2024 Range Rover Velar P400 Review: Still one of the most desirable SUVs

- The Range Rover Velar has emerged from its midlife facelift with a slightly smoother shape, a superior electric range in the plug-in hybrid model, and a much improved infotainment system.
In this CarGurus UK review, Vicky Parrott gets behind the wheel of the P400 plug-in hybrid version of the Velar, which uses a 19.2kWh lithium-ion battery to give an official range of 40 miles on electric power, up from 33 miles in the pre-facelift model.
The P400's 141bhp electric motor is paired with a 296bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine to give all-wheel drive capability, plus a 0-62mph time of just 5.4 seconds. Beware, however, that once the battery has depleted, the petrol engine will only return around 30-32mpg in normal driving. Along with the additional cost of the plug-in hybrid model, this might make you consider a standard petrol or diesel engine for your Velar instead.
No matter what version of the Velar you choose, you'll be buying a very impressive interior, both in terms of the quality and design on offer. Not only that, but the Velar's technology has come on in strides, largely thanks to it using the infotainment system from the latest Range Rover, which is one of the best systems on the market.
Find out more about the Velar, including what it's like to drive, in this CarGurus UK review.

Desirable for the people who like to acquire these in the middle of the night.
Thanks for the nice review 👍🏻 Although the title is a bit misleading as you are reviewing the plug-in version and this is called P400e, isn't it? The P400 is the 6 cylinder petrol engine which has a mild hybrid but no plug-in.
Misleading or someone has just forgotten to hit the e button on the keyboard?
Vicky is great 👍
Car. No. 👎
But, but, but Vicky likes the car? 😢
How much is it? 100k? Huge waste of money, and apparently 90 Range Rovers are now being stolen in London per day. Doesn't say much for security in my view.
£55-77k (+options?), from the video
That's because they are so high value, criminals have invested a lot of time and effort into stealing them. They're no more easy to steal than any other car, they are just making the news because they are so high profile.
Years ago Rottweilers were such a dangerous dog that people wanted them banned. Only because people were drawing so much attention to them. Now it's all Bully XLs.
You’re not supposed to drive with your elbow on the handle on the door card. Good review and nice upgrade. Is the hybrid worth it?
Why the hell not?
Little Malc your mummy told you not to talk absolute bollocks
I do all the time.
Where tf is Rebecca😭
Rebecca is dead 😭😭😭
@@kevinguillem9007Yet is alive and well 🙄
Where is Rebecca?????
IT IS CRAP. Anyone taking that thing through a 2 foot deep water crossing is risking their lives. That front plastic cosmetic bumper is begging to be shredded on the first gravel road. It has the height clearance of a Tesco shopping trolley.
It might suit some tosser wanting an urban shopping cart, who risks the wilds of the local train station car park, but as a "SUV"it's criminally under whelming.
At least it will be stolen long before you need to worry about recharging the bloody thing. Though you wont like the insurance premium, or the excess, costing you the vital organs of your youngest offspring.
BMW or Toyota need to buy out JLR and they will then sell out, until then no way pedro 😂
Lol BMW?
BMW has already tried, remember they used to own Rover cars, land rover, before they passed the 'hot potato' over to Tata.qiality!!!
I turned off as soon as I heard ' plug-in hybrid' 😂
@@snoopy-XV208 No thx!

Still one of the most UNRELIABLE SUVs
Old news.
Can't insure it, too expensive, can't keep it, it'll get nicked, can't drive it, it'll break down, just set fire to 60K
