This week on our Hero Quest Rise of the Dread Moon painting tutorial series we're taking a look at another Elven mercenary, the Arbalist. Are they just a fancier version of the crossbowman? Maybe. But they sure look good doing it! A splash of colour in the card art for this one means we can vibrant some of it up to make this guy really stand out amongst the trees!

I actually think this is one of the more interesting minis - I really like the surface contrast between the cloak and belt and chain male. Its a very inspiring sculpt and you did a great job painting it!

Thanks! I actually thought I'd have a tougher time with this one planning and blocking it out, but once I got going it all fell into place exactly for the reasons you said. In practice it's less busy than first impressions!

Yes haha, when it came to the elves from mage of the mirror. With these one offs I'm trying to stay to the card art for now, but that's an awesome suggestion to put out there!
