I finally finished my EA Sports WRC review. Headphones on, crank up the detail to 4K and (hopefully) enjoy. And, yes, EA had not yet acquired DICE when RalliSport Challenge was made though the talent was largely absorbed. Forgive my senile moment!
I'm sorry. The graphics are not great. I'm playing on a series X and the graphics compared to WRC of the previous developer are not even close. I can't comment on the PC version but the textures are flat, no detail. I tried to play the free trial and was just in shocked how terrible the graphics were. Un-installed immediately.Code masters can do much better and have via Grid Legends, Dirt 2.0 even Dirt 5 is miles ahead graphically. I'm not talking about gameplay just graphics on the series x. It is terrible compared to other Rally games and especially the previous developer Kylotonn games.
Playing on PS5 and overall pretty good . Screen tearing and stutters are mostly gone after update . Agree with your description of the handling on tarmac , feels like you are on rails until suddenly you are facing the wrong way ! Lack of feedback through the gamepad triggers is disappointing though , compared to gt7 there's no brake feel at all .
Great review! I've logged about 15 hours so far. Yes it has it's issues but mostly with the graphical side of things in my opinion, the stuttering was fixed for me after the latest update. I enjoy driving WRC with a controller more than I did DR2.0, I feel more in charge of the car, it does what I want it to do when I want it to. In DR2.0 I'm too scared to push because I never actually felt like I had any control of the car. The stages are also great in WRC, although sometimes a bit too bright or the road textures too bland I love to drive them. Like I saw someone else mentioning in the comments, bumper view gets me around 120fps but any other view will give me 60/80fps. All in all I very much like the game, it will only get better in the upcoming months.
I’ve played every game since Colin McRae. People need to stop whinging. People are never happy these days. Yeah small issues which will get fixed with updates but the core game is great.
@Sh1ft3r1you know this is an Ada one statement! I’m playing on a 80” 8k UHD, Samsung, on PS5! It’s looks Fantastic! I get it ppl see what they see, but this makes no sense, unless your on PC, with Potato settings! Biggest problem is the save issues for me! Keeps deleting my settings! But all they keep fixing is Graphic BS!!!! It looks FINE, it saves POORLY!!!
Performance was awful on PC at launch with poor graphical fidelity relative to the card needed to run the game, or even run smoothly. No triple screens, no UDP (at launch), still no UDP on consoles. Stages look relatively characterless. FFB and handling are improved though, and it does sound good. I think people are right to be angry. The game looks worse and has features missing that even EA’s own F1 franchise has. I think devs should be held to account, and this idea that games can be finished post launch needs to go away. It’s not ok for anyone to spend their money on an unfinished product. If you bought a microwave, but was told the door and timer would be delivered a few months later, you would not be happy. Why is this approach ok with games? It’s not.
@Sh1ft3r1PS5 and Oled User here. A lie is, that it has ps3 graphics. It's not the prettiest game ever, and some things in DR2 looked better, especially the road. So it's not the peak of next gen graphics but it still looks good, some scenarios are beautiful.Set your Brightness around 30 and it looks fine.
Its not a simulation, I dont remember them saying we are simulating the internal system of the car to the fullest we can, but they want to just signal towards it being a sim to get your money. Once you tune the car in this game.. it drives itself. They obviously have some hidden braking and turning/weight transfer assist going on that kill all the fun if you drive it hard. Everything is pre-baked so how can it be a sim? The game is like bowling with bumpers once you tune out all the weird stuff the car is doing.
Lets consider that there is an acheivement in dirt rally 2.0 for tuning your car and saving the tuning.. 7 percent of players have this acheivement 😢 so codemasters is right to assume no one cares or cares to know any better, and that they should make these games as accomodating as possible for casual racing fans and kids.
Totally agree about most players not caring enough to tune! Game design is more than just realism. In fact, for racing games I'd say not being entirely true to life is a blessing. You'll never get it completely right so why not ensure involvement and fun? Codemasters did, however, mention a focus on realism in later chats and press materials but I avoided going too much into it as what counts is largely natural.
Funny to read when another guy says he drives something like Rally in real life and praises the handling model as being very realistic. I hate that so many idiots like sports and racing, because of that you quickly get opposite, mostly dumb opinions about stuff which as an outsider can't be judged.
You know what I reinstalled the game and guess what it seems to look a lot better than before. I will actually purchase it esp3cially while it is on sale for $19.99. I do like the long rally stages. That was a blast on the trial. Your video made me give it another try. Thanks for the excellent content!
Just got the MOZA R9 and tried this game on my 4090 with 5120x1440 monitor, with Reddit suggested FFB settings. I don’t know how it got bad reviews but to me it is the closest experience to driving a real car, rally or not.
Sometimes it's cool to hate a game and some people do not think for themselves. It was the same with Cyberpunk. Glad you are enjoying it! To be fair, there have been a fair few patches and updates since my video so the game has improved in many areas.
Funnily enough, I was introduced to your channel when I started playing Snowrunner. While you’re reviewing this game, I can’t seem to shake that out of my mind. I keep thinking you’ll say something about the Tayga King, or something along those lines :) I love your diversity; only I just can’t seem to detach you from Snowrunner. Still, I’m glad you’re reviewing this, as I trust your judgment! Nice work man!
I've been typecast or whatever it's called! Definitely the most successful part of the channel so I get it. It's just great when people give my other content a chance. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Happy trucking!
@@ATribeCalledCars for sure, but to be honest, I went through 100's of hours of Snowrunner, and subscribed to you through that, so it's mostly my fault too. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you review something other than SR - you did absolutely fantastic, so thank you too! Great job dude. P.S. I think I've overdone SR - I uninstalled it the other day :)
Rallysimfans mod for rbr is getting better every day. It has over 300 stages (im pretty sure it's closer to 500), and like 100 cars. You can write your own pace notes and there are quite a few codriver mods
Sounds cool, I should really make a video about it. But I also know many people want to jump in, drive and not think beyond that. Which is fair enough!
Have we played the same game? There is a huuuge difference on handling between fresh and worn tires and between soft, medium, and hard. Worn soft tires are unplayable on tarmac. 4WD cars feel like they could send you out of the road immediately if you give it a little too much throttle. Lateral grip is also greatly affected, as you have to take every turn much slower to make it out of safely. The cars has way less grip (affects all classes, even H1 FWD). There is this stupid quirk that you have to press confirm button after you change tires. Oh boy, how many times have I forgotten to do this in career. Driving 5 stages on one set of soft tires is not an easy nor pleasent task.Try it for yourself and you will certainly feel the difference. When it comes to soft, medium, and hard - lateral grip is reduced the harder the tire is. I feel the difference easily. Playing on T300RS
Perhaps not. It's so odd that you can finish a rally with a flat tyre at a similar pace. Only when it comes off the rim do you have to brake a lot. Maybe the latest update has improved things as I felt little difference in tyre degradation versus supposed damage level.
I have a PS5 copy of this on its way to me, was on sale for $29.99 at Target, took advantage of a circle coupon for an extra 20% off so I am getting this for $23.99 instead. I figure 24 bucks for several hours of gameplay that looks to be fun, even if I'm not a fan of EA Sports titles, is something I'll gladly check out.
Instead of you Feeling, the RWD car physics especially on gravel is where WRC 23 really shines!!! These Gravel RWD physics are best physics on any Rallye SIM out there - including RBR !! I tested in the last 20 years every, really every Rallye sim/game which comes out on PC. I am fully addicted in driving H2, H3, Group B RWD cars on gravel in WRC23. It is the most immersive and most realistic way to have an virtual Rallye experience you could have so far!!! But you need time to work yourself in into these brilliant RWD physics!! But then, with every single mile, the sim grows up to an unbelievable fun and challenging simulation!! 95% of my 80hours of driving in WRC 23 I go with the RWDs on gravel and have tons of fun and an unbelievable satisfaction!!!
It's actually around $30.00 US at Target and you get a 20% discount coupon if you're a Target Circle member. So yes, it should be $24.00 US after. Go get it.
And you are right, the tarmac physics need a lot of improvement!! They comes from the butter glitchy DR2.0 tarmac to the super grippy raillike tarmac in WRC 23. Not to say it is no fun to drive on tarmac, but the gravel physics, especially the RWD cars ones, are in an completely other dimension of realism…
To find some great clubs an do there long Rallyes over 12 or more stages with hardcore damage (the bug that the cars are fine and fully repaired after rejoining has to be fixed very soon!!!), full stage degradation through rainy nights is where I am instantly beginn to be fully addicted to this great sim👍👍👍!! An Abo for you and your great work to create this fine review and to see more stuff from WRC 23 from you!
I am looking forward to playing EA WRC just found it in the steam sale. Put hours into the previous WRC games and loved both Dirt rally games 😀 Dirt 4 was a bit rubbish though.
Apart from the ps5 screen tearing(which I hope they patch that soon) I haven’t noticed anything else. I have been enjoying this game ever since I bought it a week ago. No crashes or bugs so far either. I do wish the graphics were better though. And for those comparing graphics to DR 2.0, I actually believe the original DR had the best graphics out of the two. Engine sounds are bang on, one reason I couldn’t play the Kylotonn games was purely because the engine sounds were super annoying and sounding like vacuums. Co driver’s voice and accent could’ve been a bit better too, I sometimes can’t understand what he’s saying.
I'm totally new to gaming and just got this. There seems to be a lot to do with regards to managing a team and building cars etc. Best way to learn that stuff?
I have found that I get a 75-100fps increase when I use bumper cam. 150-200+ fps @ 1440p. DLSS quality. All details high as they will go. Switching to ANY other camera is am immediate 75-100fps loss. That is the case on EVERY map except Monte Carlo. That map runs like ass. 40-60fps on bumper cam. Under 30 on other cams. 13900kf/4090/32gb ddr5 6200/990pro m.2
Nice setup! It's lucky I favour the bonnet cam though it's nice to go for the interior when using a steering wheel. I did notice DLSS works pretty well in this game so definitely worth a mention too.
Just came across your channel while looking for ffb tips for wrc. Do you have an upload about ffb within wrc or planning too for the future? I have a sim racing aluminium setup (moza r9 gs / cs wheels) mainly used for iracing, but I just can't seem to get that sweet spot on wrc.
At the current state of the game for me is not enjoyable. Lots of performance issues. Some stages look awfull. Dont know what poss processing are they using, like color grading, etc. And tarmac physics seams a little broken. When you try do do an airpin the car starts to slide and them sudently gains grip. Until they fix this and some more bugs i just cant find any joy on playing this game. Mabe my expectations were too hight.
The handbrake on tarmac grip thing isn't the best, in Generations the slide is more progressive. And yeah a few stages are so nice looking even with a good PC! Onwards and upwards with updates hopefully.
@@ATribeCalledCars Handbrake on tarmac is brilliant, what do you mean? you need to have good throttle management and know how to slide a 4WD car on tarmac... or your tuning is off... but I've had a great time using my handbrake on tarmac hairpins with very controllable and realistic slide/drift... on Generations the handbrake was completely broken... the moment you used it the car would go nuts... you had to touch for 0.1 seconds at most or you would go in a spin... that's NOT how a handbrake works...
I've had this game just over a week and it was love at 1st hairpin just a fantastic race simulator however I only had control pad and I couldn't get a good time good enough but it's very tricky with controller so I bought the logistics race wheel now I'm really putting in the time I want super realistic
And the game cost practically nothing lol 17.99 I spend more putting fuel in my own cars or bikes than this game cost , and I'm not risking my life or my cars and bikes , you need to buy this if you haven't already, definitely get the wheel with peddles and shifter , it's almost like real life bravo ea 👏
Don't think I ever over overstreered in DR2, I thought it was great. Don't know about this game, but another engine sounds like a terrible idea. Edit: No rallycross another one. Guess I'll stick to the old one. Don't know what "difficult in another way" mean, but that's usually another word for easy.
No, it's that with DR2 it was more of the perception of difficulty being realism. In this you're battling less with the physics and that puts the difficulty more on those tougher stages.
The fact they don’t tell you surface degradation only applies to quick play/Championships! Also have to set a dead zone for Rally 1 Battery to kick in! Maybe not everyone needs to do this, but there where a few of us looking at why we couldn’t recharge the battery! Great review, as always..
@@ATribeCalledCars it’s with the gas having to be completely off, and brake completely off/on! It reads the Barest of touches, and my Brand New V3, where my load pedal was a bit off I guess, wasn’t completely disconnecting, not allowing the energy to rebuild. I thought it was a bug! lol found a YT video showing applying 1 point of dead zone, allowed it to work properly! Fixed it! Thanks for all the replies! Keep up the hard work!
Surface degradation is active in Career mode. It depends on the running order. The later you start the more surface degradation you will see. It is also active for clubs as well, so all areas used it really.
@@iamzeusandthisisthetruth4229 Time Trial needs to be fair and consistent for all... running without degradation while others run with it is not a fair level of play... so it's natural that degradation exists for all other modes except Time Trials
See set up of the car needs to be adjusted if u know what you are doing for example hard and low ride height for tarmac.gravel medium height medium hardness for suspension snow low and sort suspension ice high height hard suspension the is good if u can drive get up top gear and try and stay there I love the game realistic as it gets
I was worried about the stupid excessive oversteer in powerful 4wd and rwd, impossible to control with the keyboard, where Kylotonns WRC 10 and other version worked excellent on keyboard. Dirt 2.0 was screwed because of this.
That’s painful for you as it would be painful for me to drive with an Keyboard in any racing game. But the point is that WRC 23 is a simulation, far more simulation than WRC Generations and also more than DR 2.0, if you give yourself the time to go deep into the physics of WRC 23, especially on gravel, which is clearly not possible with a keyboard. Go and bye an cheap old second hand FFB Wheel and you would have tons of fun and a deep satisfying enjoyment 👍👌!!
pretty big favor to ask to codemasters but I just wanted them to stick to the ego engine. first of all, it looks amazing (GRID Legends is a good example), its very well optimized, and from my experience, is bug free. While UE does obviously provide better tools, it isn't without its gimmicks. Like how hard it *seems* to optimize. I dont know anything about coding obviously, it just seems that most UE games ive played are pretty annoying to run. And crash models on EGO look much better, EA WRC looks more stiff and rigid in a weird way. But despite all that, game is fun to play, I just- really dont like cody using UE now.
Yeah agree about the seemingly difficult optimisation stuff, maybe just Codemasters getting up to speed. Hopefully that's the case. Because as you said, Grid Legends looked great on PC. Underrated game, actually.
I am but with some structural mods. Unfortunately the ability to fold it up means I cannot really have something else but it's an upgrade I want. One day.
@@ATribeCalledCars so long term verdict of the playseat is positive? I'm about to buy the actifit... Care to elaborate on the structural nods? That's very interesting.
@@jelly8594 It's great, I'm sure there is a benefit for something sturdier depending on skill level and strength of your wheel but I think it's great. Your weight provides much of the stability, while you can buy or 3D print a few bits to reduce flex in some areas. I actually plan to make a video about it. Just never had the time this year.
i heavily disagree with your take on Tarmac corner entry speed being unpredictable due to grip unpredictability, its solely due to the default set ups, try adjusting rear camber and add more toe out for a more stable corner exit
Well, if it is down to the default setup then for most people it is unpredictable. Makes little sense for a rally car default to be detrimental to handling.
@@ATribeCalledCars there is no ‘One Size Fits All’ set up you can do for any car in any location lmao, the default is never going to be perfect, it’s literally just sliders in the middle for every setting for you to adjust for how you drive That being said, the Default setups are reasonable for my driving and if you manage to learn how they behave they get easier when you have an actual set up for your style, but that’s just it, they somewhat suit how I drive but not even close to enough to push with, everyone drives differently, even 2 team mates driving the same rally car have their set ups different to each other If you can’t drive the car, you change the set up, if you don’t know how, people have videos explaining it all, maybe that could be a video for your own channel if you have the knowledge of what each setting does
I wouldn't know :) I dont have the knowhow to determine whether that is how it works or not. I just saw the community guy note a couple of days ago that he had asked the devs, and that it wasn't how the physics functioned. There might be other factors that result in that being the way it feels or appears maybe? Again I don't know enough, I just saw what they said :) @@ATribeCalledCars
Needs finishing properly, in the future it might be a good game, but right now (especially on console) it absolutely is not it does have potential though.
I love rally too. I have had Richard Burns, all the Dirt games, and WRC 8 to Generations. I think that's why I'm disappointed by a bit of a missed opportunity here.@@ATribeCalledCars
I think this game is getting so much hate because the cars handle like cars in real life. I have been off road racing for over 10 years, not rally but very similar to it. DR 1 and 2 feel like you're in a toy driving over plastic. Really good for getting awesome drifts and cool fast feel good moments as a player, but if you do that stuff in a real car you're gonna flip. When I played this game for the first time I was blown away by how authentic it feels to drive. You need to use real racing techniques to get through corners and holding a slide now takes real skill! I think people imagine driving over gravel in a car you have little to no grip but thats just not true. The tires bite into the gravel and the downforce of the car forces you into the road. This is why sliding is very hard. I really think people are mad because they thought they could drive off road then they play a game that feels more authentic and realize how bad they are.... the dirt rally games give you bad habits
Some people don't have a sequential shifter/handbrake, then complain about realism when they play with 360 rotation to be able to grab the paddles or their handbrake button. Of course the FFB and feeling will be way off.
On the SX, the EA game is a huge disappointment to me, ugly, bland graphics coupled with bad performance. The only thing it's got over KT's game is the car sounds imo.
For me EA WRC is the best game behind rbr, it looks worse than dirt rally 2 but thats the only thing it does worse, everything else is top notch, no major bugs, very little minor bugs and so on and so on
19 year rbr vetran The dirt physics are actually pretty darn good. The tarmac is still pretty shit. But. The sage design is WAY better then dr2. Much narrower.
Yea i have a 4070ti, i9 13900k 32G ram and its on an SSD and i get hella stutters and frame junps. I really wish devs would stop using Unreal engine to make racing games
The graphics are ok the game is full of bugs it will take a few more months to fix. The manager at the game shop said most games even non racing games are released with bugs. The game can still.be partially enjoyed
@@saiko953 i ended up getting both. Went to play ea wec last night and i duno what they have done to it, but all the trees are flying at ny car as i drive past 🤦🏻♂️🤣 completely unplayable now 🤣
This game is solid. Want some real rally? Jump on a real rally car. This one, RBR? They're both games but both are solid in terms of the fear that you're feeling during a stage ...
Playing long events, AI at 95% will beat me by 20 - 60 seconds in the first 2-3 events, then I will win the events by 1-4 minutes for the next 6-7 events finishing fastest by 10-15 minutes
I can tell you the problem cause I've figured it out... you need to do the whole event in one go... I am 100% sure that you turn off the game and continue the event later, right? The AI get's broken and is set to some super low level by default without any way to up it to your normal level for the rest of the event if you don't do it all in one go... Going to the main menu of the game is fine... but if you turn off the game and turn it back on then the AI is broken for the rest of the event... I am 100% sure that's what is done because it's happened to me ONLY when I turn off my PC in the middle of an event to do the rest later... so I've made a policy to only start an event if I have the time to finish it in one go... at least until they fix it...
WRC Generations is much better, the screen tearing and framerate issues on the new game completely ruin it, and yes I have the very latest patch on PS5, it is still really bad. When I went back to play Generations I was shocked how much better it is.
Thank God codemasters got the license, finally a decent safari rally how it should be. Can't stop playing. Yeah, everybody forgot how messy the launch of DR 2.0 was.
This came could have better physics/damage modeling than Richard Burns Rally and bring Colin McRae back from the dead and I still would not buy it, because it's published by EA. The obtrusive Denuvo DRM just makes it that much worse.
Id there is a center point pivot rotation, then no need to go further ! The game is bad and that s it. Hated that feeling on 2.0, will probably hate it on this one. Thank you for allowing me to save my money.
The co-driver in WRC sounds just blah (from what I have heard - I don't own the game). I've just gotten into Sim racing with a Moza R5 and was fortunate enough to grab Dirt Rally 2.0 GOTY edition on Steam's Black Friday sale for $10 and have been playing it like mad. But this co-driver seems to lack the personality of DR2 and sounds more like a bad AI book reader. Is it as bad as it seems? Are there other vocal options (male/female/alternate)?
@@mooncheese7002 I had and still have. I tried almost every NFS game since Most Wanted (like 95% of them), and they were all wank compared. The only half-decent one was the newer Most Wanted, too bad that it was just a Burnout Paradise clone.

Not in all areas. WRC has much longer stages, the career mode is much better, the FFB is much better, tarmac handling physics are improved, the cars are much less likely to barrel roll several times after hitting a bank or rocks. The gravel handling I prefer in DR2 and graphically it is much better looking. I expect WRC will get better in the next few week/months, but I also expect some improvements to be held back, for next years game. We have to remember that DR 2 was a real mess when it was released and took two years of updates to get it to its current state. Also Kiloton games only managed to release their last to games that were any good really. I am looking forward to see what CM will be producing towards the end of the licence period. I expect it will be a better game that Generations but we will have to wait and see. Over all the WRC core game experience is mostly improved over DR 2 and that is where I think they spent their time and resources.

Super detailed and interesting review , cool !!!
Thank you, took a while to make!
You know what I reinstalled the game and guess what it seems to look a lot better than before. I will actually purchase it esp3cially while it is on sale for $19.99. I do like the long rally stages. That was a blast on the trial. Your video made me give it another try. Thanks for the excellent content!
Well done Ben. Great video. I might go buy it one day when I’ve finished all the Snowrunner user created maps/tasks. In 2054.
You mean 2078 because of the Year 15 Pass? Glad you enjoyed the video. SnowRunner stuff to follow...
I keep thinking you’ll say something about the Tayga King, or something along those lines :)
I love your diversity; only I just can’t seem to detach you from Snowrunner.
Which is fair enough!
still waiting for a true successor to rbr :(
@@ATribeCalledCars That´s the way I drive in RBR ;-)
Looking forward to VR support, turning off the HUD, and catching some air in Finland!
Sounds awesome!
Thanks for the video. I may get this Rally game, but only when it goes on sale. Right now it is around 50.00 dollars. I am in no hurry for the game.
Oh, the game is good. Much better than 2.0 imo and I loved that game.
I love this game! I pay it on PC with a full rig and it's a ton of fun!
Some awesome driving to be had!
Thank you for this review.
Greets from same game sir. 😊
You're welcome, hope it was enjoyable.
It would have been nice to have it on Unreal Engine 5, but honestly when I drive dash-cam on safari stages I can get immersed fairly quickly.
I am looking forward to playing EA WRC just found it in the steam sale. Put hours into the previous WRC games and loved both Dirt rally games 😀 Dirt 4 was a bit rubbish though.
Still prefer 2.0 tbh.
It's a decent game, totally understand!
OMG Rallisport Challenge 2 deserves a remaster
A fair review. Having just bought it, I agree with your comments. Does your co-driver recite In Dilman's Grove and Pointy Birds to you? 😉
@@ATribeCalledCars I also favor bonnet/hood cam. I use that till the hood starts flopping around, then I switch to bumper. lol

@5:33 WRC Generations?
Well spotted ;)
The RWD cars are really badly set up. Once the setup is altered, the physics is absolutely spot on. Very impressive.
After trying both WRC and Dirt2.0 previously, and now again after WRC, I must say the Dirt2.0 is much better.
Yes. Even the graphics of DiRT 2 looks more realistic. It's a disgrace that EA killed the DiRT franchise for this every year arcade garbage game.
Plays good, looks great. But the tarmac physics are still way inferior to Richard Burns Rally. It's sad as RBR is 20 years old.
Agreed. I suspect it's down to making other surfaces more realistic without being too difficult to master for lower skill levels.
Once you have your wheel and car dialed in go to Estonia, and run Ottepia! Your Welcome!
Good suggestion! I find the career picks particularly great stages - better than I do when randomly testing lol.
And the game cost practically nothing lol 17.99 I spend more putting fuel in my own cars or bikes than this game cost , and I'm not risking my life or my cars and bikes , you need to buy this if you haven't already, definitely get the wheel with peddles and shifter , it's almost like real life bravo ea 👏
how is the handeling?
Pretty solid. Or did I miss a joke?
@@ATribeCalledCars Your pronunciation of the word is unique but i love it :D
Don't think I ever over overstreered in DR2, I thought it was great. Don't know about this game, but another engine sounds like a terrible idea. Edit: No rallycross another one. Guess I'll stick to the old one. Don't know what "difficult in another way" mean, but that's usually another word for easy.
No, it's that with DR2 it was more of the perception of difficulty being realism. In this you're battling less with the physics and that puts the difficulty more on those tougher stages.
Making car handles difficult as possible doesnt means realistic
EA WRC seems naila as DR1 but less twitch as 2.0
Yes, agreed.
Running ultra in all graphical settings smoothly however the blue fog is overwhelming. Anyone have any suggestions? Running in RTX 4070 i7
The fact they don’t tell you surface degradation only applies to quick play/Championships! Also have to set a dead zone for Rally 1 Battery to kick in! Maybe not everyone needs to do this, but there where a few of us looking at why we couldn’t recharge the battery! Great review, as always..
Interesting. I noticed there are three levels of deployment but hadn't noticed the deadzone issue! Good to know.
@@mattshepherd3412 except the one I played for first 3 days, which is Time Trial! Lol! But you are correct! Appreciate it!
Are you still using a playseat Challenge?
@@ATribeCalledCars I'm using a T300 and TLCM pedals. 3d Bits for the wheelbase would be the first thing you buy? Or something for the pedals?

17:36 Hold on what is that stage in the background, that looks sick, does anyone know the name?
i heavily disagree with your take on Tarmac corner entry speed being unpredictable due to grip unpredictability, its solely due to the default set ups, try adjusting rear camber and add more toe out for a more stable corner exit
Well, if it is down to the default setup then for most people it is unpredictable. Makes little sense for a rally car default to be detrimental to handling.
@@ATribeCalledCars there is no ‘One Size Fits All’ set up you can do for any car in any location lmao, the default is never going to be perfect, it’s literally just sliders in the middle for every setting for you to adjust for how you drive
That being said, the Default setups are reasonable for my driving and if you manage to learn how they behave they get easier when you have an actual set up for your style, but that’s just it, they somewhat suit how I drive but not even close to enough to push with, everyone drives differently, even 2 team mates driving the same rally car have their set ups different to each other
If you can’t drive the car, you change the set up, if you don’t know how, people have videos explaining it all, maybe that could be a video for your own channel if you have the knowledge of what each setting does
Pretty sure the codemaster devs confirmed that the centre pivot/rear wheel steering isn't a thing. Other than that, good review
You can see it in action and the double bounce thing exists against flat surfaces.
I wouldn't know :) I dont have the knowhow to determine whether that is how it works or not. I just saw the community guy note a couple of days ago that he had asked the devs, and that it wasn't how the physics functioned. There might be other factors that result in that being the way it feels or appears maybe? Again I don't know enough, I just saw what they said :)

Can i get links to this confirmation. Please.
Needs finishing properly, in the future it might be a good game, but right now (especially on console) it absolutely is not it does have potential though.
I'm still enjoying it, hooked me more than DR2 and Forza Motorsport. But then I do love rally.
150%
How is the feeling on wrc generations?
360° wheel rotation?
What are you playing, F1? The point is soft lock on and real wheel rotation
Some rally cars use 540, but it can be beneficial for speed to go even lower.
Some people don't have a sequential shifter/handbrake, then complain about realism when they play with 360 rotation to be able to grab the paddles or their handbrake button. Of course the FFB and feeling will be way off.
Can anyone chime in on how (current version) EA WRC stacks up to WRC Generations?
On the SX, the EA game is a huge disappointment to me, ugly, bland graphics coupled with bad performance. The only thing it's got over KT's game is the car sounds imo.
For me EA WRC is the best game behind rbr, it looks worse than dirt rally 2 but thats the only thing it does worse, everything else is top notch, no major bugs, very little minor bugs and so on and so on

Quite the difference! Though rally is unpredictable, perhaps it would help if rally games showed the AI run or if there was a crash. More believable.
Yes. When they fix stuttering tearing ans screen jumping on ps and ps5 😢😢😢
WRC Generations is much better, the screen tearing and framerate issues on the new game completely ruin it, and yes I have the very latest patch on PS5, it is still really bad. When I went back to play Generations I was shocked how much better it is.

I expect it will be a better game that Generations but we will have to wait and see. i'll buy it again later, when the game costs like $15, i won't pay more for this game
ps3 graphics..... worst game of 2023
Just lost my Profile! An entire month, the entire file was “Corrupted and unrecoverable!” On top of Zeroing out all of my Tune Settings! I’ve never had any of the graphics issues! Looks fantastic on my 80” Samsung UHD, on PS5, and play incredible on my CSL DD PRO, with V3 Inverted Pedals! Once you get your tunes dialed in, it’s Amazing 90+% of the time! Sure I wish my they didn’t prioritize Muh Diversity over Real Looking Drivers/co drivers! Man they look HIDEOUS! On top of 99% being different Races from ACTUAL RALLY DRIVERS! Meaning EVERYONE is represented except, WHO ACTUALLY Rallies! Not a Blonde Hair Blue eyed Man to BE SEEN! Sure sounds petty, but so is Muh PS3 Graphics!!! There are REAL ISSUES here! Just wish the loudest ppl where only ones listened to!
Sorry about the profile loss, that's so annoying. Glad your experience on PS5 is good though, sounds like a nice setup!
Can you play this game on Xbox One ?
No, next gen only.
No but it looks and plays like you are.
PSVR2 PLEASE
I have them all rally games but still comeback to RBR from RallySimFans
