Fountain Pen & Ink Favourites - 2017 through 2022

- I started keeping records of my currently inked pens / inks back in 2017 in a notebook, and recently copied the information into a spreadsheet so I could pull statistics. After doing my 2022 year in review videos, I thought a hobby to date video would be nice, too. If nothing else, it gives future me a reminder of what my most commonly used inks and pens were. Watch to find out what ink brand I used 40 times in only 6 years!
Wonderful ink/color choices!
I am so starting an ink/inked pens notebook. I have been wondering how much I use my pens and inks. Thank you for the inspiration ❤
It really does help to know how much I do (or do not) use my pens. I thought I used the Platinum 3776 in Tortoise Shell most of all, but actually the Model 45 from Franklin-Christoph was the winner. And cements my love of pocket sized pens. You’ll find keeping records of this sort fun to do, as it gives you another chance to use your pens and inks. A spreadsheet is icing on the cake.
Literally ALL of those ink colors are beautiful. Is it just me or does Ina-ho kind of resemble Diamine Sepia? That would be a godsend to me as I missed out on my own Ina-ho bottle and Sepia happens to be one of my regulars for sketching. I'm also loving so much of the Sailor inks these days but I only own one as they aren't advised for vintage pens with rubber sacs. Boo. Japanese inks have some of the most unique colors out there.
I LOVE the idea of keeping this kind of a log for your yearly usage! I have a currently inked but I'll need to set it up a little more efficiently to be able to tally up all that I used at the end of the year. Thanks so much for sharing your process.
Thank you! I love my spreadsheet, even though it is the one thing that doesn’t let me use my pens.
Diamine Sepia is a gorgeous yellowish gold, more gold than Ina-ho. Ina-ho is more greenish and dusty. But they are in the same range of colours, both pond scum / baby poo colours.
What pen do you like sea Europa in? I find it to be way too light when I have tried to use it 😢
i guess its not the problem with feed of 3776 its more likely a cartrage converter issue, do get a new CC and try wet lubricated ink like pilot kompaki and tsuki yo..... it may fix your issue
It’s a good idea to try. I have an extra Platinum converter around somewhere, I should try it. Thanks.
Beautiful! I would love it if you'd write the name of the ink by the swatches....
Yeah, I should have done that, even if only in pencil. Sorry!
