I would for sure buy a final version of this. This is my ONLY complaint about the moccamaster. Will you make a custom brew basket cover that fits this, too, or planning to leave this as an open design?
Coffeepilotparts out of Canada already has a production fix for this. Its just a dispersion cover for the basket. Much simpler and importantly, it actually exists
@@the-enders it's excellent, I use it every morning - My suggestion is to allow the brew basket to fill up just above the grounds, give it a quick stir then put the carafe underneath to allow it to drain. Still waiting for the production version of this showerhead to be released but in the meantime, stirring gives a similar effect. I definitely notice a different taste if I forget to stir or not allow the grounds to saturate before adding the carafe. Hope this helps!
@@karzy111 I’ve had it for a couple weeks, letting it bloom is the way to go. Great suggestion. Wish there was a way to delay it without manually pulling the carafe out but still great overall
I'm sure that the steel version will be heavier, especially at the shower head end. If it end up being too heavy and causing imbalance and losing seal around the tube, possibly a simple cross shape will help to increase basket coverage while decreasing mass and weight of a conventional round head. Flow can probably be evened out with variable hole sizing to promote water distribution to other areas.
Good idea. Will buy one when it's made out of a material that I consider food safe. There's no way I would drink even one cup out of the 3D printed version.
I noticed right away seeing video of the OEM sprayhead in operation that it was obviously not an optimal design, being too narrow and not centered over filter. I don't know if it's true or not, but I've read Technivorm has resisted redesigning the showerhead out of fear they may lose their SCA and ECBC certifications.
@@alpsskiman They did redesign it slightly a few years ago, adding a couple more holes and putting mounds around the opening of the holes, but it doesn't address the main problem. This is very exciting to me as I just purchased the Technivorm Moccamaster 79112 KBT this afternoon! My sister-in-law has one, too, so I will purchase two of these the minute they become available. Congratulations!
If you put this to market I will absolutely buy one I think the shower head opening so you can clean the back of the holes is a must have in my opinion
Did you consider making a replacement for the lid on the dripper instead? That could be made in plastic and I imagine that would be simpler and cheaper to manufacture, but should enable similar results.
I love the concept. The reason I went with Moccamaster was to eliminate the plastic taste from coffee made with machines that have mostly plastic in the hottest part of the brew cycle. The copper element to glass riser tube to metal spout mostly eliminates this (other than the basket.) What do others think?
I am considering buying a moccamaster and this has always been my problem. I am interested. Out of curiosity, with no pre-infusion on moccamaster do people find that to be a problem? I ask since other machines have it. Also, how close are you to stainless since I only see original on your website?
You may want to take a look at Coffee Pilots Shower Head for the One Cup. It fits over the brew basket and does not require removing the arm. I am more comfortable with that design as it won’t add increased weight to the arm since it is completely supported by the brew basket. I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade. I just feel more comfortable with a design that doesn’t alter my MM.
I have one question in regards to my Moccamaster coffee brewer. Why does it keep shutting off and turning back on every few seconds while brewing my coffee.
It was surprising to make my first pot of coffee in the new moccamaster and realize how poorly water was dispersed from the brew arm. I had just ordered a replacement arm to tinker with when it occurred to me I couldn't be the only one with the same concern and landed here. While I think there are a couple of simple tweaks to be made (1. Longer arm than shown for sure. It's one of the short comings of the OEM. 2. The screw off spray/dispersion face mentioned would allow optional patterns / hole size and easy cleaning.) I just ordered a prototype to support the cause. A quick update....No word on the prototype shipping yet, but the OEM replacement arm arrived. I used an ice pick to tweak the alignment of the spray holes and was able to improve the dispersion a bit, particularly in shooting further across the basket, less so laterally, which makes sense given the direction of flow. I'm sure the replacement arm will be an improvement over this, but it's simple tweak I would recommend to anyone for marginal gains. Cheers.
You can put me down for two, one in CO and one in AZ, as soon as you have them in stainless (or chrome plate). Another thing one buys when spending $300 on a coffee maker is the aesthetic of the industrial design. The less one is asked to compromise on that aesthetic, the more likely one will be to purchase your improved distributor design. Nice work.
I wonder if you could make a, I suppose, plastic attachment that simply plugged into the holes of the existing spray arm and redistributed them in a similar pattern to shower head you designed. It would make it a little lower and maybe not so elegant looking, but...
Amazing how this guy takes our money and does no update. I have waited since March and have not had an update but once. And I had to push email after email to get that. Do you realize there is no phone number to call? Amazing that somebody would buy a mocha Master or buy product from them with no phone numbers. A rip off for sure
I'll take the final version. Love to have it. Does need to be centered in the middle of the coffee..... but looking forward to getting a taste of the new brew.
Excellent work. Elegant design. Stainless steel indeed but I’d have the outside of the arm be coated in black to balance out the color of the entire machine. I feel like the polished chrome of the existing arm ages the look. Opens you up for color options for the arm in the future as well. Tight.
This video is a bit disapointing. Very little viewing of the water hitting the grinds throught the process. Was the water coming out of all the holes or just the ones closest to the neck of the disperser? There is not a lot of water coming out of each pulse cycle so I am not sure if there is enough to cover all 17 holes. Using paper filters instead of a gold one decreases the water flow allowing for a bit more soaking time for the grinds. I just bought a Mocamaster and when brewing a full pot with the flow switch set correctly, all the grounds get soaked no issue. I did not see a comment on if this plastic shower head is BPA free.
That’s interesting. Good to know. We considered something like this during design, but did not want to prevent access to agitation or contribute any more to heat transfer. Our goal is to have this around 20 bucks when all is said and done. The prototype cost is high since it’s just a little sprint run for us…
A thought inside the shower head ; is very similar to the Bodum Bistro pour over machine they have same shower head concept, with 3 v ends inside to make sure the water does distribute more evenly throughout the head.

Can you share with us whether or not the container that holds the water, can it be turned 180 degrees? In other words, to make it where the fill lines are on the opposite side they are on now. Reason is, we wish that the switches were on the other side too. It would work much better for us. They don't make that, but maybe we could flip the container around. i Also, it seems that we could cut a lot of the power cord off easily enough, by opening the bottom of the machine. My plus 6" from the maker. Don't need but say 10" max. Thanks for your inventions and channel. It's great.

The arm should be a little longer to center the hea. Also, the head diameter should be large enough to reach the edge of the filter. Stainless steel or glass would be nice.
I really don't think even the lid provided does much or helps much to improve the brewing. Now, if he could incorporate an infrared array along with the spray holes that might be helpful.
I think a fully transparent plastic (perhaps the same plastic as the water resevoir) would be cool - it’d match the aesthetic, and you could see the water move through it the same way it bubbles up through the centre of the reservoir when it boils.
it wouldn't hold up overtime when calcium deposits build up. Being a visible part it might actuall detract at a certain point. This would be more easily remedied by extending the glass pipe that is fed by the heater towards the rubber gasket that holds the showerhead in place. This however is too brittle a material at such a critical point in the machine. What must also be considered is that this showerhead won't dry easily and could be a point for bacteria to accumilate if the machine is not properly taken care of. That said, i'd love a fully transparent machine for similar reasons.
Please clarify: MM brews to 205 degrees F, but you say the plastic brew arm can withstand up to 150 degrees F? Is that correct? I ordered anyway, but just curious as to whether I'm living on the edge.
WOW! I am about to send my Moccamaster back for the very reason the brew arm does not fully "shower" the grounds - a huge flaw that my Cuisinart with its "showerhead" brew head (integrated in the lid) wets the grounds completely - making a great cup of coffee compared to the terribly weak (IMO) result from the M'master. You guys have come up with THE solution - and adding about 1/2" to the new stainless version will put the shower head smack dab in the middle of the brew basket. HOWEVER, a concern might be that the longer and heavier stainless arm (the printed plastic one is probably lighter than the stock arm) will SAG, so it may need a tab on the bottom that will allow it to rest on the edge of the water container to prevent sagging. THOUGHTS? Thanks for the great idea! - LongJnSilver in "Historic Hendersonville" NC

I’m glad YT suggested this vid. There’s a guy in Australia that makes a round shower head out of stainless steel but I think it’s cost prohibitive.
Where can I see the video?
Any pointers for Cup-One?
Did y’all give up on this, or are y’all still planning on releasing?
Still working on it!!!
@@Coffeehaus When will it be shipped?
Please clarify: MM brews to 205 degrees F, but you say the plastic brew arm can withstand up to 150 degrees F? Is that correct? I ordered anyway, but just curious as to whether I'm living on the edge.
Up to 150 degrees C. Which is 300F. Way hotter than any brew or dishwasher.
Does this work on the thermal carriage pot the same as the standard?
Will these be for sale again in the future?
I'd definitely give this a try!
Anything with plastic contacting hot water is a dealbreaker
Does this fit the KBGT? I see on the website you list only for the KBGV.
I'll grab one. Good job. My home made versions don't work very well
Would the half carafe setting work for 3.5 cups of water, or about a third of a carafe?
Corrected 3 1/2 ounces to 3 1/2 cups of water.
Awesome idea! I've been on the fence between purchasing the Moccamaster and 2 other drip brewers for a couple of months.
Your innovation solves the biggest issue I have with the moccamaster. Thank you! I will go ahead and purchase the moccamaster and your drip spout! Research on new coffee maker, done. :)
my Amex was charged October of 2023. no acknowledgment receipt, nothing. help a guy out please?
Absolutely - can you please email me luke@coffeeha.us?
@@Coffeehaus emil was sent several days ago. no response
Give me just a min, I’ll check!
@@Coffeehaus still waiting. please
Would it work on the CDT Grand?
The exact reason why I bought the Bonavita over the Technivorm was because of the better spray head. If you guys end up selling this in stainless steel, I will TOTALLY bought it along with Technivorm.
I’ve had two bonavitas die on me over the last 4-5 years. Great coffee maker in general or so I thought until I bought a technivorm, very surprised at how smooth and flavorful it makes all coffee vs the Bonavita. Compared, the Bonavita tastes harsh
I was actually working/designing a Stainless steel version of this, but had issues with connecting to the glass tube. What kind of plastic did you use? Does it ‘off gas’ anything dangerous? * good job!!
Is this for KBGT too?
