I DON’T WANNA SKI 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 AND MY DAD IS (BTW not my dad is not using the device right now) MAKING ME DO THIS RIGHT NOW 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Nice. But as soon as he said he'd skated, surfed and snowboarded I thought - "never on skis but not really a beginner"
Late reply i know, but it's very much possible to learn how to ski in one day. My first time skiing the closest parallell i had was ice skating which i was terrible at. So i just learn the basic knowledge on how to brake and taught myself to ski by riding the easiest hill several times until i felt secure.
You are absolutely right, but the progression is still good .So if your student have never skated/surfed/snowboarded, may take longer to learn, but in the end he will have to follow the same steps
Yeah me too, I was expecting to watch a true amateur
OBAMNA?
Also that hills really helps for begginer and learning, it’s not too steep, haha today I went skiing for the first time, it was awesome i fell a couple of time the trick is to really not be afraid and let yourself go, don’t force it just go with the flow, I saw kids like small kids do it, I’m a grown man and said if they can do it I can do it hahah tomorrow imma practice parallel turn and turning
I went skiing for the first time a month ago. It was one of the most fun things I’ve ever did! If anyone gets the chance to go skiing, do it you won’t regret it 😁
I’m happy to hear that! Enjoy your future ski trips😀
I went for the first time today!! With a group of friends that have gone before but I was a total newbie. By the end of the day I was zoomin!! Absolutely amazing I will go back any chance I get
Can skinny People do it? Do you need alot of strength? For balancing
I did recently. I was OK. Hired boots n skis. They were apparently my size, but I couldn't turn properly. I couldn't get the leverage in my ankles. The more I tried, the more it hurt. Its probably the cheapish boots?!?!
@@StompItTutorials do you know why my ankles felt like they were being crushed. I am a waterskier, so felt at ease. My mates had their own stuff. They had no problem turning. Do you think it's the gear?
Guys i've never been on ski, and i watched this tutorial and after the second way down i was ok and i didn't fall even once! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING ❤
Can you do a tutorial on how to teach an absolute beginner?
This is so cute.. And i think you are so talented teaching people, you just have the right feeling and empathy for that kind of stuff. I really think this is a special talent
Thanks for this video now I have an Idea how to teach my girlfriend how to ski!!
Same boat ma man
do yourself a favor. Save your relationship and have your girlfriend buy a ski lesson instead. I am a fulltime ski instructor and I can't tell you how many relationships I have seen end on our beginner slopes.
What @OG GOODY said my man! Get her lessons while you go and get some laps in. I tried the teach her my self approach last year and the next day we were down at the ski school.
Og got it right...buy her a lesson....you'll save so much by doing so.
if a ski lesson can break a relationship, it doesn't worth saving.
To teach you need to have a lot of patience and sacrifice your ski day, it worth paying besides ski instructors also need to eat.
8:20 The best moment of your explanation! It's simple and so clear to understand, thank you
This video is awesome! I'm skiing tomorrow after 4 years of no skiing, so I'm pretty much starting from the bottom.. I'm feeling a little scared/nervous and also very excited... practicing my postures at home while I watch this! Thank you!
Same
How did it go bro?
@@darktjeAI the comments was two years ago lol
I have a ski trip tmrw and this was also helpful
It had been 17 years for me. Just got back into it this year and having a blast!
I've taught ten of my friends over my life and this will be a good resource to add to the curriculum!
You must be such a great friend!
That’s awesome keep it up ! :) I wish to ski one day and snowboard as well
Thanks for the UA-cam videos..I'm teaching my 60yr old mom and 2yr old how to ski!! All the videos you have made are helping and inspiring!!Great job!!
Thanks for this. Remembered most of it but i appreciate it as I’m starting from ground zero with the GF tomorrow and hopefully teaching her well.
I love your tutorials! Hope to see more in 2020. Best wishes to u guys!
Skiing today and have been watching tutorials - loved this! You guys are great
Amazing video, great job Osman!
This is such a useful video, as confirmed skiers it’s really important to know how to explain the very basics in order to really grow your understanding of the practice -and also because it always comes in handy tone a great teacher!-
Thanks for the great content, can’t wait to see the rest of Osman’s ski evolution
Thanks guys! Wonderfully made video with some very helpful tips. Appreciate this!
There's great, happy energy in this video.
Do more of these. Great vid.
Take him to parallel/intermediate and then advanced. 👍👍
Excellent tutorial as always!
I am a beginner ski instructor and this is a great video for me to pick up some some teaching techniques for my beginner classes thanks man!
Thank you for the wonderful presentation! I had much more challenging conditions, a smaller steeper bunny hill, lots of traffic, and a group lesson. I got the fundamentals but Where Osman had those concerns about forces and managing turns and weight made the circuit connect. I'll try a larger hill like that one and I think it'll be fun! Thanks again!
Very helpful videos with the actual beginners. Most of them are shown by pros how to ski, but ur way is amazing and clear! Thx
Great video. I’m a beginner skier and ready to parallel, this video is inspiring. I will be watching it again and again until it’s time to hit the slopes.
Nice! I must be going snow skiing soon! Keep us updated on Osman’s progress😎 Great job to both of you ⛷⛷
I've never been skiing before but I'm going on a ski trip in March and I'm beyond excited! I've been binging your videos- they're so entertaining, informative, and the production is amazing! Please make more tutorials for beginners!
I’m going on a ski trip in a week with family friends and I’m super excited but nervous lol
How did it go? Did you manage to ski?
Fresh content guys I’m not a beginner but I enjoy watching any video you make👍😀
Shoutout to the man Osman! More of him
Thank you I am skiing for the 1st time in March this is going to help a lot
good presentation of a beginner experience. I see some things here I can use in my professional ski instructing here at Taos Ski Valley, NM. Thank you for sharing.
such awesome videos, you should do more vids with Osman and maybe more ski hacks?
You're an excellent ski coach. I'm helping some friends learn and this video was super helpful! Thank you! 😌
All the other sports do help - so not a beginner
But this tutor is amazing - wish ski schools had these instructors! As ski school is sooooo expensive but a must, especially if he is your tutor
this is very helpful for me because i have ski today for School trip for 3 days im very worried to what to do so i watch some tutorials and what to do during leg pain and more some of like that for my safety i hope this works💗
Thank you for your great Videos!
Dude is a great teacher
Great tutorial, now i thin the ski look easy to learn . Thnak you :)
Thank, man. Amazing 🥳 for my first ski day. Here we go 🥳
Keep it up!
Excellently filmed, arranged and great lesson ! Totally love it !!
I am really happy you fructified the chance of doing a big favour to someone. This stage of "frustrated not even-skier" puts everyone on the balance of even quit a sport that could have later on bring amazing satisfactions and benefits. Do you know any trick for learning how to slow down? I had for my first lesson an instructor that kept screaming at me " Do the slice of pizza ! Do the slice of pizza !" ( reffereing to that position when you do a sort of triangle with your skis and are also on the edge of the skis) and i kept saying " i am trying but i can't !" ( i was either on the edges, either doing the triangle but not both in the same time). And that was the whole "lesson" about. Like you said: not being able to explain how to do it, the "instructor" limited to just show me how she was doing it. Not very useful...
At the end of the video, when the other videos to click popped up, they all covered Osmond when there was a completely empty side of the shot available. Reminded me of every time Mike Wazowski was covered up by a logo or UPC in Monsters Inc., lol.
I noticed the same thing. It can be easily fixed in a few minutes if the content creators care to fix it.
Awesome coaching skills!
This guy is such a boss teacher!
I know this is 4 years old, but you guys make it look like so much fun. Trying skiing for the first time this weekend, and I’m super excited, little afraid but excited mostly
Teaching skiing is not as easy as the act itself...great job!
great video, thanks for doing this
I love your video's and your style of skiing.
I'm 43 and getting back in to skiing after 20 years of snowboarding and skis have really changed. Suggestion: Can you please make a "how to ski twin tip (rocker/camber/rocker) skis?" Not as easy as some might think.
I tried my first time last night and the skis kept over rotating in my turns, kinda squirrelly to be honest. I'm riding the Armada ARV 106's FYI. Any advice would be great. I'm just a free ride type that loves some side hits and I want to learn some flat land tricks too. My skis are fresh tuned and waxed too.
Very nice video man
Great job. Awesome video. Thanks :)
Like this guys approach - start them off with the "old time" methods that teach edge control, weight shifting, and skid turning, exactly the things beginners need to know to control things when they get on a slope that is a bit too much for them.
Oh man, you are hilarious. Always fun to watch. And I learn alot
Hab das Video jetzt nach 2 Wochen endlich zu Ende geschaut 😂. Hat mir gefallen 🤟🏽
Osman my mann
Outstanding
Thanks for the help I’m doing this at school every week for pe and this video will help :)
clashvalley hah same except I chose too
awesome stuff :)
Your videos makes me miss teach skiing - been 5 years now - but this winter I'm taking my nephew to Chamonix for his first ski trip and your videos are such a nice resource to revisit all the basic techniques of teaching. I was a bit surprised though with how you taught plough turns - I always taught my pupils to move the center of weight to turn and not the "point you toes". I think this puts less strain on the knees - but I'd like to learn the ideas behind your teaching methods =)
Best regards,
- and again thx for creating these excellent resources :)!
Going skiing in April for the first time and am excited
april? why not now?
Awesome video
Thanks a lot! I’m from Brazil, just learn the basics of skiing and your tutorials are great! And your accent too!
Very Cool!
Fantastic!!! As always, though...
great video! wouldve been nice to have some time bench marks so we get an idea of how fast youre moving
we want more Osman!
Great Video, I have had 2 skiing holidays, first two being sauzi d'oulx and serve chevalier. i'm going to the dolomites this January for my 3rd skiing holiday. Video on my channel to come. this was a nice recap of technique. I can stop and parallel turning right but not quite left. i'm going to perfect it this year. Better sound as well, where was the mic located?
I you are a good ski teacher
man the bunny hill where i took my first lesson today was short and steep, this one looks great long and somewhat flat
Where do u teach? I love your tips, I took a beginner class, the instructor didn’t teach much. :(
Thanks for this video. Where is this ski place?
Yall humour are good😂
currently on the piste in the austrian alps watching this
👍 nice
It is cool, how can i get you to teach me ski technique as a beginner? thanks
now I will be ready to ski
I have been a ski instructor for 5 years, That Bowtie with snowplow is really smart! Really like your outfit, open wear jacket and pants right ? Thank you, Jens
Thank you!🙏 Yes Open wear 2L
🤘🏾 Skiing is tough. I can snowboard
hi i think im pretty exprienced at skiing and i want to start a bit of freestyling so i want to hit some jumps when i am confident that i can do the jump and land good on my feet, than ill try the jump but when im in the air i panic. Im wondering if you can make a video about 'how not to panic in the air while doing a jump'. I really like you videos as well and wanna say keep up the good work.
First of all, dont think too much just do it. Second, belive in yourself. Third, watch stomp it tutorials on how to jump and make sure you have a good pop. Fourth, keep your legs locked (but a little bit bent) and with some space inbetween. Make sure you look forwards and not to much down. Start with small jumps then bigger and bigger
Sorry for writing a bible but hope this helped
what ski resort is this. I'm jealous of the flat runway and relatively lower crowd XD
why am i watching this. ive been skiing for years going every weekend lol.
Then you also saw that the students poles are way too short for him.
I am jealous. I want to get good at it like I am on skates
On my first day I went all the way to the black slopes! They were a bit steep so I had to fall back lol
Thanks for this Video i was for 2 days at Åre and i try my first attempt with skiis... Almost to die but was amazing. Btw my problem in corners is i cant turn left so easy i feel my skii stock on snow or block me. I dont get what i make wrong(probably everything) But really i dont understand how can fix that problem. I gonna try in February and this time i will ask some teacher there if can make me some private lessons about my left corners problem. Thanks for your video, and for your time!
Yeah same with me.. we were ar Åre last week and first time to put skiboots on my feel and last for 4 hours learning to ski and stop and so on.. my partner is a great skier so he took time to teach me patienly.. we will be back in Åre on Feb 14-17.. you can join us☺️
@@maryrosedelacruz332 Ohh thanks... I gonna be at Åre february 28 - 05 mars. I have already make the bokning.. Is so popular up there is to hard find room hotel. If you dont have find a hotel i reccomend you as the best the option and cheaper the hotel Parkvillan is in centrum of Åre good price nice rooms but with w.c and ducsh share. And if you have already find a hotel then i reccomend you the Parkvillan for drink beer they got a lot of beers and the bar is kinda really nice.
Hey can some one tell me the music in this video, the first song feels so good, I love it
download shazam on your phone then have it listen to this song but you gotta use another phone or desktop to pull up this video
Can someone please tell me the name of the resort?
What skis are you using in this ?
No boot exercises before putting on the skis?
So my girlfriend has had two lessons and is basically here at this level and making more parallel s turns. After two lessons I feel at some point she needs to learn how to slide and skid and do the basic hockey stop so she can stop if she needs to and also use skidding and sliding to control speed as she gets off the honey hill so she can better control her speed on steeper terrain. I am a self taught advanced intermediate and we are going to Colorado next month. Am I correct on her needing to learn this next? I feel she is timid and scared to take it to a bigger hill and feel if she could slide and skid she would feel more in control but they haven’t taught her that yet. You can’t always just make big s and c turns in my opinion. I want to help her get to the next level in her progression.
is it easier to learn how to skii or easier to learn how to snowboard? and how do you know which one to pick for a first timer?
how steep of a hill do i need? I have a family farm and would like to try skiing on it. I honestly cant find a minimum % grade required. Im fine with slow.
I find the title and image of this video discouraging. I am 62, overweight with minor balance issues and a left foot that turns outward by about 15-20 degrees. I've never even skated.
I NEED to learn to ski. My reasons are personal, but assure you there is a very compelling (to me) need.
My first lesson just showed me that skiing is an out of control, masochistic, activity. I couldn't even snowplough to a stop. Maybe I will be able to at my next lesson. Someone told me to try shorter, lighter skis next time.
So you show a young , very fit, person as your beginner. Whoo hoo. I saw 4 year olds mastering their first day of skiing when I took my first lesson.
Show me someone like me learning beginner skills in one day, and I'll be more impressed.
Now I'm off to view the video for tips. I'm sure they will be great. Just letting you know, though, that the first impression of this video is not helping me to gain confidence.
does anyone have any exercises to do before going?
What jacket are you wearing?
Watching this 2 min before I ski wish me luck lol
what is the song at 3:40? its good
Legit $250 an hour at a 5 star ski resort teaches you basically as much as this 10 minute UA-cam video for free LOL
Great video! Question about your Bent Chetlers 100: how do you like them for everyday use (good & bad days)? I'm looking to buy these...
Pierre Gorremans I just got a pair there amazing best ski I have ever used there perfect for almost anything I used them on groomers worked perfectly and got a powder day yesterday and they worked amazing I would
Recommend them they are an amazing all mountain ski
@@aideng6306 Thanks for the info! I saw them in the shop today and they seem great in person. It's between them and the faction prodigy 2.0 that I'm deciding...
Yea I ride them all mountain and love them, supper smooth at high speeds and can really push tight carves when you want due to the soft tips.
Love your vids wish I could go to laax but I am too young and have no money
Ivan Kulesha laax
@@awhariionyt1837 yeah sorry didn't see
i also love skiing. I started sking when i was 8 and everything that i have learnt until now is from jens and his chanel.
@@georgesnowboard8211 yeah I started at 4 but I only go 1 week per year
@@Ivan-uh5oj why you go only 1week per year? In which country do you leave.
What ski resort is this?
Can you teach me in ski Dubai please ❤
6:25 best moment in the whole video. VERY curvaceous
Damn it! Goin' to Austria in next two weeks - just can't wait! And your videos do not help! :-) Only problem I can see is that I just almost barely started... but still - this has to be great week for me, no matter what.
Cool videos, thanks!
When I took my first skiing lesson, the first thing my instructor taught me was how to FALL DOWN without injuring myself. No joke!
