You should have have first cleaned & flushed the alarm line only. If you couldn't get water to flow through to the alarm pressure switch then and only then should you have replaced the lines. That amount of debris built up plugging the alarm line is evidence of not proper annual servicing.
You’re full of shit. I literally just replaced this exact valve last week from 1982 and we had the same exact problem. There’s 14 of these valves in this building and this was the first one to shit the bed. I’ve personally tripped these valves annually for the past 7 years since our other guy retired and I know what I do to these valves every year. You must be from an area where you have natural spring water as your water supply lol.
