    Thanks for the shoutout! Dig the build. I've been super distracted with life and other projects at the moment haven't had a chance to complete my ledge x1 build yet so I havent shared my upgrades yet. I still need to put the drivetrain together, install my hydraulic brakes, install a dropper, and convert to tubeless. I also went with the advent x 10speed drivetrain. I have all the parts/tools already, hoping to get it all sorted out by the end of the month.

    Hey chicken I wanna get that Cassette, but I was wondering if I'd have to replace or upgrade any other part or just the cassette

    • @chickensendies
      @chickensendies  2 роки тому +1

      Since the cassette is a wide range 10 speed you would have to upgrade the entire drive train. (Shifter, derailleur) That being said if you have the Ledge X1 and not X2 you will also have to upgrade the rear wheel as the stock one is a free wheel and not a HG Cassette. Gets a little pricey pretty fast.

    It would be cool to see this bike go head-to-head with an XR, but would have to be Apples to Apples so, you would have to be very similar components. I don't know who it was but somebody said on UA-cam that the rear suspension wasn't a slinky as the xr which is kind of odd because I believe the rear shock on an XR is about a 1/2 inch shorter but don't quote me on that.

    • @chickensendies
      @chickensendies  3 роки тому +1

      They are definitely close in comparison but the Ledge X1 really shines in the geo department. You can just tell it is a newer styled bike.

    • @chickensendies
      @chickensendies  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks, Eric and I appreciate it! The rear is 135mm QR and unless you do some modifications (Which I do not recommend) It will have to stay that way. But there are a lot of great options for a rear hub that is a huge upgrade compared to the stock in the 135mm QR. The front you can do what ever you want since it is separate! HAHAHAHAH

    So I bought my wife a Ledge x1 and myself an Axum. I upgraded my drivetrain a couple months ago but haven't touched hers yet. While cleaning our chain and reapplying the chain lub I heard her rear hub sounding like there is sand in it. So grabbed my tools and went to remove it and found out that the Ledge x1 has a freewheel and not a Cassette.
    So should I just replace the rear wheelset and them get her the Advent X?

    I have a Ledge X2 that I literally just purchased last week. I've already got a Rockshox 35 front shock replacement and it came with a thru axle for the wheels that I ALSO just bought, Roval Traverse with a DT350 rear hub that has thru axle end caps. I do see that these bikes have a replaceable rear drop-out, so I'd LOVE to be able to find a set of drop-outs that will convert the back wheel from quick release to thru axle, if possible. If not, do I just try to find quick release end-caps for the rear wheel? HELP! I also have a new rear shock that'll be here Saturday, the 26th. Gotta get rid of the squeaking stock unit. It drives me NUTS.

    Will acolyte cassette work?

      @chickensendies  2 роки тому +1

      The X1 is stock with a freewheel so sadly it will not. You'll have to buy a different rear wheel with a HG/casette rear hub to get that to work.
