You booked the trip as two one way flights instead of as a one way flight from JFK to MCT with a stopover in FRA. You have to use the "Add stopover for flight 1" button to correctly add the stopover. When done that way, the flight comes out to the expected 95,000 + CA $205.90
This comment is spot on. Aeroplan adds the "flight 2" by default which is quite confusing at first, but it should be removed and simply use the "Add stopover..." link for the stopover city. There seems to be no glitch here, just did not use the stopover feature as it is intended to be used, possibly from the confusing flight 2 added by default.
As others commented this is not the way to use Aeroplan stopover tool. As points and miles OG, I have huge respect to Julia and often watch her content, but it is said to see something like that being posted as a "tutorial" video
Thanks, Great video
U have to use the Stopover city button, not searching 2 flights like that. It will automatically add the miles from 2 flights which is not how to take advantage of the 5k extra points for stopover
It's only 84 000 points if you want to pay 616$ in addition to the points (which is 400$ more than just the taxes and fees) . If you want the real comparison, it would be 105 000 points plus the taxes and fees of 212$... Am I wrong?
Excellent!
I recently booked with AC Kuala Lumpur to Dubai to Atlanta, GA with a 5 day Stopovwr in Dubai First flight on Singapore, 2nd on Turkish, all flights in business class, 120k I had to call them, it was pricing higher online but I knew it should be 120k.
i got BOS > HND > BKK for 55k miles... the stopover has to be in the same region i think its not a glitch
$616 in fees lmao
