I was one of those kids that the only way to get attention was to get sick! My dad was a doctor to busy for me, My mom was to busy too, they hired help who I never developed any feelings for, I feel invisible! so I literally ate perfumes, soap, dog food, to get sick from a very young age, My mom used to tell me they never understood why I kept eating weird stuff. When I was around 7-8 and I understand how nasty was to eat those stuff I stop eating then but, I developed allergies and asthma. I remember waiting to tell my dad I could not breath until hours later when I could almost die! To get more hours of attention from him. All my life I thought it was weird but I never Pay attention until this quarantine that I start working on my belief system and that came out. Great chat! Thanks for it. I still have a lot of beliefs to fix 😊 but I feel I’m in the right direction.

I love Shelly Lefkoe, she is one of those amazing souls that can see beyond the veil of what we are believing that is keeping us from all the good things we want in life. So good to see her here!

Improving my health through taking a functional medicine approach has absolutely changed my life! I have overcome debilitating MS symptoms through drastically changing the food that I eat, into a clean diet that supports healthy gut & body function! I've now created a business to help fellow autoimmune sufferers to do the same! So my WHY is to help others live their best life as this brings out the best in me & in them too! Thanks Dr Hyman & team - you have no idea what your educational docu-series have done for me in improving my health & quality of life! xx

I understand your fear from childhood of telling the truth for fear of rage from a parent and it carries over into other aspects of life. I'm glad you were healed 🌹

I found this to be extremely helpful, uplifting and has given me hope. I asked my sister if I could share it with her. She said she’s very happy and doesn’t think she needs it. However she is unemployed 50 pounds overweight and miserable to be around. If you think you don’t need it you probably do

Oh Mark. Thank you for sharing your story. It brought tears to my eyes. Wow. And my mom always flushed leftover food down the toilet, too!

A great episode thanks. Absolutely spot on - and I whole heartedly agree with the comments about information and motivation and how they don’t equate to change. It’s what in our minds that makes the difference. Thank you.

Great perspective with concrete advice. Does it remind anyone else of the 4 agreements? Well, really just 2 of the 4. Don’t take anything personally and don’t make assumptions.

Hey Mark, have you tried havening? It's a neurosensory therapy that's used in trauma. Wonderful for de-charging emotions and events.

What meanings are you attaching to your experiences? I started doing this a few weeks ago by not getting mad at people cutting me off. Because I'm not in their mind. I really have no clue. 😆 I have to shut the program off that is running in my mind telling me to get angry because they cut you off because of your older car. Wow amazing. Some of it may be true. But it's not true all of the time. They may be on the way to somewhere super important. So why waste time and energy reacting negatively.

re the lawyer who was nervous during the interview, what if the interviewers dismissed his credentials and just focused on him being nervous? if that was his dream job, that would be really devastating. if that was not an important job, then it's easy to move on.

Loved this, although as a therapist, so much of this is actually what is done in therapy. There are many different forms of psychotherapy. If it is taking anyone years to see results in therapy, they should find a new therapist.
