The effects of the changes during the merger hadn’t begun to take hold. Management being across the country and engineers’ concerns (like “hey maybe we should have 2 sensors for MCAS because if it fails it could be bad”) being ignored are the big ones. Without a reversal of this course, Boeing will slowly fade into a company at best propped up by the US government who desperately doesn’t want to depend on Airbus (or Comac if they ever actually commercialize their plane). It’s sad, so maybe you go tell them too since you seem to have an in if you think telling them in person is simple. I’d tell Dave Calhoun right now if he called me and would jump at the opportunity to be any part of that turnaround.

@Leon_Tacitus_LLR doesn't have the heavy strategic airlift capability of the KC-10. That's one of the reasons they came to AMC from SAC/TAC in the 1990s in the first place. The KC-10 would have been best replaced by that A330 tanker variant in my opinion. Then replace all the KC-135s with the 767 tanker.

it's derived from the 767..... The 727 is completly different from the 767 and isn't in production anymore unlike the 767
