sharing!
I was just at this CEC two days ago. I took my friends twin kids for their 6th birthday. I have been going there since the 80's so this video brought back a lot of memories. Especially the old carpet and murals. Great video!
thanks for sharing this video. relieved that this iconic spot of ESSJ did not close during pandemic. Does anyone remember being able to go to the 3rd floor during a halloween event? this was in the 80's
I live in San Jose. I see this CEC all the time I go get my hair cut across the shopping center. You taught me more about this place then I could thought I ever learn about. Thank you.
I miss what this place used to be when I was a kid. Indoor playground and ball pits, animatronic band, etc. Yet, I still take my daughter here and she loves it!
I grew up in San Jose. I had one birthday at that Chuck E Cheese, either in 81, or 82. Some time around there. I actually remember when it was a toy store before that. And the 3 giant solders. I only remember going in it once before the toy store closed. It was pretty bare towards the end, but I do remember they had giant slides and swing sets outside the building. It's kinda sad to see the modern version of the place. Last time I went there, they still had that glorious carpet all throughout the building. The décor was very dark back then. Which I loved. It was like a lounge for kids. Mood lighting. wooden booths and seating. Dark walls and carpet. I remember how wonderful that animatronic stage was. And right in front, they had stool seating surrounding the whole stage that would go up and down like a ride, during the show. Then there were fun kiddie rides in the game area, and one thing I really loved was a tiny booth, like a photobooth you could sit in, and watch like a 1min cartoon clip, Woody Woodpecker, I believe. Like a tiny private movie theater for kids. I honestly think it was a much more magical feeling back then. I actually think today's kids would've gotten a kick out of seeing how things were rather than the whole light modern updates to the place. Oh well...time marches on.
I love animatronic related history! This is great, thanks for sharing! It makes me so happy seeing others so enthusiastic about the history of places like this.
I actually am good friends with the guy who owns the Dolli Dimples that used to be in this location. The tech who worked there held onto her for years and years after she was decommissioned. They really value their history at that location, it seems.
I appreciate your Blockbuster glasses!! A San Jose native here. I literally just came here this Thanksgiving weekend. Haven't between here in almost 9 years. They did a major makeover, but I miss a lot of things they changed. I'm so sad to hear that they'll get rid of the stairs!! The animatronics were still up last time I came here. They did shows, but the new screens cater to today's kids. There was more art work all over the place before: above the prizes & food kiosks, above the stairs... & now it's covered up. The old Chuck E. drawing looked better than the new one I think. The prizes when I was a kid included a lot of Chuck E. Cheese merch, which you don't see anymore. I personally liked the old golden tokens & paper tickets too. I think there used to be other things on display in the giant outside windows many years ago too.
I remember sitting down on a set of stools that would move up and down when the animatronic characters could perform. They had a series of them, too, with different characters. I also remember being able to jump into a large ball pit that they had. Thanks for unlocking these memories!
Glad to see the video back up. I don't think showing the token room and office is a really big deal, honestly. Either way, it's great that they let you repost it with some edits.
I grew up going to this location all the time. I was 5 in 1984 when this opened and every weekend I would beg my dad to take me here. I lived just on the other side of the freeway so it was very close to us. I didn't understand that this location was special and didn't understand why the other locations like Kooser Rd were so small. I spent so much time in the ball pit here. Also, sounds like you had a nice trip to San Jose. I'm glad you had a good time.
Here in DFW Texas, we had one of the first Chuck E Cheese. It was huge, about the size of a small Walmart. It was in a town called Euless. Not far from where I live now, is a Chuck E Cheese that used to be a Showbiz Pizza. Lots of memories.
You refer to the liquor store adjacent to that sleep train mattress one or near the gas station of CEC? I used to live down there in the Valley Palms apartments lol
I’m from San Jose and grew up going there and I can’t believe I grew seeing history and it still blows my mind about this place I definitely want to go and walk those stairs before they are gone
San Jose is nothing but history, I grew up during the evolution of San Jose especially during it's rise of becoming Silicon Valley...however I just know it as San Jose.....I remember when this Chuck E cheese finally opened
It's so fascinating to know how special the Northern CA Chuck e cheeses are. I use to go them as a kid. Now my local one will be the Waterpark next year! So excited to see at the state fair.
Grew up in SJ and went to this spot often. I remember the smell of cheese and sauce when you walked in, the front stage area was sunken and had walls around the area. Huge ball pit to your left and I would climb up the 2nd floor stairs to see the "secret room" which was a non operational King. The skee ball is pretty much in the same spot as it was and right next to it was the barbies on jet skis that you had to aim the water gun to win 😆 so many memories there from my childhood. Thanks for this video crazy to see what it looks like now and what things have remained the same.
Such a great video. I remember walking into my local Chuck E. Cheese as a child and seeing that same exact carpeting running throughout the entire place. So many great memories. Glad to see you had fun and had the chance to see what was up on that third floor.
This really shows how much the Chuck E. Cheese company actually cares of there rich history. Very neat. Not surprised that one day this location might turn into a CEC museum/pizzeria
I do remember the toy soldiers in the 101 facing side. Also, I did go to this Chuck E. Cheese when I turned 10 in August of 1985 I believe, it was awesome! After reading a comment that it opened in December of ‘81, I now think it was August of ‘82 that I went there for my birthday. Because I lived in the East Foothills when I was 10. And I distinctly remember living at the Capitol and Monterey house when I went for my birthday. Family moved the the McKee and Alum Rock Area in February of ‘83 when I was 7. Damn, if that is the case, that was 40 years ago, where did my youth go!
This was my childhood store!!! I've always wanted to know what was up on the 3rd floor when I was younger, IIRC the staircase was just out there in the open on the 2nd floor near Madam Oink was. I believe Studio C was removed in late 2018 - mid-2019? the last time I went was mid-2020 and they just got the circles of the light stage with no dance floor yet, weirdly it also looks like they took out the Chuck Cyberamic from the left display window at the entrance. I really wish I still lived in California so I could go back to this location! Despite this being a prime location, ironically I preferred going to the kooser location instead to see the entire band lmao
Mannn, I work at the Fairfield location that was rebought from corporate, and I hear stories of this place from guests all the time!! I reminisce on our locations old days, too. So glad to finally see what they’ve been hyped about!
As a child, I had a dream about this place where I visited the secret 3rd floor that was haunted with old arcade games. I never actually visited it, but I assumed it only had 2 floors but it seems my dream was kinda accurate.
I haven’t been there in a bit, but I live nearby and this was always my favorite place for birthdays (I’ve had 3 there). My mom always tells me how she was there the first day it opened and it was super popular, with people crowding every inch of the place. I would do anything to travel back in time to witness that.
it never occurred to me that the tully chuck e. cheese was so massive till watching this video. i grew up going to this chuck e. cheese it’s so cool to learn some history on one of my childhood places. also i have to confirm that i have heard a bunch of rumors on the third floor being haunted but i heard it was more then one child, i could be wrong.
I never been to any other Chuck E Cheese but this one off of Tully Road, I thought they were all made like this one ....but when I got older and moved out of the area the other ones I visited are quite small.....very small ...Makes me appreciate this one even more
Had many early birthdays here at this specific location. it wasn't until my teens that I found out there was more than one location haha E. The whole haunted thing is Def a local legend. My parents who are in their 70s remember hearing about the toy store being haunted, toys being rearranged and thrown on the ground at night etc. Glad you reviewed one of my childhood memories.
This was the chuck e cheese I grew up going to! It was like going to Disneyland whenever we came. I didn't know it was the biggest. All the other Chuck E. Cheeses I went to sucked and were tiny compared to this one so it all makes sense now :D All that upstairs carpet I remember was everywhere downstairs too. I remember The King, The Beagles, that Aretha Franklin-type one, and all the other animatronics, walking up those multi-section stairs, and playing and beating Outrun, T2: Judgment Day, X-Men, and Turtles in Time there. There was always this shady older boy that would sometimes wait at the token machine and whenever we went to exchange, he would offer $1.50 worth of tokens for my dollar instead of putting it in the machine. He must have had the hook-up somehow :P That whole open area with the tables used to be it's own big separate "room/hall" and you had to walk through black doors to go into and once you walked in and saw the stage with the whole gang in their own giant (for me at the time at least) Hollywood Squares-ish cubbies, it was a sight to behold. They would sometimes play WWF Superstars on the big screens on Saturdays for some reason too haha. The ball pits and obstacle course seemed to go through the whole Chuck E Cheese building and I would get lost in it it was so big. It's all gone now I see. Damn I miss it , I should go back one of these days when i'm back in San Jose...
Well You grew up and went to Chuck E Cheese when I did The Hound Dog Room only played Elvis Presley Songs, the Beagle Room only played Beatle Songs it actually was the Motown Room, and I forget it also had Puttin On The Hitz which played the top 40 songs etc....good memories
I grew up in San Jose, and I’ve been to this CEC a few times for field trips and such (there was a smaller one much closer to my home). Never knew it was the biggest.
This is so interesting! In South Jersey (Deptford to be exact) we still have the whole band animatronics! I don’t remember the names, but for anyone curious, I’ll describe them the best I can: • There’s a human man with a mustache and a chef hat on the drums. • A cowboy dog playing guitar • A purple monster thing playing the keyboard • A girl duck that sings And of course, the man himself, Chuck E Cheese. I go by it when I’m the in the area from time to time just to marvel at the fact that they’re still there. Pretty cool! EDIT: I think the purple monster’s name is munch? I’m not familiar with the names, sorry! EDIT 2: From what I can gather, it’s a variation of what is known as the “Road Stage”
Yeah the names aren’t easy to remember but im pretty sure the mustache guy is Pasquale, the dog is jasper, the purple guy is mr munch, and the duck is helen
Every child has had their first birthday there, and soon our grandchildren will experience that same experience, you got lucky cause the weekend is crazy busy
Driven by there a few times, never realized the whole building was CEC. Cool that it made it through the pandemic, probably helps the tully rd area itself is not as sought after real estate as the rest of the south bay for some reason, maybe just too south.
I was lucky to have been raised in San Jose Ca. I enjoyed the 92-94 and 2000 to present. I remember the plastic ball pits then then playground tunnels. They removed them due to them being so long and little kids would get lost and fire men had to get them out or they would puke inside
So awesome to see this having lived in San Jose all my life until recent years. ^^ I'd go there for years well into my teens. This CEC can't be topped. X3
i grew up accross the street of this CEC. There was a legend that the 3 floor was haunted and someone died falling from the stairs but now i know ! thanks for this
How easy was it to get a tour of this location? Does is cost? Just curious, because I live in Stockton, Ca, am a huge CEC fan, have been to this location too many times to count throughout my life (I’ve seen every phase/remodel) but now as an adult, I would love to know more about the location and the history
I got in thru a friend of a friend. So Id have to say there are no tours unless you can talk an employee into giving you one. They should make that a thing there!
I used to see this location everytime we would drive from seaside to Oakland, but never ever went to this location…..it’s been over 30 years…I’m 44 now……it’s awesome to see inside this location….great video
Just seeing that older carpeting it's nice to see that it was never replaced. Not to mention that mural of the ror. of course i grew up in the showbiz pizza era of the mid 80s to the early to mid 90s chuck e cheese pizza era.
Man I grew up growing here! Good times. For a little I lived in the apartments across the street and I would go every morning! This was before they started putting stamps on every kid.
I used to go there a lot when i was a kid late 90s early 00s with my family. Was so much fun! So many memories. Never knew i was privileged to be going to the largest one.❤❤
I have never been in this chuck e cheese but I growing up I would always pass by it obviously loving just seeing that there was a location this big. However I was always more interested in the creepy things that my dad would tell be about it from way back when he remembered it as the magic toy store. Even before I knew about creepy pastas and things like Five Nights at Freddy's blew up I found it funny how the uncanny animatronic characters had already lived in a location known to have a creepy history.
I’ve live in San Jose, my whole life, yet have only been to that Chuck E. Cheese once, I think in ‘92. My parents dreaded that place and always opted to take me to smaller mall Arcades back in the day. I miss 80’s/90’s SJ, every mall and strip mall had an arcade. Used to pump quarters into old school machines all day buy sadly those days are long gone 😢.
Being one of the biggest locations in the world and having the most animatronic characters at this location it was the stupidest thing they could have done if they were smart they would have kept the complete main stage of course with updates and kept at least one single animatronic meaning the King on the second floor to entertain the guest that it would be the biggest location with its original animatronics it would be the go-to location just based off of that
I don’t know if they still have it but in one of the windows displays they had a Chuck E. Cheese cyberamic The same ones you see on the 2 Stage Rd. stage etc. The only difference was it was the original Chuck from like the 80s but they put the rockstar outfit on him but I believe with the updates they were doing they took him out of the window😢
Is it sad that when he was explaining the history of that mural and Disneys involvement, I already imagined it was a C&D letter instead of something wholesome lol. Those pictures are so cool I'm glad they are being taken care of.
22 here, my dad recently moved to San Jose and I’ve been a big fan of CEC ever since I was a kid, so happy my dad took me here it was so much fun!!! Wish I got to see the animatronics but we still had a lot of fun playing games
Never expected for the largest Chuck E. Cheese to have no animatronics, insane how one of the most memorable attractions of the company is missing in the largest store.
At least the security guards don't need to worry about them at night, not to mention if they even have security guards at night.
You think they'd be able to afford all that if they had to maintain a fleet of animatronics?

Those are some awesome memories!
Omg the candy canes and automated balloon machine!!! I remember that! Lol and the ride that was just a chair that just went in circles 🤣
@@cerinaduckie Oh, I forgot about the circle chair. :D That was next to the balloon machine. Seemed to go really high when you were a little kid. Nice to see someone who also went there. :)
That's riiiiight!! Balloon machine!!! & I know what you mean about that narrow hallway!!!
Aw hun! I loved reading your story. What wonderful memories!
I’m so glad they allowed you to edit and reupload the video! I saw the original and was so sad when you had to take it down. I’m always here as soon as you upload and appreciate your videos they make my day! Thank you Becca, I appreciate that!

Why'd they make him change it?
@@bobbackward6461 seems like he had more footage of back room stuff that they didn’t want people to see, like stored animatronics and stuff

i grew up going to this chuck e. cheese because my elementary school hosted fundraisers here all the time. i'm so glad they decided not to close it after covid lockdown because i hope more kids will be able to experience these kinds of places while they're still around.
Yeah, especially the kids who play Freddy video games….
Same
There’s an obscure animatronic The concept was based on the Awesome Adventure Machine, a device that was used in showtapes from 1996-1997. The video monitors were rear-projection.[1]
In late 1997 - early 1998, the Awesome Adventure Machine was replaced with a Studio C Alpha at Montfort Drive[2], and then they relocated with a Studio C Beta in 2001, the relocated location tested the Star Stage in 2010, and then was later replaced with a Circles of Light stage in 2012 and months later the animatronic was removed.
The animatronics do get a little quirky at night…
I'm just amazed to see a Chuck E. Cheese with stairs!
loved them as a kid hate em now as a ol fart! xD
They used to have a full set of animatronics on the 3rd floor. I recall 10 years or so ago when they sold that set to collectors.
Was that the two stage set of animatronics? I know the Chucky from that two stage was on display in the front of the store window for years and was actually at the store when it first opened with a balcony stage in in late 81 or early 82 I believe
I wish they would do more with Tully Rd, it’s such a unique and exciting store. Not to mention it’s the last Cec in San Jose
I agree, it has so much potential.
Did they shut down the one on Kooser?
@@JimiJamma Yes, it closed last year.
I used to live down the block right there on Waverly road years ago in 02-05

I remember going there as a kid. I'm 40 now. I have pictures of my kids there now. Thanks for the video. Never knew the history. That carpet on the 3rd fllor is hella cool. 😎✌️
Your comment is hella cool San Jose friend
@@josephwhite838 thanks SJ408 homie! :)
The baaaaalllll piiiiiiitttttt!!!!
🌞 “HOOOO-HOOO-HOOOO!” **dives into ball pit, then pops out of it** “HEEEEELLLLLLOOOOO!”
Yeah, my tour guide mentioned that they used to do a haunted house up on the 3rd floor.
@@SetsStreetsEats That's awesome

My pleasure, thanks for watching!
I miss what this place used to be when I was a kid. Indoor playground and ball pits, animatronic band, etc. Yet, I still take my daughter here and she loves it!
This is my location
I used to have dreams about this place, like bad dreams. Even though it was always fun.
For real I go here for chuck e cheese
Omg you made it????? 😫😫😴
No @EsteBan I just saying that i go this Chuck E. Cheese’s, a lot of times
@@lucaleiva6021 lol I know I was just messing around haha
This is actually amazing! Wish we had more large CECS around the world

This is like the MegaPizzaPlex of our universe
I grew up going to this location all the time. I was 5 in 1984 when this opened and every weekend I would beg my dad to take me here. I lived just on the other side of the freeway so it was very close to us. I didn't understand that this location was special and didn't understand why the other locations like Kooser Rd were so small. I spent so much time in the ball pit here. Also, sounds like you had a nice trip to San Jose. I'm glad you had a good time.
Epic ball pit. Best I ever saw since then. Very fun the 80s were!
That place looks more than a pizzeria, it looks like a museum a little 😁
there's lots of history there was once a battle of breakdancing crews competition in there
Here in DFW Texas, we had one of the first Chuck E Cheese. It was huge, about the size of a small Walmart. It was in a town called Euless. Not far from where I live now, is a Chuck E Cheese that used to be a Showbiz Pizza. Lots of memories.
It gets down in that area, me and my friend witnessed the liquor store across the street from CEC get robbed right infront of us haha
Its incredible that they still have pizza time theater content safety secured on the 3rd floor. They should add that as a museum attraction. Lol
Glad to see you had fun and had the chance to see what was up on that third floor.
i didn't know this was the largest chuck e cheese, i used to go here when i was a kid and it's so nostalgic looking back
This really shows how much the Chuck E. Cheese company actually cares of there rich history. Very neat. Not surprised that one day this location might turn into a CEC museum/pizzeria
With all the stuff you talk about and all the stuff you wear this a full nostalgia trip I love these type of videos keep up the good work!
Thanks!
If only that mural had speedy Gonzalez, Jerry and Danger Mouse that would’ve been awesome
& hashimoto mouse -_-
I do remember the toy soldiers in the 101 facing side.
I ask myself the same question all the time lol
I LOVE the art style of the pizza time theatre murals
How old are you, the third floor used to be open it was the Broadway Room in the 80's when did it close.
I never been to any other Chuck E Cheese but this one off of Tully Road, I thought they were all made like this one ....but when I got older and moved out of the area the other ones I visited are quite small.....very small ...Makes me appreciate this one even more
They should do small concerts there that would be so sick
WHAT THE FUCKS UP DENNYS
Had many early birthdays here at this specific location. it wasn't until my teens that I found out there was more than one location haha
Those are awesome memories!
I don’t remember the names, but for anyone curious, I’ll describe them the best I can:
• There’s a human man with a mustache and a chef hat on the drums.
• A cowboy dog playing guitar
• A purple monster thing playing the keyboard
• A girl duck that sings
And of course, the man himself, Chuck E Cheese.
Chef guy is Pasqually
Cowboy dog is Jasper T. Jowls
Purple monster is Mr. Munch
"Girl duck" (she's actually a chicken/hen) is Helen Henny
Deptford had a 1-Stage, and they are 2.0 now (they did have a Road Stage before the 1-Stage though.)
Great vid :) loved the 3rd floor sneak peak
I regret not visiting this location during my childhood in the 90s. Would've been nice to see a lot of animatronics.😊 Chuck E Cheese forever!!🍕🐀🧢🎸🎶🎶

I hate how CEC is treating it like a regular store when it's 2 stories and special but thats how company's ares
They should bring back all the old animatronic characters too! (Like Harmony Howlette)
& all the old arcade/pinball games
Thank you for uploading this video! I’m from San Jose and it was very nostalgic to watch.
I still think it was stupid to get rid of the animatronics entirely.
Being one of the biggest locations in the world and having the most animatronic characters at this location it was the stupidest thing they could have done if they were smart they would have kept the complete main stage of course with updates and kept at least one single animatronic meaning the King on the second floor to entertain the guest that it would be the biggest location with its original animatronics it would be the go-to location just based off of that
They should bring them back and make them be able to walk around, lol.
Dang those were some neat drone shots🔥
I don’t know if they still have it but in one of the windows displays they had a Chuck E. Cheese cyberamic The same ones you see on the 2 Stage Rd. stage etc. The only difference was it was the original Chuck from like the 80s but they put the rockstar outfit on him but I believe with the updates they were doing they took him out of the window😢
Yeah they ended up selling him.
Yes that cyberamic Chuck was part of the balcony stage and opened with the location it's a shame he got sold to a collector
Is it sad that when he was explaining the history of that mural and Disneys involvement, I already imagined it was a C&D letter instead of something wholesome lol. Those pictures are so cool I'm glad they are being taken care of.
