Wow this is pretty spot on. Although there was a lot of love there was also a lot of invisible control.

INFP here. This is incredibly accurate. I’m curious to see your take on other types, particularly the ISFJ.

I cannot tell you how much insight i gained from this video. I also loved the topic and the fact it is so different from other INFP videos. Please tell me you will posting more videos on INFPs soon.
1:38 My dad suffered from severe bi-polar depression and bc of the stigma around mental illness at this time he was undiagnosed. It got so bad when i was in 5th grade he had to be hospitalized for what seemed like a significant amount of time even though it was probably only a couple of weeks.
1:53 growing up I felt like I was responsible for their happiness.
2:27 literally my mother to a T. She tends to be very passive aggressive.
4:30 again, you nailed it. This was my childhood in a nutshell.

“Invisible control” I never thought of my parents as controlling but now that I think about it 🤔

yeah for example at 3:03, I would get rejected sometimes by my parents for choosing the one that I want (mostly foods), but almost all the time I think that it's just them trying to care for me

I used to have a best friend INFP for over 50 years. But during that time, she repeatedly disappointed me by ghosting me, not responding to phone calls etc., because as I would learn later she was involved with a destructive relationship with some new guy and she would be in depression and avoid me because I think she knew what I would think about her destructive choices. Things would get back to normal, but finally politics ended it. Thanks to Facebook who only revealed to me what she would say about my candidate, I learned she had a vicious and unacceptable temper. I felt that we could no longer be compatible and I let her go...after 50 years of best friends. Only an INTJ like myself could do that. However, this narrative you presented helps me understand the why of her behavior and indeed she fit most of the descriptions you presented, especially the bad childhood environment with dysfunctional parents.

It sounds like you went through a difficult experience with your friend. It can be challenging when someone you've been close to for so long starts to drift away due to personal issues and differences. It's understandable that you had to make the tough decision to let go, especially if her behavior became toxic and unacceptable to you.
Understanding the reasons behind her actions, such as her upbringing and possibly dysfunctional childhood environment, can provide some clarity, but it doesn't necessarily make the situation easier to handle emotionally.
As an INTJ, you may have approached the situation with logic and detachment, ultimately deciding that the relationship was no longer compatible or healthy for you. Sometimes, prioritizing your own well-being and boundaries is necessary, even if it means letting go of long-term friendships.
