I still think a black bohrok should've been 2010's black stars set instead of skrall. bohrok are among the most iconic bionicle characters visually Edit: Lmao I changed my mind. From a story standpoint, the skrall set was unnecessary. But imo it is the best designed stars set. Cool weapons, cool look, and it makes sense in universe. Unlike matoran-sized tahu, takanuva or gresh for example.
I agree and disagree at the same time. While I think it should've been something else instead of the skrall, I don't think it should be a bohrok it should've been a vahki.
@@wisconsinking323 Although the Vahki are a good blend between the Bohrok and the Rahkshi, part of me wonders that it might be less iconic than either. Honestly, I like the villain selection. We get one from each of the major "eras" of Bionicle. Rahkshi represents the Mata Nui years, Piraka the Ignition Trilogy, and Skrall the Spherus Magna storyline. I wonder if swapping out the Skrall with Roodaka or a dark hunter would have been a better idea, though.
@@shonenbag6478 I've done an entire rewrite of 2010 and came to the following conclusion: Stars should represent important moments in the bionicle story. And imo 1 year should have no more than 1 set to represent it, so I'd keep yellow rahkshi (iconic design and cool color) and gresh (recognizable good guy from 2009) and remove skrall and takanuva. Now the next thing we have to consider are the 6 colors. Red - tahu, blue - nektann, green - gresh, brown/yellow - rahkshi. Which leaves us with white and black. Finally let's go over the years: we have 9 years of bionicle leading up to Stars. We must choose 6 of them to get a set. 2001: tahu is the perfect choice. This is also the best 2010 set imo. 2004: now we only have 6 sets for 9 years which means 3 years have to be left wirhout a Stars set. Imo 2004 should be 1 of them. The toa metru are now turaga and the vahki are all gone afaik. And can't really shrink a titan to the size of a Stars set. 2005: this is another year I would skip. Hordika, visorak, rahaga... none of them exist in 2010's canon. 2006: piraka are fan favourites and everybody loves nektann to have his own set. 2007: I think 2007 is a fan favourite year and I would give Pridak the last Stars slot. He is the leader of a very iconice group and the best pick for the last white set. 2008: all the makuta are dead and the toa nuva team is already represented. And you're not gonna pick solek are you... 2009: gresh makes sense. One of the faces of 2009. I'd like to go in depth if I maybe got invited to a ttv podcast episode >.> Hit me up if you're interested ^^
It would’ve been cool if in the story, after the toa mata defeated the bahrag, the bahrag combined into that spider thing and was like “I’m ready for round two.” 😂😂
Perhaps with the Bionicle video games in development, one of them might work on 2002 post-release and use the Spider as a Superboss or a True Final Boss.

I feel like LEGO should do what it did for star wars with bionicle. Let's get some reprints for an anniversary celebration. Bring back the old sets, if not just for better plastic quality and nostalgia. Most of the kits could benifit with a reprint. (Cough Hahli Cough Mahri and phantoka lime Green Cough)
Sadly reprints just aren’t going to happen because when lego has molds that they haven’t used for anything in a while that are made for a very specific purpose in mind like most of the bionicle g1 pieces, they just destroy the molds. In bionicle 2015 when kopaka used a rahkshi staff piece that was a “new mold” since the original mold didn’t exist. If you want an example of this happening in other lego, well there was a lego ninjago legacy set that featured an anacondrai worshiper that didn’t have the snake skull helmet that originals had cause lego destroyed the mold. So sadly as much as I would love bionicle set reprints it’s just not going to happen since for lego that would be extremely expensive to remake so many old molds, I thought I’d mention this since not everyone knows about this, also I don’t know/have any idea why lego destroys old molds this is just something they do.
It’s still worth mentioning, in terms of alternate models, that the Toa Nuva all came with the necessary pieces to make either one or both arms (or legs on Pohatu Nuva) swing with the gear function. That wasn’t mentioned here or on your original Toa Nuva reviews.
I love this! Wairuha Nuva looks far better to me... but *not as Wairuha* , which is a shame. I adore the lil birdos and that lovely crab! The Makuta had a real thing for crabby bois.
“This is a Pokawi, and it looks almost like a Kiwi” Well, I actually see more Kakapo in it than Kiwi, but if this thing were brown and had a katana piece for the bill, I could definitely see it as a Kiwi.

Something to note about the Boxor walker: The rubber band used on the cockpit is dangerously stretched when Nuparu is riding it. It's pulled way farther than that size of rubber band is supposed to go, and this will cause stressing, or in worst case, breaking, of the band if it's built like that for too long. However, if Nuparu isn't in the cockpit, the visor pulls down and the rubber band isn't stretched as far. Also, I don't own the Bahrag spider, but it also looks like the rubber bands are being dangerously stretched. Does anyone own it and know if it stretches the bands too far?

Idk what he's talking about with the Wairuha Nuva (5:09) looking inferior to its last iteration... The Nuva looks *much* better in terms of build. It's better proportioned, the legs and arms look like actual legs and arms, the spread of color is much better. The only downside of it is the ankles, and how easily they detach. Other than that, it's a great combo-model, and me thinks Eljay's got some mad nostalgia goggles on for that judgement...
when i first saw the boxor walker i thought that it was better than the design we got, but seeing the function the normal one is better, i guess the one part i like about it is how the windshield is facing down word.

i honestly think that wairuha nuva is the best toa kaita of the mata/nuva, he just ends up looking more...complete, and without the gaps in the chest and such
even though the boxor walker doesn't have any of the functionality of the original boxor, I honestly like it more appearance wise. the original is sortof just a giant blob of technic pieces, while the walker has a much more clearly defined shape.
Hey guys can you please talk about the prototype sets and concept art more?? Ive seen just tooooo many of the sand tarakava.. over and over again however the other prototype sets are being slept on
heres the thing about spiders or scorpions in the bionicle universe they all or most of them have just four or six legs which means that in bionicle these creatures are very different then what we have in are world so i think that its ok to call them these creature in that context u know what i mean
Wasn't my point. My point was that those combo models used pieces from sets from other themes. The system parts were a part of the Tarakava set. For those two models, the pieces used came from other Technic themes and sets, and rendered them not exclusively BIONICLE combos. It would be like combining an Exo-Force set with a Ninjago set.
Kitten Probably a hold-over from when Bionicle was called “Bone Heads of VooDoo island” (think really cartoonish tribesmen with huge masks and googly eyes). The arm pieces were called ‘voodoo bone’ in Lego DD I believe.
Akaimi nuva to me honestly looks somewhat just over lanky and without the justification of the previous set being the first. Whiruru Nuva to me actually looks a lot better, he's less gappy and more even proportioned and looks more like a unique thing than the mishmash the other 3 look like

@@EljayJohnsen I do recall that the Bahrag construction was kinda confusing sometimes - I built them with my girlfriend and I had to correct some of her construction here and there, so there's a lot of room for error.
Glad to hear it with the Slizers! I've sadly not been able to keep up with most of those reviews, but I'll be sure to watch the combo video when it's out!
The gears still skip teeth, right?
@@matthewbrown7834 It rolls along the gear like in every other set IIRC.
@@GhabulousGhoti I thought it used a rubber band to grip to it so when the neck fully extends it losses grip and slams shut.
I’m very excited for Zivon in 2005
Voice speaks in his mind CLEAN THEM ALL IT MUST BE CLEANED CLEAN THEM ALL IT MUST BE CLEANED
At one point i had bohrok kaita za built for about 3 months because of its impressive size
I like to pit a six long axel instead of a five long on the gehkula so that the little black parts sticking out appear as little black dot eyes
Wairuha Nuva was the only Kaita I ever built, so I never actually realized just how short and stocky he was compared to all the other Toa Kaita.
"Clean it all. It must be cleaned. Clean it all. It must be cleaned. Clean them all. They must be cleaned." LOL!
i honestly think that wairuha nuva is the best toa kaita of the mata/nuva, he just ends up looking more...complete, and without the gaps in the chest and such
Man I didn't realize that I was gonna come into this video with every combo model being hated lmao
Looking forward to the makuta combo next
even though the boxor walker doesn't have any of the functionality of the original boxor, I honestly like it more appearance wise.
the original is sortof just a giant blob of technic pieces, while the walker has a much more clearly defined shape.
Wish I tried building Wairuha Nuva with an upright torso, just to see.
im so exited for 2006 and 2007
10/10
In the lego offices
Designer 1: ok we need a bohrok combiner any ideas.
Designer 2: ummm.......CRAB RAVE.
Hey guys can you please talk about the prototype sets and concept art more?? All prototypes look really badass FACTS and holy cow some look really mind blowing.. one of my personal faves is the Kinkalao Slave prototype set and the "Giant" Keetongu with Metru Build.. that would be great content!! Ive seen just tooooo many of the sand tarakava.. over and over again however the other prototype sets are being slept on
Alright wake me up when its march. Ready for part 3.
Welp, I guess I'm gonna build the Exo Raptor and Bahrag Spider now. There goes my money
Is that Japanese one supposed to be an angel with guns?
There are the hot bionicle sets,
Then there are the popular bionicle sets, and I look like..... a bohrok va with two assault rifles.
Looks alot like a Scizor but that may just be me
The Japanese bohrok combiner is slight tweaking with outside parts away from being one of the best anime mocs ever
heres the thing about spiders or scorpions in the bionicle universe they all or most of them have just four or six legs which means that in bionicle these creatures are very different then what we have in are world so i think that its ok to call them these creature in that context u know what i mean
We’ve had system pieces in bionicle sets before such as the tarakava. If they are LEGO they can be a bionicle combo model
Eljay Johnsen oooooh my god my bad that totally makes sense
@@JJAG3 Nah, nah, you're all good! Happy to clear up any confusion. :)
Akamai does have a codpiece now.
BEEN WAITING ALL MONTH!!
Lmao I know this happens once a months
I love the 02 combiners though - they have such a nostalgic vibe to them!
Very well made vid!
Why is the pokawi SO CUTE
I liked the boxor alternate model for whacking away at Va.
I like the Waruha nuva a lot actually but yeah the ankles are a pain. BTW why are they called voodoo balls?
Kitten Probably a hold-over from when Bionicle was called “Bone Heads of VooDoo island” (think really cartoonish tribesmen with huge masks and googly eyes). The arm pieces were called ‘voodoo bone’ in Lego DD I believe.
Cant wait for next episode 😀
i actually like the design of the bohrok kaitas legs, they remind me of plants as if there growing from the ground somehow
pretty sure the infernivika is that acid-spitting ta-wahi critter seen in one of the animations
I think infernivika looks like a rooster
Finally a bionicle fan that can accept G2!
Actually, the Makika is in Bionicle the Game, not the Ghekula.
I would've love for the bahrag spider to be the bohrok queen and carry them on their back!!
31:37 Takutanuva confirmed :D
The Pokawi kinda looks like a kiwi with the colors of a resplendent quetzal
Is it just me or is the sound in this video slightly off to the left?
Akaimi nuva to me honestly looks somewhat just over lanky and without the justification of the previous set being the first. Whiruru Nuva to me actually looks a lot better, he's less gappy and more even proportioned and looks more like a unique thing than the mishmash the other 3 look like
Is that how Eljay really cleans his bionicles?
