I'm a Pompey fan but a real shame that West Ham United left the Boleyn Ground and the iconic towers. I believe even now at the 2012 Olympic Stadium the Hammers fans are still trying to replicate the old Upton Park atmosphere (the pitch is too far away from the stands).
If there's a sequel to this, Arsenal have to be included again: before Arsenal moved to Highbury in 1913, they were based in Plumstead in SE London (they never played in Woolwich despite using Woolwich in their name from 1891 to 1913). The Manor Ground was the primary ground they used, and featured the world's very first football ground Kop (Woolwich Arsenal were a de facto works team of the Royal Ordnance Factory,.at least until the club turned professional in 1891 - but the strong military connections continued, with a significant chunk of their fanbase having served in the Boer War, and in particular the Battle of Spion Kop, a steep hill that the steep terraces sometimes resembled). The Kop at the Manor Ground was built in 1904 and predates Liverpool's by two years. However, the Manor Ground was burnt down by the Suffragettes not long after Arsenal had moved to North London, and the stadium no longer exists.
Couple ideas here, top 10 best teams to finish second (can't pick liverpool) 10 best teams to get relegated, 10 worst youth player deals (see united losing pogba for free, signing him for 90 mill then losing him for free again)
Where's Maine Road? Hosted numorous FA Cup Semi-finals, league cup final replay. The rags played tbeir first European games there, because they had no floodlights at the swamp, and on top of that, it still holds a host of attendance records outside of Wembley that still stands today, including overall record attendance, record league attendance and record attendance under floodlights.
Gay Meadow (Shrewsbury FC) is now a housing estate, yes the grouond had its issues, lots to be fair but it was bang central in town, bit embarassing when they were sponsored by the Local BIG Company Morris Lubricants though.........
