Finally. A programming video that works. Nicely done. I bought my CPO from a dealer without the second key. They finally received it and I scheduled a visit to have the new plates attached. They didn’t program it for me, which I found surprising. Thanks. It worked just as you aptly demonstrated.

Thanks for showed clearly and correctly how to program a new key fob. I watched several video clips but I couldn’t do it until I watched yours. I saved money and a trip to a dealer for it.

Worked on 1st try. Thanks for your clear and well-presented instructions. One note that may help others who are about to attempt this - the (already programmed) key can and should be about 6-8' away.

Took about 10 tries to position the new fob before it worked as it wasn't the same position my other fob required. As someone who's been having to place his broken fob against the column to start the car for a few months, I can tell you it's VERY temperamental, so keep at it.
Worked on my G30. Went 1st to the BMW dealer, but they couldnt do a quick look/fix, planned a date in may 2024 for a diagnosis. Off course they would bill me for that. BUT thx KIES for this video, saves me time and money! screw the dealer....

I’m a bit confused, if it’s after market key it will not start the car with out programming , it needs to be programmed FEM module need to come out and bench programming. I think this key must come from Dealer , please correct me if im wrong. Thanks

It worked but I have to do that every time to start the car
Mine is the original second key fob, but the previous owner never used it. Since i got the car it didn't work. I changed the battery. Then the car recognised the key and was able to start it. But I still can't lock or unlock the car. ?
Will it work on the another tipes of keys? For example G20 key. Can I program this key dor my F30?

People with F80 M3 M3Comp CS, automatic or manual just need to place the key perpendicular to the making on the steering column, press and hold the start button for 5 seconds (NO NEED TO PRESS AND HOLD THE BRAKES OR CLUTCH IN)
Might take a few tries.
Make sure key fob battery is good.

The problem is that I bought the car at an auction, and it arrived without a key, now I want to buy one because I don't have a key and I don't know what type of frequency I should buy, 315MHz or 434MHZ or does that not matter? I don't have the original key, I can't see the frequency that's why I was asking you, please help.

This method worked to start the vehicle with the new key, but unfortunately the buttons on the key fob do not work to unlock and lock the vehicle :( ... I tried doing this exact method 5 times, with the previously working key nowhere in sight. I have also replaced the battery on the new key fob. Any idea why this might be happening?

Thanks Brian! Recently bought a slightly used 15 M235i but only had 1 key. Dealership was nice emough to order and send me a new key for free but not programmed. Although my csr has the Comfort Access mode your video helped save me a 90 mile r/t drive even though they would have done it for free. I just kept the original key about 8 feet away and it worked. Thanks again....liked n sub'd!!

@@pvnbg just open your car don’t try to start it with your old key move ( open it with you old key ) your old key away then get your new key and follow the instructions foot on brake push button and hold new key to where arrows are wait for everything’s turn off then start the car
This ONLY works if you have ordered a factory programmed key from a BMW dealer which is programmed in the BMW factory to the VIN for that specific car. All's you are showing is the syncing process for a factory programmed key! This is not a blank key. If it was that easy locksmiths like me would not have to spend thousands on expensive programming hardware and software to make these keys. Just another point, BMW dealers cannot program or match BLANK keys to your car. Only specialist locksmiths like us have the ability to do that. A dealer will simply order your key from the factory already programmed and sync it usingvour method shown. If you buy blank keys you will be wasting your money as you will not be able to program them.

Why do so many used BMWs come with only 1 key? How do they disappear?
I try with another bmw key already programmed to the other car! And I was unable to program it to my car, I guess it has to be a brand new key.
How do I figure out the frequency of the fob?
I've been seeing there's numbers in the 300 range, 400 range and 800 range

I have tried numerous tricks to get my fob to function after the battery was replaced. Doors open/lock but only way to start is to hold key to steering column. Starts fine but doesn’t hold configuration. What am I missing?

When i try this the car starts because i have my original key. The one thr came with the car. So how can you hold the start button and the car not start before you finish the procedure to program the new fob ?
This just saved me $120. $60 per key fob at the shop.

Can you cut the key portion for my vin I lost the original key bought a locked or created key fob and got it programmed by professional but my key portion needs to be cut In case my car battery dies!!

No, used key need to be unlocked, then programmed to Your car.

I bought an 2011 x3 f25 35i bmw a former usa car. I bought this car last oktober in Germany and imported it to the netherlands there were 2 key’s with it. With one i can open and start the car but it Will not act on its memory with the Seats and everything. The second key Will do Notting only open the drivers side door and that’s it. I changed to times the batteries of both keys but notting helps. The local dealer says this is happening when you by a usa import car?????? You must by 2 new key’s and let me program it, i doubt that. Also the ribbons in the door handle on the drivers site for closing is not functioning well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it’s not. . Can you help me out, whitout sending me to the dealer
