What I would do after that would be to weld the axle to a 1 hp electric motors crankshaft, and have a variable resistor between the motor and the power supply to control how many hits per second.
what are doing!? First the spring is on the right with one, then there's 2 on the same side, then in the end its wrapped around why don't you explain a little more like maybe one didn't work so you tried this then this and finally that, your tutorial is vague to say the least. But good idea
WRONG your direction of turn is wrong , if you turn it that way your already lowering the arm before it finally drops , you need it to drop from the high point not the low point , the shaft should have come out the other side or just use the drill in reverse , also you put the springs on the wrong side of the hammer forcing it to one side to much .
