Love the bike and what you are doing to it! I know you love the look of those Trifox carbon bars/stem but you gotta switch back to riser bars and stem for downhills. The negative angle of the Trifox are great for climbing and cross country, but put you at a real disadvantage for downhills. Good luck and keep pedaling!
nasty crash there. glad you're fine. riding solo can be tricky. this summer I crashed in place with no phone reception, and beware of bears signs were everywhere. luckily I just had several bruises and I was all covered in mud, sliding in corner into some ditch in middle of nowhere. handlebars went sideways, but I managed to fix that with multitool. in situations like that, it is better to have someone else on your rides :) stay safe brother!

I have the Microshift AdventX on my GT Sanction and I love it. It is not as cheap as the Acolyte, but it gives you a 10 Speed 11 to 48 cassette for about $150. Regular trigger shifter w out the viewing window. Nice and small shifter like SRAM or Shimano shifters. Cassette uses HG hub too, so no expensive wheel upgrades.

Man, I felt that crash and I'm just sitting at my office desk! I tell ya what I appreciate about channels like this, is you guys, and a few others I can name, show that you can take a lower end budget bike like this and really make a great ride out of it with a little time and attention. I just put a bunch of extra money into a Giant Talon 4 recently that I'm enjoying the hell out of so far. The next project I'd like to do is something like what you guys are doing with these Mongoose bikes. The only hiccup is finding something to work with that would be a good fit for someone like me standing at 6'3". Unfortunately these medium framed X1 / X2 bikes wouldn't be good for me I don't think. I'm keeping an eye out though. Great video and I'm glad you're not too banged up after that crash. But man I know what it's like to have to do the broken bike march back to the Waterworks trailhead! That sucks!

Not sure if this contributed to the derailer breaking, but on full suspensions, the distance from the chainring to the cassette is not always the same, so a little wiggle room should be taken into account in either direction. That looked like a good fun crash 😂. Love it!!
Great as always guys. I couldn't get 2nd to work properly on my eagle. I said screw it and completely unhooked it and retuned the whole thing. Shifts like a dream now. Im going for a roadie ride this weekend. Gonna be a weird change of pace to be using clips for the first time in months. You guys always give me the confidence to FA&FO when it comes to working on your own bikes.

that was an epic crash hope the bike isnt to badly damaged i definetly think the ledge is deserving of a higher quality groupset but nonetheless the acolyte even without a clutch is bomb proof!
Hey I'm about to upgrade the fork on my ledge x2, and was wondering if 180mm fork would affect it in a negative way ? What would be pros and cons... I've looked at ur videos and can't find anything regarding changing fork height lengths and pros and cons.. . Maybe that's an idea for a future video? Anyway I love the look of a 180mm fork... so any input is appreciated. Thanks
Hey brother, there has only been 1 bike I mentioned the riding con when it came to too much:) It was the Himalo we threw on the GT. It was a little too much in the climbing department due to wanting to pop a wheelie! But it is like 180MM stanchion length and another 60mm of rise! LOL So I would not put too much into it, I have never felt any negatives with switching and riding any of our bikes when everyone said it would be impossible to ride with more or less then 20mm added to the fork. I would think you would be in the "OK" zone given the bike is a full squish? I would say go for it, especially if you do more downhill s opposed t a lot of climbing, I would bet it would ride out GOOD:) Please update us! Good luck

would be nice if there was a 11 speed 50T version, cus that is good for my 29er, but 48T on Advent X is too heavy, unless I go down to 30T, I've not tried that yet. but with 30T the low gear would still be light enough for me. but with 30T on my current setup I would make the top hear too light. but with 48T the highest gear will be too low I think. but I go at high speed on long straights and downhill's, reaching about 50Km/h but it's great there are options. but I hope for even more options.
Bummer about the crash. The trail rash looks terrible, you took a big hit. Those full suspension bikes look tempting, but given what I ride, I'll stick to the hard tails.

you keep doing the jumps wrong, you need to keep the bike and body in line the the landing and the run-up, but you keep leaning and turning bike to the right or left. have you looked into this? is this some joint or injury related issues that keep your body moving bike to the left or right? if the wrists are the issue I recommend wrist supports, and if ankles are the issue I recommend ankle braces/supports. maybe your back is twisting making you turn the bar and throw the bike?
Man have not looked into it no?? But it just caught me by surprise, the new top was intense and I landed on the flat. Maybe I need to just ride better, that sounds like a viable option.
The Tick kept jumping it with the seat up and landing on it. After about 20 atomic butt drops, the dropper was bent. We might put one on the Ardor and Ledge🤷

Hey I'm about to upgrade the fork on my ledge x2, and was wondering if 180mm fork would affect it in a negative way ? What would be pros and cons... I've looked at ur videos and can't find anything regarding changing fork height lengths and pros and cons.. . Maybe that's an idea for a future video? Anyway I love the look of a 180mm fork... so any input is appreciated. Thanks
Hey brother, there has only been 1 bike I mentioned the riding con when it came to too much:) It was the Himalo we threw on the GT. It was a little too much in the climbing department due to wanting to pop a wheelie! But it is like 180MM stanchion length and another 60mm of rise! LOL So I would not put too much into it, I have never felt any negatives with switching and riding any of our bikes when everyone said it would be impossible to ride with more or less then 20mm added to the fork. I would think you would be in the "OK" zone given the bike is a full squish? I would say go for it, especially if you do more downhill s opposed t a lot of climbing, I would bet it would ride out GOOD:) Please update us! Good luck

would be nice if there was a 11 speed 50T version, cus that is good for my 29er, but 48T on Advent X is too heavy, unless I go down to 30T, I've not tried that yet. but with 30T the low gear would still be light enough for me. but with 30T on my current setup I would make the top hear too light. but with 48T the highest gear will be too low I think.
but I go at high speed on long straights and downhill's, reaching about 50Km/h
but it's great there are options. but I hope for even more options.

Bummer about the crash. The trail rash looks terrible, you took a big hit. Those full suspension bikes look tempting, but given what I ride, I'll stick to the hard tails.

you keep doing the jumps wrong, you need to keep the bike and body in line the the landing and the run-up, but you keep leaning and turning bike to the right or left.
have you looked into this? is this some joint or injury related issues that keep your body moving bike to the left or right?
if the wrists are the issue I recommend wrist supports, and if ankles are the issue I recommend ankle braces/supports.
maybe your back is twisting making you turn the bar and throw the bike?
Man have not looked into it no?? But it just caught me by surprise, the new top was intense and I landed on the flat. Maybe I need to just ride better, that sounds like a viable option.

The Tick kept jumping it with the seat up and landing on it. After about 20 atomic butt drops, the dropper was bent. We might put one on the Ardor and Ledge🤷

With the setup we used yes, the ledge does not come with a freehub. We have a completely different rim vs stock.

I have a ton of different channels for people to speak in like budget builds, share your build, general mtb discussions, and things like that. No one is on the server right now except me cause I just wanna confirm if it would be ok to let people join, and call it the Wolftick Nation official Discord server. So is it ok if there's a Discord server for your fans? And if it is fine, do you think you could announce it in an upcoming video?
