- Segmented turning is an art unto itself. Endless design possibilities exist. Not having access to expensive table saws, I modified a great idea to adapt to my band saw. When constructed carefully, Jerry Bennet's Wedgie Sled fits the bill. Learn more about his sled concept here:

NOTE: The sled in my video has been "scaled down" to 8"x10"
to use on my 14" band saw. Other than that, no modifications were made to the design. I get great results cutting my segments using this sled.

Pretty cool thanks for posting. I have also had good results using a sled with a single fence like Jerry's design with my band saw.
TY. I have since made a good stop using a threaded rod. Excellent results.
I am using the Rockler Disc Sander Angle Jig on my 14 “ rikon with fantastic results.

I dont know of any, these are easy to make.
D ont forget to use a soft stop to get all the segments the same length
Fantastic jig, I have a 10" Delta Homecraft Bandsaw ( 1953 imported from the US One piece at a time) and it has no mitre slot, would it be OK to use the front of the table ??

How do I know how far from the band saw blade I should place my stop block?
It depends on the overall O.D. you are going for with your ring. The larger the diameter the longer the length of your segment. Here is one good online calculator....www.woodturnersresource.com/extras/projects/segmentcalc/index.html

Great video. I also have a 14 inches bandsaw. What are the dimensions of yours
14" with a 16" square table. Take a test cut with a 1' or longer piece of scrap to ensure the slot is dead nuts parallel to the blade

Like the video! ... and the narration...my mitre fence is waaay cheap shitter than your shit fence... it has slop at the start and jams just past the blade lol. I’ve made a jig, will be posting results on my YT soon lol. Cheers man!!

I couldn’t watch it either, not for the language but because he don’t know how to tighten up a his miter in the slot. Probably not going to learn much from him. Lol.
First, not watching a video because of language is just racist. I often watch a video not understanding a word the person says.
Second, he started right st the beginning he's not a woodworker and made due with what he has. It's a learning experience for him, and he'll learn the adjusting screws for the miter slot are on the wrong side. Try doing metal work with tools you have on hand
