- A group of firefighters were accused of drinking on the job on Friday after a 911 caller said their firetruck was blocking traffic in Melvindale.
They deserve a break. They are human beings also. We need to stop blowing things out of prospective.
They absolutely do not. Those of us in public service know what we got into. Lack of discipline and professionalism
Derrick, so basically no accountability? You will be eating your words if these same guys had to come to your home drunk and couldn't function on the job. Will you give them a break then? We have a right to demand accountability for any I repeat ANY public servant! We don't pay taxes to let those who are on duty do whatever the hell they want in their on duty time.
@@jerrybutler605 "We don't pay taxes to let those who are on duty do whatever the hell they want in their on duty time" Tell that to everyone who works at AMR or any other private EMS service who don't get a red cent of your tax dollars and make less than a fast food employee. Next time you work 96+ hours in a week to pay the bills (because you make ~10 dollars an hour and have to survive on OT), let us know. It has nothing to do with this incident, I just wanted to point out that a significant number of public servants work long hours for essentially no pay, no pay raises ever and shit benefits and apparently very few people understand that.
And GRILL, there's nothing wrong with them EATING.
They will tell you flat out that they cannot drink, that they are on duty...
Back in the 70's we had a beer or two when we came back from a run... Relax people.
No shit.
You fight fire with tequila, everbody knows that.
This is stupid, these guys deal with so much crap on a daily basis and to get treated like this as they're saying good bye to a brother is sickening, yeah move the truck if it's in the way but damn theres no reason to ruin their careers.
I’d give him the “1 incident”, if it wasn’t for the Chief’s Expedition in the weeds and blasting a parked car.
Some might think it's unfair the Lt. got suspended when his test came back negative (eventually), he is ultimately responsible for the actions of his crew.
This is Detroit, a firefighter having a beer should be the least of your concerns. Whatta joke.
Who ever called the police must have been having another bad day 🤷🏽♂️ 😂…I try to stay away from those type of people, They’ll probably call the police on they damn self for not filing taxes last year.
Grabbing a bite to eat at one of the closest open resturant/ bars near the fire house. This is a boundry city of the firehouse.
This is total bs! People always trying to find a story.
Yeah and we have also been working thru COVID so I don't know why that is an Excuse.
Come on man, it was the only incident that day of the firefighters drinking on the job. The Commissioner was just mincing words.
Drinking on the clock while you could be responsible for someone else’s life. Despicable.
Unreal
Really point 02. If you take NyQuil you blow that or higher
Time 1:49 the same old scripted speeches when you get caught.....
Thank God Detroit is so safe that cop had nothing better to do.
That would apply IF they weren't in Melvindale.....
at least he wasnt a chief crashing his vehicle into a fence
Drinking on the clock while driving a
62,000 pound fire truck. 🙄
Unbelievable
“Not cleared to go back to work”…. How much you want to bet he’s still getting paid.
of course, Hes still get paid they tell us they not, but we know they are. no way you can be investigated for four year and don't run into issues or money, I'm not saying they didn't save but damn look how much you make a year I know you spending big time! good point!!
The tone of this report is awful. I hate local news reporters.
And this surprises who ? It’s F’ing Detroit
Detroit is ludicrous.
Birds complaining 😂😂
The Lt should be fired for allowing the continuation of violations in his brigade. There should be nothing else to say.
What about the police 🚔 in our whole nation.
That hole department starting at the top down needs a overhaul starting with pay qulfactons equipment and leadership.
They were still in their 1st alarm district.
More incidents, but this is a one time incident. Detroit, Pure Michigan.
So was on duty or not cause if dey wasn’t on shift den I feel like dey should be able to go have a few drinks off work dey grown asl
It's okay. It's a bar AND grill...
Cameras will tell the truth
Man come on leave these firefighters alone
Absolutely not.
Looking bad fire fighters.
were they still on the clock when eating? was it the end of the shift and they were saying goodbye to a fellow fire fighter? this stuff is relevant if you ask me. cause that is totally different than if they are just grabbing a bite during the shift and expected to head back to the firehouse or be ready for a call.
Leave firefighters alone.
Or how about let’s get some integrity. Discipline and professionalism in here
He'll they have to eat to so paddy
a drunk firefighter is better than no firefighter
What?! That's like saying a drunk emergency surgeon is better than no surgeon. Training means nothing when your inebriation makes a situation worse than it already was
@@sesshokitten except your surgeon makes 450k a year whats a fireman make? When's last time a surgeon seen a man burn alive?
@@sesshokitten when you are standing in your yard watching your home burn and no one comes to help maybe you'll understand.
@@bluegrassnnawoods8198 So you're okay with a drunk firefighter driving to an emergency where he could potentially kill an entire family driving home?
@@Alfredo12O44 .08 is drunk they were all well below the legal limit
They need an overhaul of the Fire Department this is inexcusable
Thanks Democrats !
really Detroit you don't have bigger problem's?
Hasn’t there been a few DUI incidents w/ this station? Even a couple crashes. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest move to choose a “Bar and Grill” to eat at, w/ your firetruck parked out front. A little common sense and this whole thing could have been avoided.
They cut them some slack they've been busting their ass these last 2 years threw this pandemic they deserve some type of relief
Firemen have always been drunk's
I used to work at a very expensive hotel and the local TV station crew and anchors were always there and they ALWAYS had the biggest bills...
you see the shit they see let me know how many shots you have a day!
@@dwaynemclaren7160 then they had no business being on the job. Period!
@@jerrybutler605 who you going to replace them with?
Entitlement unbelievable you know you're in a position to where people watching everything you do so why bring attention to yourself
Blue line privilege
Would be accurate, if these were cops. They aren't.
