L. G you are definitely a great teacher (botany) with patience of a Saint, taking time to cover all aspects, with attention to minut aspects and with a simplistic explanation that everyone can understand. Thank you Sir. 👌🌹
Awesome 😎 and easy to understand video for succulent lovers.i got some sedum cuttings yesterday and now i can plant them easily after your videos. I have watched other videos also but they say you must add this and that. Like cinder pumice perlite which is not available in my area. For fertilizer can i give balanced npk seaweed liquid fertilizer. Saaf fungicide for roots or not. Or can you suggest the fertilizer
cinder is good option but only for people from very dry environment ...that is a mix of cinder and leaf mould ...because if your from high humid environment it can be an issue because cinder retain moisture ...and then when you add leaf mould it will become even more moisture retaining so for people from very dry climate like delhi and all its ok cinder is ok
yes they are good i use them for some succulents…but ensure they are not big …I use smaller than 4 inch pots of thermoform …mainly for medium size succulent.. but the best pots in my opinion are terracotta or earthen pots are best anytime
I will share the link of another video it’s much clear ….so I make bulk mix ….I would say 80 percent aquarium sand and 20 percent filtered garden soil ua-cam.com/video/HYqGDfHhD2g/v-deo.html
always keep the sand content two times more than the garden soil …you can make any amount but always remember the sand has to be more than the garden soil 😊🪴
you can check for other sand or aquarium substrate as long as it is the size of sugar granules it’s good or if your in India you can check this …now m not sure how the sand is but you can check the reviews…it looks good the sand pictures are also there in the review section check and then decide if you wanna go for it 😊🪴 amzn.to/3vSlq7T
Is it correct that during repotting the soil being closely held by the succulent roots shudnt be stripped completely from it just to help it deal with the drastic change?
not really… now I usually buy succulents online so there is hardly any soil so I repot them directly I usually don’t need to clean the root 99 % …..but yea if you buy potted succulents from nursery it’s better to clean as there could be lot of cocopeat attached….but don’t water the soil immediately 😊
oh that’s great to hear.....the demand for succulents is huge .....here the market is still establishing cause people just starting to Learn about them.....so succulents are quite well known now compared to few years back.
Its really helpful...n yes perlite is bit costly and also float to the top...then y to waste money...if I dont get aquarium sand then can I use construction sand?
vandana D yes mam if it floats and all the perlite comes to the surface no point plus when there is strong winds it will fly off from the pot...... u can use construction sand provided u need to filter it .... u must not use very fine sand coz again it will bind Together when u water and might get compact...... so if ur using construction sand u need to strain and collect larger granules but unfortunately u will receive very less material coz most of the construction sand is very fine .....
@@LushGardener thank u so much...is ur soil mix is good for all succulent type plants...coz few days back I have lost my wax ivy completely...may b due to summer or may b coz it was in its nursery pot with clay kind of soil...but it was doing fine since last six months...suddenly started wilting from tops....I have two stems left...can I save it?
vandana D yes this is a basic soil mix for all succulents..... it always advisable to chnge the soil once u get succulents from nursery cause most of the time they tend to use cocopeat which is ideally not good for adult succulents
It’s not compulsory but incase u wanna use .... use 3 teaspoon sprinkle over the soil but it will best if you use it on succulents that are either entering their growing period or are currently in their growing period for example it’s summer so Echeveria are in their growing period 😊 My next video will be on fertiliser stay tuned 😊
Anil Sharma yes sir provided u take care ....u need to place the pot in a cool shaded area try to maintain a cool environment some how for them..... how ever most succulent can’t survive in high temperature to be honest .... especially hybrid succulent 😞
@@LushGardener in fact that's what I was about to request you to make a video on summer care tips. I loose my most succulents during this harsh summer season 😥

Very informative video.. Thanks for sharing with us... Can you please suggest some heardy sacculents that can servive in hot summer... Actually I m from Delhi and last month lost all of my sacculents due to hot summer
Mam even hardy succulents will find it difficult to survive in harsh summer ....u will have to make certain arrangements for them during summers like using green net keeping the surrounding cooler or if u receive bright indirect sunlight indoor u can pla.ce then inside the house during summer or mam last option if u don’t receive bright light then u will have to use grow light and keep succulents indoor for summer ......coz it will be difficult for any succulent to tolerate that much heat
